The consensus of people care about what others think, is something a lot of us have in common. Many people struggle with making their own decisions, not based on fear. In the play Romeo and Juliet created by Shakespeare and the tale of Pyramus and Thisbe, two lovers defy everyone else's opinions to do what they want even though no one agrees with it. These pieces of literature convey that the opinions of others should not affect our own choices, and that we should be free to decide on our own without having to worry about what others think. Some say that other people's opinions can help guide oneself. However, it can take one off course as well and cause one to lose the part of oneself in their choice. Romeo and Juliet were truly happy because of this choice. When listening to others, it can often take away from one’s own thoughts and make you conventional and just like everyone else. This same theme is prominent in the tale of Pyramus and Thisbe. In this tale, their parents forbade them from marrying. However, just like Romeo and Juliet, they didn’t care what they thought. They found a hole and talked to each other in secret every day, their love and yearning for the other growing constantly. Others will try to force their own opinions on themselves and if one gives in, you might miss out on something amazing. That amazing thing is love for Pyramus and Thisbe. Others say that other’s opinions can help guide oneself. They say that with the help of others, you can truly make the best choice. Otherwise, you may be blind to what needs to be done. However, it can take someone off course as well and cause them to lose the part of them in their choice. If one just listens to what others think and want, one will no longer think for oneself. You will start to rely on and develop a need for the assistance of others when doing anything and
