Many people are brave, but not as many are brave as Harriet Tubman. Can you imagine risking your life knowing that if you were caught, you’d be killed? Harriet Tubman was a hero because she freed slaves, risking getting killed for them. As she continued she soon eventually became a leader of an army in the civil war, because of her braveness and single-minded personality nothing stopped her. She rescued many people and became well known around the world for enslaving others. One thing about her is how she never left anybody behind. Harriet Tubman should be considered a hero because she risked her life to free other enslaved African Americans. She was courageous, and she was a determined person. Although she knew the consequences, she still continued freeing enslaved people. Secondly, was her ability to free and rescue other enslaved African Americans. Unlike many people, Harriet was fearless. She did many things that people would have instantly said no to. In the text it states, “Harriet rescued both her parents and her siblings.” This shows how bold she was to put others before her. Harriet Tubman was many things, including a hero, due to her courageous actions. Harriet Tubman should be considered a hero because of her bravery. In the article “Ten Heroic Facts About The Incredible Harriet Tubman,” it states “Harriet was the first woman in US history to plan and lead a military,” “She saved enslaved others at the risk of her own life.” One of her #1 gutsy acts is going to Maryland 13 times to rescue enslaved African Americans, this proves how she became a hero. In addition, this also proves how caring and generous she is. She never left anybody behind, even when they became tired, she continued to motivate and push them to go farther.
