The Formation of Theme in Romeo and Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is a very well-known tragic story, such tragedy is actually caused by young love, the wonderful young love, and the dangerous young love. Montague and Capulet are two families that hate each other, but Montague’s son Romeo and Capulet’s daughter Juliet fell in love and they were secretly married. After a series of troubles and mistakes, Romeo thought Juliet is dead, so he killed himself in front of her, but she is actually not dead, but when she woke up she found Romeo dead, and she killed herself with Romeo’s knife to be with Romeo in death. The theme young love is dangerous emerges, shapes and culminates in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

When Romeo arrived in the tomb of Capulet, he noticed that Juliet’s body does not look dead, he decided: “Ah, dear Juliet, why art thou yet so fair? Shall I believe that unsubstantial death is amorous, and that the lean abhorred monster keeps thee here in dark to be his paramour? For fear of that, I still will stay with thee, and never from this palace of dim night depart again. Here, here will I remain with worms that are thy chamber maids” (V.iii.110-118). Romeo should have realize that Juliet was not dead by looking at her appearance, a corpse is pale, rigid and lifeless, but even the appearance is so obvious that Juliet might not be dead, Romeo still did not hesitate to kill himself. At the end of the play, the theme of young love is dangerous is completely exposed. The immaturity of young people make them too impulsive, immaturity make them do immature and stupid things without thinking, and they lose their calm when they are dealing with
