It was another tough case for Rafael. One he put his heart and soul into to win but lost because of an old photo that resurfaced of the victim in a similar situation. Defence claimed it was a pattern and that the victim was blackmailing a "hero cop". A ONE time photo clearly indicates a pattern. Right. How could the jury be so gullible? It was these cases that always got to him and now a rapist walks free and that “not guilty” verdict ran through his head. Goddammit. Rafael was fuming as he grabs a cup of coffee. Olivia goes up to him, “You did all that you could.” “It’s not enough, Liv." he says angrily, clenching his jaw “You know these type of perps always screw up. Karma will get to him, " she says, trying to cheer him up. “It should …show more content…
Not tonight. Rafael wanted to be home. He had another vice he could turn to. 40 minutes later, he arrives home. Tossing his jacket and vest off clumsily on to a chair, he unties his tie and places it on top of the rest of the clothes. Ugh. He did not want to be in his work clothes or deal with anything work related at all. He grabs some sweats and an old Clash shirt from the clean clothes hamper and puts those on. He heads to his DVD case, which surprisingly contained a lot of movies. There was one shelf that he mentally deemed For Losses Only. “What to watch?” He looks them over. Steel Magnolias. Yes, that seemed to be a good one to watch. After that, he walks over to the fridge, pulling out the tub of Double Fudge Brownie ice cream, and grabs a spoon from the silverware drawer. He puts the DVD in, curls up on the couch and begins to dig in. A couple hours later, he was a tearful mess. The scenes when Shelby passes and Annelle names her kid after her always got to him. Tears were streaming down his face, muttering, "Shelby would be proud." Of course, he ate almost all of the ice cream too. Before he got off the couch his door opens.
All of these dealers claimed they were innocent, but one particular defense attorney, Cynthia Barbare, took her client, Jose Luis Vega, at his word. He claimed to be an honest auto mechanic and the dirt under his fingernails led her to believe him. Plus, she found it odd that a reportedly wealthy drug trafficker lived in such a meager home. Her first line of defense was simply requesting that the drug lab test the veracity of the drugs. None of the prior dealers from Alonso’s cases had done so because the Dallas county court system unofficially penalized anyone who requested verification from the drug lab with a much lengthier sentence. The courts had simply relied upon the officers’ field tests. Ultimately, Barbare’s gutsy choice paid off

This case was so far in the drain, that any and everything was accepted. Della Pesca oversaw all evidence and dealt with all parties involved. The 9-1-1 operator who received the call took notes from the complaining party and gave the responding officers everything she received. The dispatcher who was working that never signed off on the call because Della Pesca bribed her into not doing so. That decision went against that dispatchers training and ethics. No matter the circumstance, no victim or offender should be held accountable for something they did not do. Her loyalty was more to Della Pesca than getting to the truth. Alfred Bello who was also a suspect in the case, said that both John and Rubin was present during the murder but only stated that when Pesca used unethical tactics against him. It was easy to fabricate evidence after the people who saw the murder happen. Even when the victim said Rubin was not his shooter Pesca pressured him into saying so. An officer did look for the truth and came close to finding the truth died before he could do anything to help the case. Thankful for a kid and his teachers who believed in Carters innocence they went on to find justice. While doing so they came close to finding justice when Della Pesca threaten them. He knew they were closing in on what actually happen and Carter was

Jasmine had left 1 hour early in order to start getting ready and guess who she took with her, Miranda leaving me to get ready with Wendell. We head to the dressing room and as soon as we are inside on our own, the old Wendell returns. “I told you I would find someone better than Jasmine, although I shouldn’t be saying this but Miranda is great. She has been a Victoria Secret model since 2007, she has been voted the sexiest woman alive and she is everything anyone would want.” “That’s nice Wendell,” I respond, “but Jasmine is the only one who I wish to be with.” We then got ready in silence. About 10 minutes before I was meant to go outside, Arturo came and started to comfort me that everything would be okay. “You know I have forgiven you with what happened with the Vidromek case and you have forgiven me what happened with Jasmine at the Christmas party all those years ago.” I stared at the floor but didn’t say anything, my eyes not meeting his. “But now we are grown up and I would like to give you the opportunity to be your own person. I am very happy to say that you went to Oak Ridge and now we can just hope for the best.” “Yes, Marcelo has forgiven Arturo and he thinks that it is time for Arturo and Marcelo to be friends again.” I said with a smile on my face. It was now time to go outside and walk down the aisle where the most important decision of my life would be made. “Let’s go Arturo,” I then stated and we walked outside into the beautiful

When we knock on the door my cousin husband Juan Antonio Vasquez open, and welcome me and my sister in. We ask for my cousin and he said she went to get an errant and that she was going to be back around 12 a.m. but we were welcome to settle in ourselves in while we waited for her. It was getting late and my sister and I decided to go to bed, he told us to sleep in the same room him on the bed and us two in the floor. When I felt asleep, I felt like if I was dreaming that someone was touching my vagina. I open my eyes I realized I was dreaming he was touching me. I freeze and decided to move to the side a little and hope so he can stop. He did stop for a few minutes until he figure that I probably felt back to sleep, which I didn’t I was wide awake and scared.
It was about one-thirty in the morning in the town of Homestead Michigan. The almost florescent light of the moon bouncing off the fresh puddles that covered the ground. The grass and trees were covered in a thin layer of water causing every little beam of light to reflect back up. Anyone who may have been outside at this time would have without double, smelled the mix of fresh dirt and night crawlers. As the moonlight started to fade away through the cloud cover, three buses made there way through the streets and parked in front of HHS, the local high school.
There was a girl named Kandy, she was 15 years old. Her life was extremely boring, all she ever did was go to school, go on her computer, eat and sleep. She spent all summer on her computer. She was really good with HTML and spent her free time making web sites. Kandy didn't have many friends and rarely talked to guys because she was shy and unconfident about her looks. That's why she went into chat rooms. She made a web site with pictures of herself on it and told people in chat rooms to go there. A lot of people would tell her how pretty she was and some would say she was ugly. That made her feel awful. When anyone would say anything nice to her, she wouldn't believe them and think that they were just making fun of her. She only had one real friend that she could talk to, her name was Ang.
The traditional short story is a genre of a prose. It is a fiction work that presents a world in the moment of an unexpected change. The traditional short story obeys some rules, such as the unexpected change and major events with detail. The modern short story is a revolution which is based on the traditional short story. In other words, if the traditional short story is in the first floor, the modern short story is in the second floor. Therefore, the modern short story still obeys some rules that the traditional short story obeys, and breaks some rules that the traditional short story obeys. One rule that the modern short story still uses is the unexpected change. The rules broken by the modern short story are that the major events are not detailed, and that the border between the real world and the fiction world. This paper first talks about the unexcepted change and uses the examples of “Eveline” and “The Open Window.” Then, this paper talks about major events with detail, and uses the examples of “Lottery,” “The Open Window” and “Hills Like White Elephants.” Finally, this paper talks about the meta-literary and the border between the real world and the fiction
