The reason I say yes is because, the athletes have to be on the honor roll to play sports. The athletes have to be passing their classes to play sports.
As Americans, we must take action against(or for) the issue of maintaining good grades while wanting to pursue an athletic career in high school. The reason being is because of untapped potential, bad time management skills, and peer pressure. There are many people who are affected by this issue such as students athletes, their parents/ guardian and the school itself. Lets not forget the hard working coaches that are counting on your presence you don’t wont to let them down.
It was a huge problem in Israel by that time. But God did not allow it to grow, He showed His judgement for not being social justice according to the laws of Moses. It is not hard to find in Ezekiel 16. “As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, your sister Sodom and her daughters never did what you and your daughters have done. Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen (Ezekiel 16: 48-50).” It is a great example that people could see God’s divine judgment. From Moses laws, it is clearly that the better to do is to help, and God did bless those who bless the less fortunate. There is another example in Ruth 2, Boaz blessed Ruth and telling her that “You will listen, my daughter, will you not? Do not go glean in another field, nor go from there, but stay close by my young women (Ruth 2:8).” However, Israel failed in this test, and they suffered God’s punishment because of that. It could be even more obvious during modern time. Sometimes, God set up a tiny goal that He wants His people to achieve. But His followers did not follow Him as His wished. Because of the technology developing so fast, it is easier for nowadays people being not socially. People use social media to contact with each other, when they are ten centimeters from each other.
A unique facet to the nationwide college athlete discourse surrounds the rigorousness of their academic standards. Supporters of the current standards cite that student-athletes must meet the same minimum GPA as traditional students. Although the GPA requirements differ depending on the institution, the students must make progress toward graduating based on a schedule established by the NCAA. Violating the rules can result in ineligibility. Bill Hawkins, a professor at the University of Georgia, points out that student-athletes must also adhere to the same admission standards as other students, despite many athletes coming from poorly funded public schools.
Around the country, college athletic programs are pushing their athletes more and more every day. The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) is an association set up to regulate the athletic programs of colleges in the United States and Canada such as eligibility, sportsmanship, and play. Due to NCAA rules, the “student” comes first in “student athlete.” This means that in order to be a full time student, 12 credit hours a semester are required, and in order to compete in athletics, students must maintain a core GPA of 2.3 or higher. It may seems easy right now but throw in lifting, games and practices, along with team meetings, and you’ve got yourself a full time job on the side.
Success isn’t given, it’s earned on the track, on the field, and in the gym with blood, sweat, and the occasional fear” -Unknown. This is relevant because it is hard for students to want to play sports but also to do well in school. If high school students can’t find the time to keep their grades up or to keep a certain GPA, they should not be allowed to play sports. Students need to prove themselves to be able to play any sport and still be able to do well in school. Also, having good grades shows the coach maturity and may earn them more playing time if they are working hard in school and in practice.
...alem during a time of crisis and keep it from the destruction during Scennacherib's siege. Although initially disguised as a religious reform, one can argue that Hezekiah's reinstatement of the tithe described in the Book of Chronicles (i.e., 2 Chronicles 31: 4-12) was actually Hezekiah's ploy to accumulate a stock pile of supplies to ensure that Jerusalem would withstand a potential siege. Although tithes of resources were also seen in ancient times, the biblical tradition states that the accumulated resources given by the people of Jerusalem were not sacrificed for to Yahweh but instead stored within the temple's store houses (2 Chronicles 31: 9-12). For this reason, it is possible that the nature of this reform was in fact secular in nature instead of a purely religious reforms because Hezekiah may have been planning to use these resources in a time of need.
The prophets were sensitive to the voice of the Spirit of God and when the people of Israel began to deviate in idolatry God has to reveal to His prophets in this case the prophet Hosea, the unclean and detestable it was for God that his people go afte...
There is more to every student than just their standardized test scores and cumulative GPA. Behind every test score and credit earned is the person who achieved those scores all while living a life. The behind the scenes of every students’ life is the most important part. It is what makes that 4.03 GPA even more exceptional, when the events that took place during that time are unknown. The struggles that were overcome and how every student did the best they could during that time.
Muhammad was the Prophet of the God. He was the last and final Prophet. His sudden death in 632 CE marked a time of challenge for Muslims as they faced the uncertainty of the future. The most imminent challenge the Muslim community faced was the prospect of who would be the heir to Muhammad. Who was the rightful heir? There was much divide on this subject throughout the Muslim community between the Sunnis and the Shi`a. Along with the uncertainty of who the authority of Islam would now be, the challenge of what kind of authority they would bring also plagued Muslims. Islam was still a developing religion amongst the already dominant religions of Judaism and Christianity so the Muslim community now had the challenge of still expanding their
Ezekiel’s message and profile as a prophet ended after twenty years. This is the same as that of Daniel and Jeremiah. Another similarity was that these prophets saw their prophesies come true and thus, they feared God even more. Jeremiah witnesses the prophesied destruction of Jerusalem and as it were, Daniel experienced the earlier invasion by Nebuchadnezzar, and was taken into captivity. The main approach in Ezekiel, bring out the notion that every individual has his own responsibility to God and the rules or laws of God. Ezekiel mentions, subtly, that God will punish individuals for personal transgressions. In contrast, earlier prophets had insisted on collective punishment for groups of people and punishment and sins of a nation as compared to the individual.
...leadership them telling them to not expect a swift return to Jerusalem, but to build homes and starts businesses. During the worst days of the siege in 588B.C.E. Jeremiah purchased some ancestral land. With this act he was affirming his deepest faith in Yahweh that he would not abandon his people and remove them from the Promised Land forever. Jerusalem finally fell in 587B.C.E. actualizing Jeremiah's fears and predictions. Jeremiah was captured during the fall but was later released to travel where he pleased. After the assassination of Gedaliah in 582B.C.E., Jeremiah was forced to travel with refugees to Egypt where he continued to prophesize until his death.
In conclusion, it can be seen that the prophets spoke the word of God for the benefit of Israel’s spiritual condition. Even though the prophets had spoken many times of great sin bring the anger of God with His great wrath, their message always included God’s love that gave hope through repentance.
...es are poor should not be able to play their sport. The NCAA understands this and implemented a rule that states student athletes must maintain a 2.3 grade point average or they will not be eligible for athletics. This is a good start on the path to helping student athletes learn to prioritize academic over athletics. However, in the future the NCAA could raise the minimum required grade point average to a 2.5 or even higher. Some colleges in our country need to do a better job of enforcing these rules. There have been cases reported in which colleges kept their student athletes eligible even when they were struggling academically. This is not acceptable and colleges should not hold back from punishing student athletes who aren’t succeeding in their academics.
Let us start with this statement: I believe that new preachers and new people to the Christian Faith try hard to avoid the Old Testament. If they do, they only look at one section and struggle to connect all the pieces together. One of the issues that makes people uncomfortable is the prophets. First, there is a definite volume of them, and then they are divided into “major” and “minor.” I think at the core of our hearts, we are trying to understand the difference among the different biblical prophets.
