Immigration has been apart of American History for a long time and yet somehow we all have our opinions on why they should be allowed to come over and why they should not be allowed to come over (Griswold). Have we ever thought about an alternative? Have we ever thought that maybe if they do come over there should be some changes? Shouldn’t Immigrants start to protect the United States since it is their home now? What if some would rather not pay taxes and follow our laws? Do Immigrants really respect Americans and America. Why should Immigrants protect the United States? Immigrants should protect the U.S. like they would protect their own home because it is now their new home. It is where their children are going to grow up and have a better future, but in order for their children to grow up and have the better future therefore they need to help protect our safe country. They should protect the U.S. because they came over knowing that we can be who we want to be, and we also have the chance to be free. If we do not protect our country then can they really think that if they come over they will have the freedom we talk about? Many of us believe that Immigrants do not respect America because it is not their home country, but that is not entirely true. Some Immigrants have a profound respect for Americans and America because they realize that America's foundation is built on the will of God. Even though they might not understand why America gets involved in other countries conflicts at first. After a while, some Immigrants start comprehending that America fights for the freedom of human rights.
