The Night at the Mill!!
All of a sudden there was a breeze that I have never felt before. The breeze was like if someone was to walk past you but no one was there. My friend Neveah told me that it happened to her . But here's the thing Nevaeh died without anyone knowing he was dead by morning. I never thought I would have a friend die of mine. Nevaeh was my best friend we went to the mill even after people told us it was hunted. We never cared at all we knew it was not true they just didn’t want us there. The night that Nevaeh died was the night the we stayed the night at the mill and we never told our parents that we were going to sleep at the mill. Nevaeh and I played the ouija board when we were at the mill. When we got to the mill all I could think about was if the mill was really haunted or if they said it to scare us. I muttered to Nevaeh that “I

The next day Jacob's parents didn't know where he was they thought he went to a friends house without asking. After they got the newspaper on the front of the paper said in big bold words “ A YOUNG BOY FOUND DEAD IN THE MILL” when Jacob's parents read that they knew it could not be him they knew he would never do that without asking. In the paragraph about the boy found dead they all they could see was is saying “BLOOD EVERYWHERE” “THE BOY’S NAME IS JAYCOB!!” Since Jaycob died in that mill he knew he had to hunt everyone that stayed there. He did not get to hunt many people they all knew it was haunted. So that day when Nevaeh and I went to the mill to stay the night without our parents knowing about it. That was the time that Jaycob could haunt them and kill them so he could have friends to play with. Jaycob heard they were coming so he had time to plan all his traps. Locked doors, blood on the wall, weird noises, a fake person to get them out of there but would take them to the… Then someone was coming what ever Jaycob did he could not move or then there would be a weird wind with no windows or anyone around.
Jake, Lucy’s neighbor was a well-educated kid. He was 15 years old and lives in an old timber house with his parents. Jake’s father was a farmer and had lived in the area since he was a lad. The area seemed to be haunted since creepy tales about all sorts of beasts was told. People even claimed that they were awakened some nights by a howling. Mostly people believed that it was a feral dog but Jakes father incised that it was a wolf, a ghost wolf. He was sure since he had seen a wolf in the forest when he was in Jake’s age, but none believed him. He kept telling his son about the wolf and Jake wanted to find out the truth. Lucy knew about Jake’s curiosity, at the same time as she decided to escape from her unbearable father. So she lied to get Jake by her side on the endless escape from the futureless community. She said that she knew where the wolf’s lair was. Jake got even more curious and joined her wolf hunting-adventure.
“And maybe, if I had been destined to it or called to it strongly enough, it might have been for me.” Jayber was hoping that aunt Cordie and uncle Othy did not die during the winter season but there was nothing he could do when they got but take care of them both. “ By “bachelor” I mean, as was generally meant, a man old enough to be married who was not married and who had no visible chance to get married.” He wanted to marry Mattie Chatham, but she was married to Troy, and she thought Troy was the one that made her dreams come true. “ Maybe they had taken notice of my habit of keeping the shop open at night as long as people was there.” As long as people stayed at the shop after closing, hoping Jayber wanted them to stay for company. When everybody left Jayber, he was hoping for an impel and to start his own family. Jayber was looking to start a fresh new way, but he could not because he want to live the rest of his life with her. He moved along the riverside bank to be to himself, in a house that a friend had gave him with no rent. Being left alone, with nowhere to call home was the saddest thing could happen to anyone. “ By then I had no living relative, or none who was known of me.” In Port William, Jayber did not have a family because they all had died during the winter season. Jayber had taught himself how to do everything he needs to know to survive, therefore he taught himself how to be a
This little boy’s major issue might have not been in his actions, but in what his real motives were. Jacob Blivens idolized the innocent young boys that he read about in his Sunday-school books and he was drawn to the legacy they were remembered for. He had a burning fire inside of him to be like the other boys and leave behind a legacy for everyone to read. Jacob had an internal conflict of not understanding how all the other “bad boys” could get away with their stunts and he was always left with the blame. Even though it never s...
I felt something in my pocket, no it couldn I walked outside and it was almost time for the marriage ceremony, I felt so happy that the situation was dealt with and I wanted to see my wife in her beautiful dress more than I wanted another glass of water. I felt a presence outside and then saw sheep, it was the sheep I gave The King of Salem, I could tell because of that face of wanting more food and water. I just felt as if the wedding was a path full of smooth stones with pointy, cracked rocks at the end. Maybe it was not.
