According to the “STAR SHEET – Effective Room Arrangement” teachers should follow 4 strategies that help them to set up the classroom rules, procedures and arrangements. Minimizing distractions, maximizing access, matching arrangement, and movement with ease make possible a better environment for students and teacher. These strategies will help the teacher to have control over the students and reduce misbehaving. In the case study, these four students will be located in the following order.
Robert is going to be in the letter C desk. He needs to be close to the chalkboard because he needs to see demonstrations. He likes to help to de teacher and he is easily to distract. The strategy that feet him is MINIMIZING DISTRACTIONS. Desk “D”, is
far from the window, door, and computer, the only thing close to him is the chalkboard, and the only tool he need for the class. Latisha is going to be in the letter E desk. She is far from the computer, the device that distracts her. Also, she is going to be close to the teacher because she usually pretends to be on task when she is not doing anything. The strategy to follow with her is to MINIMIZE DISTRACTIONS. If she seat in this desk the teacher will be able to check if she is on task or no. Helen will be seat in the back of the room in letter “Q” desk. Is necessary to seat her at the end of the class because in case she decides to interrupt the class will not see her and de interruption is going to brief. A possible strategy is MINIMAZING DISTRACTIONS. Pablo is capable to work individually, and in groups. He can be seat in any place of the room (example, letter J, except next to Latisha. He has a crush with her, and this is not good in the classroom, may cause disruptions and interfere with the learning process. A possible strategy is MINIMAZING DISTRACTIONS.

I really enjoyed The University of Alabama’s version of The Dining Room. It was one of the best plays I’ve ever seen, and I don’t really like plays. The actors, director, and production crew did a very good job of bringing everything together. Everything was on time, the lighting was great, the actors were great, and the entire show was phenomenal. However, out the entire cast one person in particular stood out the most to me. Her name was Mary Catherine Waltman and she played Grace, Peggy, and Sarah which were some of my favorite characters.

When teachers have the mindset of accommodating their classrooms, they reduce the need for making more individualized adaptations, unless necessary for particular students. The most important aspects to maintaining an orderly and effective classroom environment are organization, grouping, instructional materials, and strategies to promote successful students.
The space and area in which a child is learning must be accommodating to all of their needs. A responsive environment is a space of any size that is set up and presented in a manner that promotes social-emotional development, physical development, spiritual development, intellectual/cognitive and language/literacy skills. It is important that the class or room promotes a healthy learning environment which allows the children to be independent while still pushing their skills and abilities. Environments are able to shape and direct a child’s learning experience, “We now know that the environment is a valuable teacher if it is amiable, comfortable, pleasing, organized, clean, inviting and engaging…This is true of floor space, ceiling, and wall space” (Krentz, Emerita, & University of Regina, 2013, p.44).
The classroom that I observed in was arranged in a simple way. In the dramatic play center there was a long coat rack and each hook was labeled with an image and name of the outfit. This was done so the children know where do place the clothing when they are done with it or cleaning up. Also in this center was a cash register, puppets, an oven, refrigerator, ironing board, sing, dishwasher, a table set and a comfy chair. Their block center was small, and sectioned off by a shelf and an arch way in the corner of the room. In this center there was also a table. I felt that they children would not have enough room to build although I did not measure the area. The art center had stamps, children’s art work, an easel, magazines and other essential art supplies. In the same area as the art center was the writing center. In this center was maps, chalk and chalk board, stencils, a ruler, notepads, loose paper and pencils.
When building a classroom, the indoor learning environment will be influenced by the building and play area that surrounds the building. A classroom needs to have adequate space for children to play, explore and learn. Children need to have continuous access to water, bathrooms and a sink for handwashing. Although each room or center will be different they need to maintain areas that are easily and safely supervised from all areas of the classroom. The space needs to be organized into learning centers with well-defined areas. Areas such as science, art, sensory, bathrooms and eating areas need to be near a water source. Other areas such as block areas, library and housekeeping should be kept in areas with large area rugs or carpet.
The classroom embodied the stereotypical music classroom with its various instruments scattered around the room. Every inch of the wall and door was covered with music notes while chairs encircled the room. Besides the teacher’s desk, there were no other desks in sight. The students had to sit on the ground in the center of the room away from the instruments. Even when playing instruments, the students sat on the ground. Although the setup was very different from a general classroom, it was appropriate for the kinds of lessons that the teacher taught the students. The teacher did not hand out any worksheets or assigned homework so the students did not need any desks for writing. Since the classroom was already small and cramped, having desks in the class would have impeded on the activities that the students performed.

First, I would like to describe this room specifically. There are five tables for studying, one of tables was provided only for a student to use, and others were used by many students. Such as a group study, they would complete teamwork together. Discussion and analyzing were their favor. When they were talking about studying, it was not too loud to keep quite environment. At the same time, they have very comfortable chairs, which were soft and wide. A lot of students have experienced its feeling. If people seat on a satisfied position, they would have to fill in a sense of passion of learning. However, there were also some sofas near the windows. People can have a break or study on sofa. And on the wall, we can see plenty of pictures, which were about the history of the U.S. navy. The warships model was putted on a desk. Student can visit the warship model and study the history about American history.
