Ruby Cooper is your average seventeen year old girl. She’s annoyed at the world and slightly hates everyone. She’s hit a couple of rough patches along the road and they’ve all defined who she is now. She has a very unique personality in which she’s very closed off but is also very lonely. She hates feeling alone but won’t particularly reach out to anyone. Although she won’t admit it, she’s in need of someone who will fight for her and show her they truly care. In consequence of her mother’s bad parenting and always having Ruby do everything for them, she’s grown up to be a very independent person who will never ask for help even when she’s in a lot of need for it. She’s grown up to believe that families aren’t meant to legitimately be together …show more content…
and that no one truly cares about you unless they need something from you. She definitely has her trust issues and feels she can only share so much with someone before they turn against her so she prefers to just not talk about herself. Ruby’s personality is one that gets her through her rough years but it’s also kept her from experiencing any kind of good in her life. Part of it is because of her mother and the other part is because she’s so comfortable with being so miserable that she doesn’t want to change. Ruby’s character has strengths and weaknesses like everyone else.
With her weaknesses towering over her strengths, it’s a bit of a struggle for Ruby. Her independence can be both of a strength and a weakness for her and throughout the book you see them both. She’s so used to doing things on her own that she refuses help at all times and can’t actually realize when she really does need the help. It’s also a strength because she knows how to pull her own and doesn’t rely on anyone else to come to her rescue because she knows she can do it on her own. Her stubbornness is another weakness, she’s very insistent and very rarely does she ever admit she’s wrong. That causes many people throughout the book to find her rather rude because she won’t ever acknowledge it but instead believes that they’re in the wrong. Her main weakness is definitely not allowing people to care for her. Whenever she feels someone trying to become close with her, she has the need to push them away until they no longer want to care. An important strength of hers would be the fact that she can take everything as it is and doesn’t complain about it. It’s evident throughout the story that whenever she’s faced with some sort of conflict, she pushes her way through it without a single complaint. Despite the fact that it’s considerably sad that she has more weaknesses than strengths, it’s all due to the fact of how she was
raised. Throughout the story, you see how Ruby’s character matures. In the beginning, she was a young teenager who just wanted to get away from it all and wanted to live and be on her own. She didn’t want any help, nonetheless any friends or companions. Ruby was the sort of girl who worked hard for everything she wanted and didn’t want to owe anyone any sort of favor. But once she befriended Nate, her attitude all changed. She learned to cherish every moment and to appreciate everything she had. She also learned that everything happens for a reason and that sometimes it’s okay to ask for help. She cultivated the basis that it’s not necessary to constantly be pushing people away and to accept it when someone wants to care for her. By the end of the story she’s an improved version of herself. She no longer feels helpless or lost but she feels like she’s finally found herself all because of the people around her who care about her.
Ruby Archuleta makes the biggest difference in bringing the community together. Ruby is the only member of the community to take intuitive and start fighting for the rights of the Milagro citizens. While everyone is waiting around to see what will happen, Ruby gets to work. She understands that the first step in defeating the greedy endeavors of Ladd Devine will be to seek legal advice. Ruby Bridges is a girl known for her courageous actions. Ruby went to a school that would discriminate colored people in the 1960s. She was the first African American to go to an all white school. Ruby Bridges was an American activist who became a symbol of the civil rights movement. An activist is someone who campaigns to bring about political or social change.
Ruby Turpin is not an entirely lovable character. In fact, her attitude seems quite sour at times. Throughout Flannery O’Connor’s Revelation, she is portrayed as harsh and judgmental. And until the end, she seems to be under the impression that she is a saint. Nevertheless, while her attitude in reality is far from what she perceives, I believe there is a place for her in the communion of saints.
Strength is the only reason Phoenix accomplished her journey and Phoenix's love for her only living relative is her greatest strength of all. Although the old Negro woman suffers from many handicaps, she starts her journey mentally prepared for the obstacles awaiting her. Phoenix uses her inner strengths and prevails over every barrier. She relies on her trustworthy feet to make up for her impaired vision. Her wit makes up for her frail body. Her determination makes up for her aged memory. But most of all, her love for her grandson her keeps her going. Clearly, the frail, forgetful, and loving old woman can overcome anything.
