I. INTRODUCTION

Such an agonizing episode of our history is the Holocaust where more than 1.1 million Jewish victims were murdered. Rubino Romeo Salmoni, an Italian Holocaust survivor was the inspiration behind the movie, "Life is Beautiful". The movie is based on the book "I Beat Hitler"which was written by Salmoni. A tragic yet comedy film that narrates the story of a Jewish-Italian bookstore owner who still finds humor in the midst of the holocaust.

LESSONS OF THE FILM/SOCIAL RELEVANCE As the title says itself, the main lesson of this story is that life is beautiful. No matter what circumstances we are in, we can live a better life because circumstances are irrelevant; they are just external factors which are simply backdrops in our lives. We have the freedom to decide what our attitude will be towards these situations and this defines who we are and what we will become. Our imagination and hope build our world, it lighten our paths and made us a better person. Throughout the role of Guido as a father, he is committed not only to protecting his son’s life, but also his spirit.
VII. RECOMMENDATION AND RATING OF THE FILM

''Life Is Beautiful'' is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). It is rated PG-13 it deals with the Holocaust. I would like to recommend it to anyone except for those 11 years old and below because I think they may not understand it with their baby minds and there are implications of violence in this movie.
