They had spent their time hiding each other from their families, then defying their families just to spend time with each other. This shows that being strict does not always make people behave more, instead it can also cause rebellious behavior among people. A great example of this is when Juliet says “Deny thy father and refuse thy name”. Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love and I’ll no longer be a Capulet.” (2.2.24) The context of this quote is that Juliet wants to swear her love to Romeo, even if she knows it is against her family's expectations. Furthermore, Romeo and Juliet are not the only cases of family problems creating into Romeo and Juliet. Using Mercutio as an example, when he got stabbed by Tybalt and was bleeding out he said “A plague o’ both your houses! They have made worm’s meat of me. I have it, and sound too. Your Houses!” (3.1.160) This quote shows that Mercutio only realizes that the Capulet and Montague family has gone too far only when he was dying.

Albert Camus points out that for some people, it is easier for them to take their own life, than it is to continue living an empty one. This is the case for the star-crossed lovers, Romeo, and Juliet, in William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet. Although there were multiple contributing factors to the suicides of Romeo and Juliet, Friar Laurence is directly responsible for their deaths. He is responsible because he trusted someone other than himself to deliver the letter to Romeo, he gave Juliet the potion, and left when Romeo and Juliet were in danger at the tomb.
Juliet?s parents, Lord and Lady Capulet, play an important role in Juliet?s tragic end. Lord Capulet insisted on Juliet marrying Paris and got angry at her when she refused, telling her to ?go with Paris to Saint Peter?s Church, or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither ? out, you baggage!? (III, iv, 154-156). This forcefulness demonstrated by her father has surely contributed to Juliet making rash decisions without thinking them through as her sense of isolation grew. Lord Capulet also never makes any attempt to end the generations of feuding between the Capulets and the Montagues. A peaceful relationship between the two families would have given Romeo and Juliet no reason to hide their love for each other. Most importantly, the Capulets were traditional parents, strictly adhering to the society around them. Lady Capulet compared Juliet to other girls by saying ?younger than you, here in Verona, ladies of esteem are already made mothers? (I, iii, 69-71) whi...
Parents are supposed to support their child no matter what happens. When making decisions, their children should have their own opinion and do what they think is best. Parents can’t force their child to do things they want them to do. In the book Romeo and Juliet, Lord Capulet is frustrated with Juliet because she wants to marry Romeo. Romeo is part of the Montague family who are rivals of Juliet’s family, the Capulets. Lord Capulet doesn’t want her to marry Romeo, because he wants her to marry Paris instead. Lord Capulet shows his true colors when Juliet disobeys him and refuses to listen to his commands. Juliet’s father did not truly love Juliet in the story because he just cared for his family’s reputation, he did not focus on Juliet, and he failed to support Juliet.
In both films, the depiction of the parental figures is also hugely important, and for both directors, remarkably similar. Zeffirelli appears to project an inherent distrust of parental figures, fitting with the ideology of youth culture in the 1960s and 70s, in which parental figures of authority began to be widely questioned. As Deboral Cartmell proposes “the extremely young Romeo and Juliet […] can do no wrong; the older Capulets and Montagues are severely flawed.”10 Cartmell 's suggestion is one recognised by many critics who have studied Zeffirelli 's Romeo and Juliet, a film in which the young lovers ' parents very clearly hold a large part of the blame for the eventual tragic suicide. The depiction of the extremely young lovers, Hussey
Teenagers that are in love tend to be impulsive and bad at making decisions. In the play Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, two star-crossed lovers from families that don’t get along have to go against their parents, so they can be together. There was action and there was tragedy, but put it all together to make the perfect comedy and a perfect tragic story. William Shakespeare wrote the play Romeo and Juliet, said to be the finest written play in history, for its originality and it's many plots. This story will take you through a lot of mixed emotion and will show you what a true feud is. This story is laid out perfectly because of its true holding and both family's passion for their children. Anna Freud, the founder of child psychoanalysis, once said, “It is only when parental feelings are ineffective or too ambivalent or when the mother's emotions are temporarily engaged elsewhere that children feel lost” (“Anna Freud”). In this case, the children, Romeo and Juliet, get lost and confused, leading to their ultimate deaths. While they cannot live without each other, they also cannot live with each other either, since they end up dying together from all the conflicts piling on top on each other. Since Romeo and Juliet do not really have any parental influence in their lives, they do not know how resolve their conflict of star-crossed love. Due to miscommunication, conflicting viewpoints between parents and adolescents, and a lack of involvement in their children’s lives, Shakespeare shows through Romeo and Juliet that adults are ineffective in saving their children’s lives.

Additionally, Romeo and Juliet attempt to break these social norms, causing them to act out and make immature choices, because they hope to restore their relationship. However, instead of the feud, bringing the two together, unfortunately drives the two lovers relationship farther apart. This leads to the embarrassment of the childish feuds that each family has. In reality, these feuds are used as a mask to hide the stupidity of

Fate had nothing to do with it and it was all the different characters faults. Romeo, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence’s rash decisions where the main cause of the tragedy.
