The Impetuous Nature of the Play Romeo and Juliet The people in the play have different natures to one another some of them can be good an some of them can be bad to themselves or others around them. The people of the play in Romeo and Juliet are important to the nature of the play and the decisions the other characters make in regards to themselves and others. Romeo, Juliet ,and the Friar are impetuous in nature and have a serious hindrance on the people close to them even though to them they do not see any fault in it themselves . Romeo’s impetuous nature is ruining the lives of the other people and friends that he knows for his own self gain and ill will. He is an unstable mess by the end of the play when he is in the tomb where Juliet lies pretending to be dead because of a potion the friar gave to her. When he kills Paris and then himself the quote “ or am I mad ” ( act 5 scene 3 page 472 line 80 ) proves this by showing his unstable mental state that puts a bad influence into other people’s lives within the play with example of juliet killing herself after romeo dies. When juliet is in her chamber she is going through mood swings and making decision that she has doubts about it but still goes through with it even though there can be a better decision that could be made if she had stop calm down and thought about it for a few minutes . One is thing that Juliet can’t do is make logical decision on a short time frame. This shown in the quote where in tomb juliet make the quick decision to kill herself after she woke up and saw romeo dead She said in context “ happily some poison yet doth hang on them to make me die with a restorative . ” ( Act 5 scene 3 page 475 line 166-167 ) . She is not capable of complex decisions in a short amount of time based on the fact that the watchmen were coming and only had a few moments to decide if she wanted to live or die
