Samsung Galaxy S8
I am going to talk this week about Samsung Galaxy S8. The new smartphone from Samsung that has been released 2 weeks ago. I chose this product since Samsung forced to recall its Galaxy Note 7 last year after some of the devices caught fire due to a fault with the battery.
Last year has not been a great year for Samsung. After its expensive recall, Samsung had no new high-end phone for the holiday season. As a result, according to IDC report, it fell to second place after Apple in sales in the last quarter of 2016 — and that's accounting for all of Samsung's phones, at all price points.
List of Samsung Galaxy S8 Features:
1. Infinity Display
The new Galaxy has a 5.8-Inch & 6.2-Inch with bezel-less; it has a clean unbranded

This phone does not have a physical home button. It does have a fingerprint scanner, as well as face-scanning capabilities. The fingerprint scanner is now on the back of the phone.
3. BETTER SELFIE CAMERA
New feature came to the Galaxy S8’s photo-snapping capabilities. The selfie camera now captures 8-megapixel photos with an f/1.7 lens, and has autofocus capabilities.
4. FAST FACE SCANNING
Authentication through facial recognition has been a feature on Android phones and laptops for years now, but this is the first implementation made by Samsung itself. Considering that the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back, this kind of face-scanning tech could easily become the default mechanism for unlocking your phone.
5. BIXBY
It is 2017, and Samsung has finally introduced its own virtual assistant: Bixby. Samsung is positioning it as a virtual assistant that is largely focused on helping you get stuff done on the phone itself: you can set reminders, search through photo galleries, and cast your phone screen to your Wi-Fi-connected TV, all by pressing a dedicated Bixby button and talking to it.

VR support is built right in
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ support Gear VR, Samsung's virtual reality platform. It is one of the coolest virtual reality platforms out there, largely because it works well and it is practically free to own with the purchase of a Galaxy smartphone.
Samsung marketing strategy should focus on consumer’s awareness to highlight the phone’s main features. This should be through utilizing the social media and online advertisements that focus on the benefits of the new phone features to the customers. Samsung can use celebrities or social media marketers to talk about the value of each features’ benefits to them, and how having the new phone is added value on their daily use. This could be helpful to get Samsung image revival. For an instant, since the safety is very important for Samsung image revival, Samsung needs to focus on the new process that has been added to the line of production, which is 8-point safety check. In addition to the new refund policy, Samsung took an unprecedented marketing step of offering a three-month refund policy for who buy the Galaxy S8 (Reuters, T. 2017). I believe these steps definitely will help Samsung to regain its market share
"Act in order to exemplify an assortment of prudent or great character attributes thus as to maintain a strategic distance from horrible or terrible character qualities”. By being eager with their due dates, Samsung showed misguided thinking and poor character. The absence of control is what made them release a faulty product and further impatience is what made them release a defective substitution. Samsung at that point tried to conceal the damage to keep sales going on with no concern for Galaxy customers. The send out a risky substitution without analysing properly the deformities but they still carried on because of their own self-intrigue, with no regard for their
Apple did win the last quarter of 2014 for its major sales on the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, but Samsung quickly regained their spot back after the company’s older Galaxy phones sold at a vast rate, as a result of discounts and sales promotions.

For the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, we expect the sales to grow in the first quarter of year one. With people still suspect about the phone there won’t be a fixed demand on a per month basis. After a couple months pending no problems with the smartphone people will have their faith in Samsung again and purchase the Galaxy Note 8. After the first year, we expect the Galaxy Note 8 to reach a profit of 1 billion dollars. During this section, I will explain the sales forecast for each month and for the next 3 years. Also, I will discuss the breakeven analysis of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the cost to build the smartphone, how much we are willing to pay for expenses and what expense we focus on the most.
While profits from semiconductor sales are keeping stakeholders happy, Samsung is pursuing a differentiation strategy in the smartphone market. The managers are committing more resources to researching something they think will revolutionize phones. author name writes, “All smartphone makers face the issue of stagnancy in hardware innovation. Samsung is currently working on developing a smartphone with foldable displays…” (Tanner). There has not been a ground-breaking development in smart phones in the last few years, so the managers believe
With the Galaxy S7 you can do all of the above with ease with just a click of the camera. The dual camera from the iPhone 7s can come close to the feats of the Galaxy but still cannot match it nor surpass it. They are open to try it on their next upgrade.
Samsung will also include consumers, as key external stakeholders, in the research and development focus groups to best incorporate consumer opinion and demand into areas of the project including development, marketing, and distribution. This will help Samsung create and deliver a product that the customers want. It will also help identify consumer needs for the new smartphone’s use as consumer inputs will help shape and drive the technological innovations that Samsung is aiming to deliver with its new smartphone.

The 5.5-inch display didn’t get a bump in resolution. It is still at 1080x1920 pixels and is an LED-backlit IPS LCD display. The brightness is 25% more on the new iPhone and is a tad richer compared to the iPhone 6S. Even though other flagships come with a QHD resolution, Apple has decided to stay put with Full HD. This is a bit of a disappointment considering the hefty price tag that the phone comes at.
