As most people would know high schoolers aren’t very mature however, I do not believe that someone should need a high school diploma to be able to get their driver’s license. Having your license in high school is a great thing for multiple reasons. Being able to drive is a helpful experience in high school because most students now a days work, it’s good for them, and it’s convenient for parents. For one thing most students work and are their own transportation. It is convenient for parents who have children that work because they don’t have to worry about taking their child to work. This way the child gets to learn more about time management. Most kids who work go straight from their school to their job. Not only is this convenient for the parents, but also for the kid because it doesn’t have to wait on his or her parent and risk being late to work. Driving is an important part of life with today’s teens. They don’t have to worry about getting rides. It gives them the sense of getting older and feeling more mature. Let’s face it kids get sick and need to go home sometimes, well if they can drive their parent won’t need to pick them up and take them home. It becomes a hassle for parents to leave work to pick up their kid. Why would they do it if they don’t need to? Another thing is they can pick their siblings up from school. If the parent doesn’t get off till 5 and school is over at 3:40 where does the kid go? Well he could stay after but that costs money and why would you pay if you have another child capable of getting them.
