TORONTO, January 28, 2015 – Ryerson president Sheldon Levy was on hand Wednesday afternoon to unveil the university’s newly built Student Learning Centre located on Yonge and Gould. The facility will look to provide a “bright, open, and technologically rich” learning environment for students of all programs (Ryerson Media Release). The dazzling glass structure was completed just 3 years after its ground breaking back in May 2012. The $112 million facility covers 155,463 square-feet and was designed by the renowned architectural team of Zeidler Partnership Architects of Toronto and Snøhetta of Oslo, Norway and New York City. The new eight-level Student Learning Centre will be a refreshing addition to Yonge Street as it aims to feature retail space further adding to the ever-growing and diverse business environment. Point Loma Nazarene University is a private, Christian Institute that offers high education while developing students on their spiritual journeys. The university has an established community living agreement in which all incoming students must accept and abide by while furthering their education. Our current project, "The W.J. Bryan Primary Learning Center", under construction, is located a block away from the main building, to house a pre-k and eight kindergarten classes. In addition, an administrator, lead teacher, cafeteria, and complete office staff will staff the new center. Its doors are scheduled to open to staff, students, and parents in April, 1998.
In approaching the TD Centre one is immediately smitten and sucked into modernist architecture. This is more obvious when ...
Opponents of free post secondary education tend to believe that the establishment of free post secondary education will never happen because it will be too expensive for the federal and state governments to maintain in long-term. As a result, free post secondary education can lead to a great impact on Canadian economy, students’ success in life and environmental issues.

Freshman learning communities (FLC) are programs where 15 to 30 first-year students register for several general-education courses that focus on a common theme (Jaffee, 2004). Although there are several different types of learning communities, they all are designed for the same purposes. One of the main purposes in implementing freshman learning communities is to assist the students in their transition to a new environment. This acclimation involves becoming better acquainted with the other students, faculty members, campus culture, and academic expectations. However, with freshman learning communities also come negative aspects. Both facets must be evaluated to determine if freshman learning communities are effective.

In conclusion, the designers and builders of the tower have an undesirable job: creating a building that is functional, modern, sustainable and unique. At the same time it is honoring the memory of the people that died in and around the buildings that stood there before. While the green sustainable features have been criticized for being too expensive, they will do more than save just water, electricity and emissions. They and the grace of the building will inspire a generation of green and safe skyscrapers for the twenty-first century. This building has become one of the safest, environmentally friendly and expensive ever built, but as critics slate the building for various reasons, one cannot take away the determination through political, social and economic status that designers and workers have created such a beautiful building with great meaning.
Ryerson has many different student services that provide a quality student experience. The four service offers I find the most interesting are the student financial assistance, international student services, student learning support, and student housing services. The student financial assistance is meant to be support students in regards to financial needs during the time at Ryerson. They provide guidance, information, tools, and services, especially on the website and in person. Business students could benefit academically from ‘getting connected’ to this resource by relief of being secured in terms of tuition and can focus on grades. They can benefit professionally by being supported by a program that will put them in position to succeed. And they will benefit personally by being finically
