In the search for knowledge and truth, there are times in which assumed experts provide insubstantial and useless, if not uneducated, opinions and guidance on their assumed field of expertise. In most of these cases, the assumed expert is not truly an expert. An expert is one who is highly knowledgeable and skillful in a particular field, through an unusually large amount of experience, training, and studies, to the point that he or she is sought after to receive opinions, guidance, and wisdom on the particular field by people that are not highly knowledgeable and skillful on the particular field. A definition equal to the previous one for ‘expert’ is, a master in a particular field. The opinions of true experts in their particular field of expertise are very important and should be highly valued in the search for knowledge.
People are able to seek guidance and educated opinions from experts because of the vast and lengthy expertise in their field. People, contrastingly do not normally seek the opinions of non-experts because they lack sufficient knowledge, experience, and wisdom to be able to give educated and worthy opinions on the supposed field of interest. Experts, however, have enough knowledge and experience to give worthy opinions and ideas for the search for knowledge and greater understandings in the particular fields of interest. Both Payton Manning and Tom Brady are expert quarterbacks. Peyton Manning’s “anticipation and accuracy are virtually unmatched because he throws the ball before defenders are ready and puts it in a place where only his guy can catch it” (Tucker 3). Tom Brady was an incredible leader who put up astounding numbers at times while seemingly willing his team to multiple Super Bowl titles...

“Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are the preeminent QBs of their generation (Battista and Breer).” Two quarterbacks, from two completely different backgrounds, are fighting for supremacy among all the men to quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). Football in the day and age today is a landscape unlike a few centuries ago. On paper just about any coach in the NFL would start Peyton Manning, former first pick in the 1998 draft, over Tom Brady, former one hundred and ninety ninth pick in the 2000 draft, just based on where each player was selected. Looks, although appealing, doesn’t reflect the careers of two of the greatest QBs in NFL history. Manning is a former number one selection, who has done nothing but live up to and exceed expectations. Brady was selected five rounds later at one hundred and ninety nine, and has done nothing but turned doubters into believers. In the midst of the madness, which player stands forsaken as the greatest quarterback of their generation?
In “The Death of Expertise” the author, Tom Nichols, expresses his concerns and fears about the ignorant public and their views on experts and the things they are experts in. Nichols states that, in today’s society, a backlash of hate and anger will ensue when the public is faced with an “assertion of expertise.” Nichols argues that people resent the thought of being wrong or different opinions “altering their own thoughts and changing the way they live.” Nichols states that even though everyone has equal rights, not everyone is an equal expert, which the public does not receive well. Nichols voices his worries about the “death of the expert” the bridge that separated the experts from the general public has collapsed and with it the idea that the experts know what they are talking about. The idea Nichols is trying to convey is not the “death of actual expertise,” instead what he fears had died is “any acknowledgement of expertise as anything that should alter our thoughts or change the way we live.” (Nichols, 1) There will always be experts in various fields; however people have stopped listening to them in order to protect their own opinions.
Coaching any sport is much harder than it seems. There are some jobs that almost anyone with the right education can do. Coaching is definitely not one of those jobs. One can get educated on drawing X's and O's on a paper for decades and still might be far from being a successful coach. Of course knowledge of the sport is very important too but to be successful in a job like coaching, one has to dedicate himself to his job; his job has to be his life. This is the major reason even those who hate Patriots still respect Bill Belichick and agree that he had unique abilities that make him so successful. His exceptional intelligence, his ability to break down and exploit game film, his singular discipline and his almost unmatched work ethic makes him probably the best coach in the NFL today and even one of the best in the history of the NFL.
How we approach the question of knowledge is pivotal. If the definition of knowledge is a necessary truth, then we should aim for a real definition for theoretical and practical knowledge. Methodology examines the purpose for the definition and how we arrived to it. The reader is now aware of the various ways to dissect what knowledge is. This entails the possibility of knowledge being a set of truths; from which it follows that one cannot possibly give a single definition. The definition given must therefore satisfy certain desiderata , while being strong enough to demonstrate clarity without losing the reader. If we base our definition on every counter-example that disproves our original definition then it becomes ad hoc. This is the case for our current defini...

In every field of study that exists, experts research, test, and reach conclusions; later they often debate, their ideas clashing to see which holds the most merit and which is the best to continue researching. This is the basis of our understandings, turning the personal knowledge of experts into shared knowledge that can be used to better the lives of everyone, and this comes from the disagreements in our Areas of Knowledge (AoKs). Before we delve further, we need to define some terms. Facts are understood as something that is the case, or as information that makes a sentence true. Experts are understood to be people that possess a significant amount of knowledge in an area at a greater level than the general public, and discipline is understood
Everybody who thinks that Tom Brady isn’t the best Quarterback says that Tom Brady has Bill Belichick and Joe Montana had Jerry Rice. Well to oppose that Jerry Rice can play, and is known to be the best Wide Receiver that ever played in the NFL. Bill Belichick is known to be one of the best coaches that has ever coached, but he can’t play on the field with Tom Brady. Tom Brady was also the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, and was benched his senior year in the Playoffs. In his second season he went into a game when Drew Bledsoe got hit by Mo Lewis one of the Jets’ Linebackers’ and couldn’t come back into the game. Tom Brady then lead his team Super Bowl XXXVI that ended up in a victory. Brady is the only player to go to seven Super Bowls, and has been named MVP four out of the five times. With 11:06 left in the 4th quarter Brady threw to Randy Moss up the right sideline for his 50th touchdown pass which is the second most in regular season touchdown passes in NFL history. In that same season he only threw 8

Part (3) explain what expertise and resources a professional in your chosen profession would need in order to meet the needs your profession
“To me, football is so much about mental toughness, it‘s digging deep, it's doing whatever you need to do to help a team win and that comes in a lot of shapes and forms” (Tom Brady). Yearly they go against each other usually in big games and people compare them too Larry Bird and Magic Johnson (Maxymuk 92). Even though Peyton Manning has better stats, Tom Brady is expected to pass Peyton. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are similar in stats, accomplishments, and Super Bowl’s.
