Should Bullies be put in jail?
Bully is someone that does negative things to a person, ¨Be sure to taste your words before you spit them out.¨Bullying has been around for years. There is no such thing of a vacuum that gets rid of bullies, if there was we still should not do this. Bullies should not be held criminally responsible for their actions due to problems, understanding, punishment.
The evidence indicates that, kids don't fully understand what they are doing, they thing it's a joke. The author argues that bullies should be held responsible for their actions. We cannot do this because bullies are just kids they don´t understand. According to the text of ¨Are bullies criminals?¨,¨The death of Phoebe Prince was tragic, but it's not right to punish criminals.¨ In the literal sense the quote means.¨People that kill themselves is a tragic thing but there is no reason to give bullies a punishment. This detail illustrates that bullies don’t understand because they think it’s a joke. This means that bullies don't try to hurt them. This matters because if a bully does this, they can't go to jail immediately. They don't have to go to jail. Therefore we don’t need to send them to jail. People have to do something.

For example, The bullying stats states that, 4.5% fight with their bully. The victim is doing something and does not care what he/she is doing. Basically this means that the victim is fighting with the bully which should not happened. Recent studies shed new light on the victims problem that isn't bullies fault. It’s important because if they got to jail they might do it again. Therefore, it's critical that we cannot punish bullies because of their
I would follow what Principal Milhoviak did, which is contact my discipline team and get their points of view. Prior to that, I would need to understand the main problem. It sounded like he did that by talking with the sister and getting her story. This is the first step, understanding the situation. The next step is formulating a solution on how to handle the situation. This is where getting other people involved was a great idea. Principals know they cannot do it alone so they need to have a team, especially in these types of situations. The problem was that team offered many suggestions. As a principal I would listen to all of them and also refer to the school handbook. In this case, since the student is not in his fourth period, I would call for the brother and sister back to the office until parents are reached. As a principal the priority is finding the student who made the threat and keeping the victims safe until parents are reached and the team decides what to do next.
There are bullies everywhere you go some noticeable and others not at all, you may not recognize a bully because they come in many different forms. The abusiveness of bullies’ is usually deliberate and not accidental. There are bullies at work, online, in the public and mostly school. So who is a bully? A bully is a person that causes emotional, psychological, or physical harm by using two different types of attacks. The first type being direct attacks, this consists of threatening, teasing, taunting, name calling, stealing, damaging of belongings, and hitting. Studies say that this type of attack is more common between males. “While both boys and girls say others bully them by making fun of the way they look or talk, boys are more likely to report being hit, slapped, or pushed”( Nansel, Overpeck, Pilla, Ruan, Simons-Morton, Scheidt 2001). The other type of attacks are indirect, they are spreading of rumors and encouraging others to reject someone else. Studies say that this type of attack is more common between females. “Teenage girls are more often the targets of rumors and sexual comments” ( Nansel, Overpeck, Pilla, Ruan, Simons-Morton, Scheidt 2001). Bullies usually target people who are different, it may be physical differences or even intelligence, and also they tend to target people who won’t retaliate back. They usually harass the person by attacking at there differences and imperfections. So a bully is someone who causes harm to others over and over again.
...proved how the statement of a single witness can drastically affect the outcome of a trail and how a person’s actions or inactions can make both good and bad differences just like Mary Podlesny had a negative effect on Nabozny’s life during middle school. Today bullying is still a major issue; over 3.2 million students are bullied each year and an average of 9 out of 10 LGBT kids say they been bullied. Many of these victims are afraid to ask for or are refused help from their schools and school districts. However, that does not mean nothing can be done to help bullied individuals, even just one person taking a stand against bullying can make a huge difference and if there is anything everyone can agree upon it is that no one wants to be bullied. So take a stand against bullying, make a difference, and maybe, just maybe, make the world a bit better in the process.
When talking about school violence, it’s rampant in school and among the student is the cause of it, there are many students from a different background that they were brought by different behavior. “Studied of school violence have variously used terms a teen aggression, conflict, delinquency, conduct disorders, criminal behavior to describe the sources of the problem,” (Meadows 2014 pg.126), Some children have violent behavior in their blood may be because of what they have faced in their early life, their experience, even some are influenced by peer pressure and family, all this violent behavior make majority of student be a victim like peter case, what I think is lack of tolerance and he thinks people should be treated the way he was treated and the revenge is the solution to his problem. Some student doesn 't realize that a school is a subcultural place they can meet different race, skin color, physical appearance, religion, ethnicity and cultural difference, but being tolerance to other people is the key to solving the problem.
