Should College Students Get Out Of High School

According to James E. Rosenbaum, “students who perform poorly in high school probably won't graduate from college—many won't even make it beyond remedial courses.” Students do not understand that college is a challenging course through life that will make you question your education. The National Center for Education Statistic show that dropout rate decreased from 12.1 percent in 1990 to 6.5 percent in 2014, with most of the decrease occurring after 2000, which was 10.9 percent. I do not think that students should graduate early from high school because they have so much more to learn, college would be too challenging, and they need to experience high school before they start college. Throughout high school we learn so many lesson that teach us about life. Students need school teaches us. Students think that they are ready to graduate, go to college, and get a good job but in reality, they need to wait. High school teaches us that we have more to learn before going out into the world. We learn about life, the future, and even ourselves. High school teaches us that we need to plan for college and our lives when we get out of high school. A lot of teenagers are not mature enough to go to college when they are a junior in high school. Teenagers would feel uncomfortable if they go to college early because they would be missing their friends and would be missing out on activities.
