According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission guideline (EEOC), sexual harassment involves unwelcome sexual advances either verbally or physically; it can also occur in the form of sexual requests or favors (Schneider, 1997). Sexual coercion and a hostile work environment are the two main categories of sexual harassment that occur in the workplace. Sexual coercion is also called “quid pro quo,” which means “this for that.” This form of sexual harassment involves requests for sexual favors which often includes briberies. Frequently, sexual coercion incorporates job-related threats, especially when an employee rejects the sexual favor. These threats are usually portrayed by a person of authority. Fighting for equalities such as gender equality be a threat to certain men. In the eyes of these men, feminism threatens male privilege, thus promoting the victimization of female supporters. On the other hand, men can also possess characteristics that increase the likelihood of sexual harassment. Heterosexual men who support the feminist theory are seen as a betrayal to the gender hierarchy. Societal pressures state that men must conform to masculine norms and if not, they are a threat to society. Another category of people who are most likely to be victimized are homosexual men. People who are oppressed and or discriminated in other areas of their lives are more likely to support the feminist theory. The reasoning for this is because these people have an unfortunate understanding of inequality and are more likely to see oppression in different areas of society, even if that area doesn’t pertain to them. For example, a gay male is more likely to see oppression against women since he faces oppression for his sexual orientation. All in all, anyone can be a victim of sexual harassment in the workplace, but certain categories of people are more
