Most people wonder why people commit crimes like shoplifting. Well some do it because of Finances the most obvious of these reasons is that the person needs or wants something that they simply do not have the money for. This is offer the case with teens who are trying to keep up with trends and their peers. Sometimes people steal to meet their basic needs of food and clothing or to provide gifts for their children. Pressure younger kids and teens can be pressured by friends and peers to steal items in order to gain acceptance by certain groups or people. They tell you if you want to be liked and fit in they must steal things. Of juveniles who have shoplifted, 33 percent say that it is hard to stop. Approximately 25 percent of shoplifters are kids. Also people do it for attention, when there is problems at home a child or teen is left out they probably steal for the attention of someone or something. Very young children sometimes take things they want without understanding that things cost money and that it's wrong to take something without paying for it. Life is bursting with temptation everywhere and based on peer pressure, if you can’t get something you want you rather find another way to get it. Individuals of the community rather act out of action without thinking about it first, which can lead them to the severe consequences of their actions. Then you later think what I did was wrong, I could have prohibited that by doing it differently. Afterward, you feel a great deal of emotions running through your mind; encumbrance, sorrow, and helplessness. These reactions cause you to overthink and make you feel compunction than you already feel. At first you feel calm and assumed you can get away with it, but unfortunately it landed you nowhere but deeper in the grave. Even in its effects in “Shoplifting”
An example of someone who steals even though they can afford it is Winona Ryder. On November 6, 2002, Winona Ryder was found guilty of felony grand theft and vandalism for shop lifting $5,500 of merchandise from Beverly Hill's Saks Fifth Avenue in December of 2001. It was said that Ryder had "intent to steal" because "she brought her own burglary tools," including scissors to remove garment tags, a garment bag, and a plastic bag filled with nothing but tissue paper for wrapping up items.
I Daniella M. Genzale was caught shoplifting from Sephora in Roosevelt Field Mall. I put two items of makeup into my pocket book and walked out of the store passing all points of purchasing. When I left the store the security made us stop and ask us to give them what items were taken and don't pretend nothing was taken because he watched us. Then we walked back into the store with the security and they took us into the back room, once we were there he showed us the video of us taking the items and calculated how much was stolen all together. We were in the room for about an hour before the police officers came and hand cuffed us. At this point I was in tears crying, I was worried my mom was calling me and she was nervous. I still don't understand
Whenever you do not own something that everybody else owns, what can you do not to feel left out? I’ll answer that, most teens decide to steal. Delinquency results among these teens because lower-class values, or focal concerns, encourage behaviors defined as deviant by middle class standards. The delinquent teens do not know better, and sometimes do it to fit in. Also, once they can finally own something they never did their whole own life for free, they go for it. For many people living in poverty, crime is seen as the only opportunity for achieving a higher level of socioeconomic status. Delinquency rates rise daily due to poverty and the only ones we can blame is
When distinguishing between an occasional and professional criminal, what comes to mind is an embezzler and a booster. Embezzlers really do not consider themselves as thieves, on the contrary, they believe that they are just borrowing but with the intentions of not paying back. While committing the offense, this individual evaluates the risk of the crime and believes the punishment is worth jeopardizing their well-being. Whereas the booster is considered a professional criminal that steals for a profit. They conduct their illegal business as if it’s a commodity. Perhaps the person with the most potential danger such as the professional booster would resort to violence because the penalties out weight the offense. For instance, the booster could
...ommit crimes every day just for the sake of committing a crime; in other words, they have periods of no criminal behavior. So, their rational choice is to turn to burglary only when they are desperate for money. In essence, they have chosen burglary as their line of work.
When I think of crime I think of an action someone has done that society sees as unfit, whether that action is justifies by the person. Most of the time people don’t really care if the person was stealing so they could feed their family or stealing so they can pay for medical bills, a crime is a crime. Although crime is unlawful there usually is an origin. Some argue that it comes from desperation, which are the usual ordinary crimes you hear on the news, others believe it comes from greed. Where does this constant state of despair come from, research points to poverty. It’s widely known that neighborhoods that struggle in poverty are more likely to be prone to crime. The greed aspect comes from people wanting to make a profit so they join organizations that revolve around crime, which would be organized crime. The greed that makes people do crime is brought by organized crime, while others firmly believe that crime comes from the desperation that poverty causes.
In just 2016 alone, there was hundreds of thousands of petty crimes. Additionally, that same year, there were 200 violent crimes including, attempted kidnappings, stabbings, shootings, and murders. Walmart’s cost cutting measures have resorted in not enough security personnel, out of date video cameras, or just lack of video cameras in general. These cost cutting measures are directly related to their low profit margins.
Shoplifting is a major problem in today. The temptation of not paying for something, just hiding it away and saving your own money is a large factor for some people. The culprit just thinks he's getting a product for free and doesn't know what he's actually doing to himself and the community. Shoplifting effects everyone, yourself and the everyone in the local neighborhood. In this essay I'm going to explain some of the circumstances of stealing from local stores, or any store. After I've been caught stealing I found out how wrong it is and how it is a disadvantage to everyone.
Even though the question does not have a definitive answer to why juveniles commit crimes, we know that different factors contribute to the issue. In the book True Notebooks Mark the author not only explained his personal experience as a volunteer teacher at the juvenile hall, but also what he learned from his students and how his perspective changed regarding the juveniles as he spent more time with them. Mark also discovered that even though he was not aware of it, he was making a positive change in some of them and the fact that he was willing to teach them a writing class meant so much for some of the students, and most importantly Mark presented in the book the different reasons juveniles commit crime. As time passes our juvenile justice system changes, we are tending to focus on punishment rather than rehabilitation. In the book Sister Janet was one of the few people that believed that the juveniles deserve to be treated normal and received positive support that some of the juveniles did not receive at home.... ...

Desperate times lead to desperate measures. A man loses his job and has no money to feed his family. One might assume left with no other means the man might resort to stealing. The United States is currently in the midst of a recession so severe some speculate will last longer than the Great Depression. Various indicators of the economic health such as the unemployment rate and home foreclosures have reached their worst records in decades over the last several months. Given the state of the financial crisis law enforcement agencies have warned of increased criminal activity. Despite the economic turmoil and high levels of unemployment, crime rates have fallen significantly across the United States.

The reason why this is, is because the parents today are not. cutting it. They are not teaching their children the difference.