A bully is someone who picks on other people, because they think it is the way to solve their problems. There are many types of bullying, there is physical, verbal, and mental. Children that are ages five through eleven began using verbal abuse and some even use physical abuse (Garrett 33). People estimated that one hundred and sixty thousand students miss school every day, and twenty-eight million missed school days per year, due to fear of being bullied (Garrett 36). Six million boys and four million girls are involved in fights from being bullied or bullying others (Garrett 33). Also, there is an estimate that over five hundred and twenty-five thousand people are bullies in America (Garrett 35). “Freshman, particularly are the victims of bullies in high school, especially if they are small and smart” (Garrett 31-32). Many people are bullied because of the way they look, or the way they act.“ Children from violent homes are three or four times more likely to become a bully” (Garrett 30). Some bullies may make fun of people because they were made fun of, beaten, or unwanted as they grew up. Most children become bullies to gain power (Verial). Bullies do what they do so they “feel competent, successful, to control someone else, to get some relief from their own feelings of powerlessness” (Garrett 72).When children grow up they may become bullies, because of the abusive environment they were raised in by their parents.
... people hear of a child committing suicide because of bullying, they think of how devastating it must’ve been for him/her, but it never seems to cross our minds that bullies need to have a voice too so their side of the story can be heard. It’s hard to believe, but many bullies have been victims themselves or have had to deal with personal issues which makes them feel the need to use this defense mechanism that thrusts the knife farther and deeper than what was coming at them. No matter the reason, they all deserve to be forgiven, accepted by society, and treated more fairly by standards that we don’t understand. Therefore we have to give everyone flexibility in their choices. Let them experience bullying, let them decide on their own what is right and what is wrong, and let them choose on their own terms of what they’ve learned whether change is even a good thing.
Many people in our world believe that they have the authority to determine someone else 's worth. In our society, people are being called degrading and horrible things constantly. This is known as bullying. Bullying is defined as unwanted or aggressive behavior towards an individual that is usually repeated over time. The way someone views themselves is important to their character and way of life. If a person is constantly told that they are "ugly" or "worth nothing", it might shape them into what they see in the mirror on a daily basis. Dark thoughts that result from bullying can lead to a dark way of life and even suicidal thoughts. Bullying should be a crime because it can lead to depression and suicide in some cases.
Bullying is a serious issue and has an adverse effect that could lead to depression, anxiety, and worse suicide. To become a bully takes a long process, with the help from parents, schools, communities, and social media, bullies and bullying can be prevented.
Even though no student should be harassing others, the school district is still required to protect its students if it notices that they are being tormented. (Restate topic) The school district must protect its students from harassment because bullies can cause students to be constantly worried and just focusing on making it through the day. Therefore, they are unable to focus on their education, which is (CRAFT) pejorative for their future. (Strong last impression) If we take action against bullying, protect each student, and teach them morals at an early age, then our future will have less criminals and will be more
Bullying is a form of violence, a way to gain the power to repress the weak.
Bullying does not have a standard definition. Bullying can be anything from calling someone else names, beating them up just for the fun of it, to texting or messaging them on the internet or any mobile device. Any person can be the victim of bullying, not just children. Bullying causes many issues, physically, emotionally, and mentally, not only for the victim, but for their entire families as well. Bullies have many different reasons as to why they start bullying someone else. The actions done to the victim leaves them with only a few options on how to stop being bullied. How they handle it is always different.
Bullying is an issue that is a problem in society today. Bullying is any kind of unwanted behavior to an individual on repeated occasions which is a display of power over someone. Bullying is mainly common among students in school, and unfortunately, it happens in other places like at home between parents and children, and on rare occasions, among adults. When people began to identify bullying for what it is, it was only known as a physical aggression towards others, but over the course of time, bullying has moved from just physical bullying to verbal bullying, and power abuse in the workplace between co-workers in different ranks. In a book called Welfare Brat: A Memoir, Mary was bullied in school by boys on the streets, and unfortunately, she was verbally bullied by her mom. Bullying among children in the society is caused by different reasons, and affects its victims negatively.
Have you ever been personally bullied by another person? Maybe you have not had your head forced into a locker, but verbally hurt? Bullying today can be quite serious. Bullying is when someone tries to hurt another person by hitting them or by simply hurting them with their words. Bullying is something that can have a huge impact on its victims. It might be something that lasts throughout their lives, or something that might cause them to take their lives. Bullies make small groups so that they can pick on other students who are small, fragile, and who can not defend themselves. Picking on someone should not be accepted because it can affect a person's well being in a drastic way. Bullying is believed to be a normal part of school life. However, when people begin to have that mentality they forget that bullying is psychologically and physically harmful to both the victim and the bully.
Bullying of students in school is an abuse that affects and produces a number of negative experiences on the victim. It is proven that those students who bully do so merely because they see themselves superior than those being bullied. They use this as a tactic to make juniors fear them and show them that they are not equal in any way. Some will even bully as a revenge of the bullying they suffered in the past. I have been bullied before and I know some of the effects it could have on a person. Bullying is a serious cause of many issues and has effects that may be long lasting.
We all know what it is, and we know it’s not a good thing. Bullying has been around for ages, and has gotten worse as time has progressed. With all the technology the world has today, bullying is not only occurring at school and work, but online as well. Most individuals try to ignore a bully, but sometimes ignoring it makes the situation even worse. Bullying is a serious subject that needs to be looked at more. Individuals are being affected by bullying in a negative way, causing a lowering of self-esteem, depression and sometimes even suicide.