Not a single person saw Jacob in Cold Spring Park around the time of Ben’s murder. Miss Giannetto, the jogger who first discovered Ben’s body, admitted that she never saw Jacob in the park that morning. In addition, despite Sam Studnitzer’s testimony about hearing a boy’s cry, he candidly admitted, just like Giannetto did, that he never saw Jacob that morning. To support Giannetto and Studnitzer’s words, two other passerby said that they did not see Jacob near the murder scene. To strengthen the point that Jacob is innocent, I will add on the fact that there is nothing left at the murder scene that points to Jacob: no blood evidence, no genetic evidence, no hairs, no fibers, nothing besides the fingerprint. Still, the only powerful piece of information does not stand under
He had stated he was more worried about the weed in his room and school homework while they were trying him for 1st degree murder. He basically had no concept of what was happening to him or how much pain it had caused anyone else. The brother felt that it was a painful trial and no justice was shown for his brother. Jacob was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole for the murders of his mother and
Jayber’s parents die in the terrible winter of 1917 and 1918. Jayber take losing his parents veryhard, this is seen in the story, “ And then an old woman I knew as Aunt Cordie gathered me up without asking and sat down in the rocking chair and held me and let em cry.” This shows that Jayber took losing his parents hard. After losing his parents Jayber goes to live with Aunt Cordie and Uncle Othy in Squires Landing. While living with with Aunt Cordie and Uncle Othy Jayber helps out around the house thsi is seen in the story when he talks about how he helps with everything, “ I helped her with everything: keeping up fries , maintaining the lamps, cooking, cleaning fish, dressing poultry, washing the dishes, washing the dishes , washing the clothes, cleaning the house, working in the garden, putting up food for winter.” Jayber also like going down to the store when he is not helping Aunt Cordie at the house. He also helps Uncle Othy with some farming jobs. But he like to help Aunt Cordie more than Uncle Othy because he is hard to please. One afternoon Put Woolfork found Uncle Othy lying face down in mud on the riverbank, where he had gone to bail out his boat after hard
Jacob, the story “The Hitchhiker, has shown odd and abnormal personalities, throughout the story. On the way back home, he and his parents discover a stranded man, a hitchhiker on the road side. The weather is harsh, heavy rain and constant lightning. His father decides to let him in the car. On the way to Ipswich, Jacob seems unsure of the man. He starts to notice blood on his wrist, a scar on his face and his distorted voice saying “You’re dead”. Later the boy quickly pushes his seat and manages to kill the man by throwing him out the door. After meeting the doctor, the man was discovered to be a gardener. Jacob then noticed how the doctor and his parents believed that he is indeed schizophrenic. This is mainly
It was late I thought. Almost midnight yet I was still unable to sleep. I stared thoughtlessly at the moving shadows mumbling to myself, "it was just a story" but in my heart I knew it wasn't, it was more than a story, much, much more. Then, a crow appeared in the middle of my room. The crow stared at me with such intensity that I fell backwards into the safety of my pillow. I stared at the crow in shock as it disappeared into my closet and that's when I heard it, a long piercing whine that was like a nail to a chalkboard. I prayed that it would go away, I prayed with all my heart but it stayed there continuing its long whine. It was then when I caught a glimpse of it. I saw two glowing bloodshot eyes stare at me. I let out a scream born from terror and almost immediately my dad came bursting into my room. He stared at me with confusion but all I could do was point a shaking finger at my closet door. Cautiously, my father marched into the closet door only to find nothing inside. Then, without warning, the closet door slammed shut along with my father still inside.
In the book Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children By Ransom Riggs Jacob Portman starts off showing his love for his Grandpa Abe. His grandpa is a man who was raised in an orphanage on an island. Grandpa tells his grandson jacob stories and shows him photos of invisible boys, strong girls, kids with fire powers , floating girls and people with mouths in the back of their heads. Jacob as he gets older stops believing in the wild stories and fake looking pictures. When Jacob turns fifteen, his grandpa starts freaking out about monsters with tentacles that are supposedly coming for him. Jacob pushes it to the side it because of his grandfather's age and the fact he was in a war and that may cause him to have bad dreams. That turned out to
Jacobs’ ability to create images in your mind supports the suspenseful feeling. This is because we are to see what the characters are thinking. The readers can see their emotions, like when the White family is informed of Herbert’s death. The reader can see their expressions on their faces, just blank with no others feelings. “Caught in the machinery,” repeated Mr. White, in a dazed fashion, “yes”. He sat staring blankly out the window. By creating images in our head we can also what might happen, like when Mrs. White wished for Herbert to come back to life. You could imagine what his corpse would’ve looked like. Ripped up and walking which is creepy. These images would support the suspenseful feeling because you would get scared imagining a dead person at your front door.
There is a recurring trope cycling through the stories assigned for the class to read: what the reader perceives to be real and what the reader understands to be supernatural. The topics are not static and dependent upon the traditional ghost story narrative. In fact, the stories illustrate a range of supernatural themes from psychic foresight, omens of impending disaster, and possible poltergeist or demonic activity. When dealing with paranormal subjects, however, there is always the question whether the event is actually taking place or if there exists psychological elements that can explain the character’s perception of the phenomena.
I looked up at the black sky. I hadn't intended to be out this late. The sun had set, and the empty road ahead had no streetlights. I knew I was in for a dark journey home. I had decided that by traveling through the forest would be the quickest way home. Minutes passed, yet it seemed like hours and days. The farther I traveled into the forest, the darker it seemed to get. I was very had to even take a breath due to the stifling air. The only sound familiar to me was the quickening beat of my own heart, which felt as though it was about to come through my chest. I began to whistled to take my mind off the eerie noises I was hearing. In this kind of darkness I was in, it was hard for me to believe that I could be seeing these long finger shaped shadows that stretched out to me. I had this gut feeling as though something was following me, but I assured myself that I was the only one in the forest. At least I had hoped that I was.
The moment we stepped foot into the hospital, I could hear my aunt telling my mother that “he is in a better place now”. At that moment, something had already told me that my dad was deceased; it was like I could feel it or something. I felt the chills that all of a sudden came on my arms. As my mother and grandmother were both holding my hand, they took me into this small room. The walls were white, and it had a table with four tissue boxes sitting on the top. My other grandmother was there, and so were my two aunts, my uncles, and
It was dark that night, I was nervous that this dreadful day was going to get worse. Sunday, October 23, 1998 I wanted to start writing this to tell about the weird things i’m starting to see in this new neighborhood. Gradually I keep seeing pots and pans on the sink suddenly move to the floor. I would ask my sister but she is out with my mom and dad getting the Halloween costumes. When they got home I didn’t tell them what I saw because i've seen Halloween movies and I have to have dissimulation otherwise the ghost will come out and get me first. October 24, 1998 I think I got a little nervous yesterday with the whole ghost thing. 12:32pm, Went to eat lunch with the family today and I go to get my coat. I heard the words furious and madness,
