BOOM! CRASH! Well, that is the sound of some crazy people who are trying to get out of their crowded cars as fast as possible and are going too fast and crashing on the interstate. When that happens I bet you think about driving along a long two lane road where people are not trying to get from one point to another as fast as possible. Well, if you do let us go and travel down the road that was America's only main highway that was used for more than 80 years called Route 66. Route 66 was and still is the road to travel on if you wanted to see extraordinary stuff.
Route 66 was the road to travel if you just wanted to cruise down a road and feel the wind in your face or just have a good time while driving to a place that will
Dally you should not even think about killing yourself it will not solve anything and will only make thing worse for everybody who cares about you. I know that you will not believe this and think that the world is horrible and is not worth living in but I promise you that there is still good in the world. I know that you will say that there is not and that I am naive, but I was not the only one to see this even Johnny saw it as he was dieing. He wanted me to try to point this out to you but I knew that you would need more than just me and Johnny's persuasion so I got word from all of the gang and some idea of how to make things better.
“Land of the free and the home of the brave.” This line has represented the United States for decades. These words were captured in The Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key and since 1913, the United States has adopted The Star-Spangled Banner as its national anthem. We have used the Red, White, and Blue as one of our nation’s symbols. It has fifty stars, to represent the number of states we have in our Union. The military pledges its allegiance to the flag and the country which it represents at all costs. We are the land of the free and the home of the brave, and we are proud to show it.
Commonly, vehicular collisions are considered a negative occurrence. Dave Eggers hints towards this mindset in his short story Accident. Plotted in the middle of an intersection in 2005, the story commences with the main character driving his automobile through the intersection and striking an older Camaro. The three teenagers in the Camaro are fine, but the main character notices all the damage he has done to their vehicle and he fears an unpleasant encounter with them. Dave Eggers uses irony throughout the situation to illustrate the main character’s relief. The characters’ involvement with the collision emphasizes Egger’s theme that no matter how unfortunate an incident, positivity can result.
According to The Chicago Tribune “Close to 3,000 people have been shot in Chicago so far this year.”In 2016 chicago homicide rate was at an all time high, last year there have been reported 762 people died from gun violence,”3,550 shooting incidents, and 4,331 shooting victims.”Hundreds of people have died from gun violence every year and also a portion of the murder rate is made up of innocent people that have also died from a firearm violence. Also in the united states the number of fatalities from a firearm were “33,594” according to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention.I believe we should ban the use of firearms because the number of people that die or get injured from a firearm keeps dangerously increasing each year.
Route 66 is the mother road for all highways, it stretches 2,448 miles. It starts in Chicago, illinois, through missouri, kansas, oklahoma, texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before ending in Santa Monica, California. In the 1920’s Route 66 served as a path for those who migrated west, and today its legacy has shaped a more modern way to travel.
The next two lines, “The highway is alive tonight, But nobody's kiddin' nobody about where it goes” (The Ghost of Tom Joad 1995), are talking about Route 66. This highway is the one that all of the Okies traveled on to get to Califo...
The stories in Crash happened in Los Angeles, which is a metropolitan, multicultural and diversified city. According to Simmel’s theory, the modern city, like Los Angeles, is “cold”. People are very indifferent and have a blasé outlook when they are walking on the streets. There are barriers among people. In this kind of society, it is extremely easy to “crash” and bump into other people. Not only crash physically by car accidents, but also crash mentally among people’s minds, like cultural, racial and class conflicts. The movie used several cars crashing to indicate the conflicts among different cultures and the complications of humanity. I can see people are struggling between conflictions and harmony.
occurs due to an inferno, road car crash, airplane crash or a fierce war between two or more
America is a land full of beautiful landscapes and the freeway can make you miss out on that amazing opportunity of seeing it , because you wanted to save a little time. Where if you would have took a back road, like Route 66, you would have got to witness first hand the beauty of America's landscape.
In belief my opinion I believe route 66 is better.Because it is much better to ride on.It is better to me because the Interstate is all loud and noisy while on the other hand Route 66 is much much more quieter and peaceful. When your riding on the interstate its like your baby brother crying all night long while Route 66 is sleeping like a peaceful cloud.Route 66 is the highway of the unknown and the Interstate is the highway to hell. What i mean by that is the Interstate is sometimes narrow while Route 66 is a open road.On the Interstate people are cursing and fussing about how slow or how fast one is going or doing wrong.Wherever you are on any Interstate will get you there faster you will also have to deal with a lot of traffic but on Route 66 you wont have to deal with much traffic.Although there are more places to stop and Drink on the interstate On Route 66 there are many places to look see and maybe visit. In the prompt it talks about and states that sometimes its like a journey or sometimes like a rush to get from point A to point B.It also says that Route 66 is old so that means that there would be some more things to look at.Sure the interstate gets you there faster. When you drive the two lane highways it does not matter how much time it takes. In fact you might even wanna keep driving and driving and driving because you are having so much fun.
The Crash Based on the Ben Sherwood novel, The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, is a story of two brothers who go against their mother’s word and decide to drive somewhere late one night while she is working, but they never make it to their destination. It all happens so fast as the scenes of the collision cut into different camera angles to build the intensity for the audience-flashes of light and the loud horns of the oncoming semi-truck build up the intensity of the accident. In slow motion, the light gets brighter until the screen is white. After witnessing the apparent collision, the scene suddenly goes black and slowly the camera starts to pan over the wet concrete to reveal the aftermath of what had happened. A rollover from Charlie
Route 66 as most people refer to it today as “The Mother Road” stands as a proud symbol of the “ Road to Opportunity” (Scott Quinta). It is because of the construction of this great landmark that America had such a strong backbone during times of depression. It was a critical period for Americans with the Great Depression, World War II, and the Dust Bowl, it was if America couldn 't catch a break. Its population stood tall and did everything they could to survive and Route 66 was their to support them. “Today Route 66 is neither a fully functioning highway nor a road that has completely disappeared it is, however, a destination and a potent symbol of personal freedom” (R. Sean Evans). For a Highway to have such an impact on Americans one would

My Sister, Niece and Nephew have taken it upon themselves to drive across the country this summer (my brother-in-law has signed on to assorted portions of this summer sized junket).niece and baby gator That desire to put a car on the road and aim it along a cardinal point is a peculiar - I'd like to say uniquely American - trait but it isn't just an American taste. It's pan cultural, like recipes for bread or dough fried in oil; An insight of my brother-in-law Al - we live in a world united not by love of justice beauty or freedom, but by variations of the doughnut. If the motor tour is not uniquely American it does unite many different types of American. Trail-blazing drummers thrashing across the Midwest and west outward from the rail lines in model-T's full of brushes and cheap vacuums in search of the previous generations of wanderer/homesteader now in need of household accessories. The airstream contingent twentieth century sun gleaming off their polished aluminum westering hulls. Ernest Bourgnine at the wheel of the converted Greyhound Motor home, his Boswell of the interstate, Jeff Krulik, in close formation. Jack Keroac, I read that book - borrowed it from a friend who warned me it wasn't as good as it is talked about - I read it anyway. There was some talk about driving, some talk about benzedrine, a lot of talk about other stuff. I can't remember more than that. My Father, saturated with the mid century love of the day trip delivered our family to most places that could be gotten to in a five hour drive from Boston - and that didn't cost anything once you got there.