We can start by identifying barriers and creating a plan to work through them. We deal with everything that has been laid out, one step at a time. Kerrie was fortunate to live in a home where her father was present. He did not always make the best decisions, but he was present and as we see in the film, he loved her. They spent quality time together working on cars.
Disconnecting from these families, however, is harder than the woman makes it seem. She likes the feeling of opening her door and “finding a little boy or girl
...he shows us her character, not by how she gives herself respect, but by the continued respect that she gives to others: even her tormenters. Her secret shame was kept inside, and it was an impossible burden to bear. She was brave.
One of the greatest people I ever met is Leslie Soberanis. Leslie is 19 years old Hispanic girl that try to help people in critical situations. She is 5ft 1-inch-tall, brown eyes that have always counter line make-up around them, and dark hair. Leslie said that she has been living in Chicago since “I was born here.” Leslie is a fourth child in her family, she is a youngest from all of the girls. Her personality is the very quiet girl who tries to be very polite to everyone that she knows. She likes to run a lot, every time when you call her she always running. Also, she likes to be with her family at home relaxing. Right now
Many people go to schools and don't worry about black or white people around the schools and everyone gets along and are in the same class . Everyone cares for each other and play sports together too . But a long time ago they cared what your skin color was and would not let blacks or whites go to the same school . But a girl changed our world by letting blacks into all white schools and her name was Ruby Bridges . She helped blacks and whites go to the same school it was not as easy as you think just because the color of her skin there have been a lot of problems like for example protesting that had been a problem for when she went to school
...e overcame that. As expressed in the journal, Rihanna had many thoughts on her mind and was going through so much stress but she still had the power to gain her strength and confidence to overcome her obstacles. Critics believe that Rihanna is trying to discover herself and figure out who she really is as a person. I believe Rihanna is just putting on a act and is fooling everybody so she can make that money.
She stands a staggering 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs a massive 95 pounds, and has short, brown hair and brown eyes. I see my older sister Leslie. Others see a model of perfection. Don't get me wrong, my sister and I are close and have been inseparable since birth. My mother has kept pictures of us ranging from the time we shared a playpen as babies to just recently at Leslie's graduation. For seventeen years, we've shared every life experience imaginable, and we've dealt with the trials and tribulations that come with growing up. But in September, she left home to attend the University of California at Irvine, leaving me to face life alone. However, it gave me the opportunity to live life by myself as Ryan, instead of Leslie's little brother.
Moreover, she’s a pain hider. She hid sorrow from the whole world all her life, built over it and stood headstrong every single time.
Traits Katniss Everdeen is very determined. If she wants to do something, she tries until she achieves it. This is proved when Katniss wins the Hunger Games after she is told that she should try to win, by Prim, her sister and throughout the games she remembers these words and kind of uses them as her guide. She is also very strong in both mental and physical ways. Her worst character trait is that she lets kind people root into her, so if someone pretends to be kind she will let them root in which means she lets them know about her and becomes easygoing with them.
I don’t know where I would be without my best friend. The person who keeps me sane when my family is driving me crazy, or the person who will stay up with me all night to support me when I have a last minute paper due in a class; I don’t know where I would be without that support. I found this support in my best friend, my sister from another father, Regina. Regina is an eccentric, overbearing, lover of all things natural type of girl. She lives life to the fullest and never backs down from a challenge. She is funny, full of whit and sharper than a tack fresh out of the box. Although it hasn’t always been a smooth road for us we still remain friends to this day.
However, an alternative interpretation of Dickinson's poem could be the idea that the experience of life is relative, and what is seen as a problem to one person may be seen as a blessing to another – Ruby's predicament in being pregnant whilst possessing an intense dislike towards anything relating to motherhood. Despite believing that she is superior over others, including her own brother who is 'good for absolutely nothing', her own accomplishments only came about through her dependence on Bill Hill, despite her inability to see this. Her sisters' apparent lack of 'sense to leave' the town, 'either by dying or moving to the city' is derisive given that her female dependence on Bill Hill is what allowed her to relocate. This communicates the idea that, without him, her only real route was
