I have never faced many difficult obstacles in my life till I reached senior year of high school. 2014 through 2015 was the most challenging time of my life; I even experienced stress. In those years I had to worry about completing college applications, work in a stressful environment, and worry about flunking my last marking period. It was senior year, and that was the year when my stress kicked in. Every night I had to stay up till three in the morning just to finish my college essays. Sometimes I did not even go to sleep just so I can finish writing the perfect essay. Next, I had to worry about teacher recommendations. Every day was a constant battle finding a teacher who can write me a recommendation letter. Every teacher that I went to either told me no or that they are busy. When it was the last week of the application deadlines I found three teachers who were able to write me recommendation letters in time. After that nightmare, I had to deal with SAT scores being sent to colleges. College Board took weeks to send my scores to colleges since I did not have enough money to use the rush shipping option. I kept on slacking off in one my class, which was anatomy. I had to ask my teacher to let me redo all the missing assignments, so I could pick up my grade in that class. She decided to give me a second chance, so she gave me a stack of the missing assignments. The deadline was due by the end of the week, and that was the week I had work, and a test for ap government. I was stressing out that I was not going to finish the assignments because work was interfering with my homework and studying time. I had to stay up till midnight just to finish the homework, and after that I stood up till three just so I can study for the ap government test. I had to memorize many definitions, and charts so I can at least get a B on that test. That night was a lesson for me; never again shall I slack
I visited the Ronald McDonald House on September 15, to meet a family that was staying there because they had a very ill child. I was there to interview Mr. and Mrs. Davis who’s had their five-year-old son, John was at Children’s Mercy Hospital. The Davis family was there because John has leukemia and needed chemotherapy. When I first met John, I was at a loss for words. I saw a five-year-old boy that didn’t have any hair (like me) and was thin like a cable wire. I thought it was great that John got to say with his family on good days. What amazed me so much was his spirit and thrust for life. Because they had faith in their little boy getting better, his parents were very much the same. I asked them what made them so upbeat and positive. They told me that they were getting the best treatment around and being close to him everyday really helped. I didn’t quite understand what they meant and asked them to explain. They told me that staying at the RMH with their son meant everything to the whole family. Instead of being in a hospital bed, or hotel room, the Davis’s kept close and were able to do everything that a family would do. Such things included playing with toys, having meals together, taking walks, enjoying closeness with one’s family, and all in the comfort of a home.
For example, this past summer was very stressful, but because of running I was able to get through it. Later in the summer I was working from nine in the morning, to five in the afternoon, at a job I did not enjoy. Furthermore, I also had to plan my Eagle Scout Project with people that barely knew how to work their phones. I had offered to design and create a path behind the Presbyterian Church, but this was easier said than done. As if these two things weren’t stressful
Anxiety ran throughout my entire body the morning before my first class of college began. Not knowing what to expect of my professors, classmates, and campus scared me to death. I knew the comparison to senior year of high school and freshman year of college would be minute, but never did it occur to me how much more effort was need in college until that morning, of course. It’s very surprising to be honest. If I rewind my life to the very beginning of junior year, I would have never suspected that I would encounter multiple hardships one after another, each excessively worse than the last. Yes, junior year was extremely tough domestically and socially but little did I know that my horrid problems at home would affect me academically. Undeniably it was my will power and my strong belief in never giving up which steered my grades and my life to the straight path and made me realize that mistakes happen in life for a reason, they happen so we can learn from them, so we can share our story with others and help them avoid the hardships we encountered. When I reminisce at my junior year, I don’t extract sadness or failure, I see the rejuvenation and the revival of a talented individual who encountered a slight obstacle on the road of life.
My Senior year in High School has officially begun, only one more year at Corona High. I know that Senior year is supposed to be fun, but I believe every year is an opportunity to improve. I have already set my goals for this school year. I believe I can achieve a GPA of 4.0 or above. However, there are some personal goals that I need to complete first. I need to stop my terrible habit of procrastinating. Another goal of mine is to pass my AP tests so I can earn college credit. I also want to learn new things, so I started to learn the basics of Coding, now I need to finish this course. These are some things I look to accomplish this year.
By the time I was a senior, I began concentrating more on my studies, and less on other things. Once I started applying myself, my grades improved, and so did my attitude about my education. Senior year flew by before I knew it, and I still had to take my SAT's. I was sick with bronchitis, but had to take them because it was the last available date. I struggled through them, knowing that if I had only not waited until the last minute, I could have redone them when I was healthy.

Which were Ap US History, Physics, and English not to mention having a Math 140 zero period class and a Network+ computer course outside of school which made me have a busy schedule. Nevertheless I learned and gain a lot of new knowledge throughout my Junior year.

Everyone deals with stress at some point in his or her life. Most people deal with it daily. As defined in the book called Principles and Labs for Fitness and Wellness, stress is, “The mental, emotional, and physiological response of the body to any situation that is new, threatening, frightening, or exciting” (Hoeger & Hoeger, 2012). This stress is caused by a stressor, which is also known as “a stress-causing event” (Hoeger & Hoeger, 2012). Stressors can take all different forms, from moving to a new town, having a baby, or even writing a paper (Boyd, Wood, & Wood, 2011). One major stressor in life can be going to college. If not coped with properly, these stressors can leave a person with too much stress that could end up harming them mentally and physically, such as developing an illness (Boyd, Wood, & Wood, 2011). There are several ways to cope with stress. Some healthy ways to cope with stress would be practicing emotion-focused coping, building time-management techniques, and practicing meditation.
