In William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, these two protagonists were too blinded by others decisions and love to act with intelligence which ultimately leads to their deaths. These characters lived in a world where their love had to be kept secret or it would have been broken, which is why the characters looked to wiser peers for help. The deep feelings each lover had for one another was influenced by their family and three people who made destructive choices. Which leads the characters being most responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths are Friar Lawrence, County Paris, and Lord Capulet Friar Lawrence was supposed to be a wise man that made intelligent decisions, but from Romeo and Juliet’s experience, Friar Lawrence had no …show more content…
Lord Capulet wanted his daughter married, but could have had a better plan. Every character knows marriage and love at a young age can lead to death and hardships in the future, but Capulet still wants to marry Juliet. So Capulet should be blamed, because he does not allow Juliet to have a say, makes a horrible decision, and enforces her marriage with Paris too quickly. For example, “Hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch! I tell thee what: get thee to church o’ Thursday Or never after look me in the face. Speak not; reply not; do not answer me” (Act 3 Scene 5, 166-169). This means that Lord Capulet does not want the slightest disagreement of the marriage from his daughter and if she does not obey, does not want to ever look at her again. The reason why Juliet had to die was because Capulet rushed the marriage onto her and would take no back talk thus leading her to make a fast unintelligent …show more content…
Romeo had fought Tybalt and killed him, which made the Prince exile him. This event had caused the letter about the Friar and Juliet’s plan harder to get to him, which would have saved Romeo and Juliet. For example, Romeo killing Tybalt made Friar John have to get out of the city to give the letter to Romeo (Act 5 Scene 2, Line 1- 20). If Romeo would have not been exiled, Friar Lawrence, Romeo and Juliet could have went over the plans together and made everyone live through this

In the process both of them will die. When it comes to Romeo and Juliet who are the top three people that caused the two to die. The two people that are chosen are Friar Lawrence and Lady Capulet. The attempt that Friar Lawrence had made to fix up his wrong doings was a mistake and took a huge role in leading up to the two deaths. He had a second chance to come clean and tell the families the truth, but he chose to ignore that opportunity and came up with a plan that resulted in the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. After Romeo had been banished, the plan that the Friar conjured up was for Juliet to take a potion which would make her appear dead.
(HOOK) How can one grave mistake made by a character eventually accumulate and have an immense impact on the plot of a storyline? He should have ran towards the tomb when he got the letter back since it was possible that someone could provide Romeo the small piece of dangerous information; and knowing Romeo’s impulsive nature he should wait for Romeo to arrive and tell him the truth. Therefore, Friar Lawrence’s useless wisdom has become the cause of the young couple’s death. In conclusion, the four people to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death are Capulet, Nurse, Mercutio and Friar Lawrence. The Capulet’s big heartedness and small heartedness has taken the life of the young couple. The nurse intended to provide Juliet a better life by giving her life of love than advising her to marry Paris for both the life of wealth and love, and Mercutio’s impulsive nature has caused their death.
A friar of wisdom and great power is an abuser of the power he holds; a friar the citizenry turn to thinking he is there to be welcomed, but he is vain. Friar Lawrence has good intentions to help others, yet his actions show that he is truly impulsive and naive. The Friar shows his, “lies, schemes, misleads, falsely sanctions, and performs funeral obsequies for a being he knows is not permanently dead--and, as we can tell, he has no the slightest twinge of conscience about all of this” (Mackenzie 1). He is also blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. He manipulates the characters to believe his actions are to help the star-crossed lovers be happy, however he has ulterior motives and uses his powers against the lovers.
We have now read both Pyramus and Thisbe, and Romeo and Juliet. The question we have yet to answer is what has a greater impact on what happened, destiny, or personal choice? We believe that personal choice affected the characters more because they chose to fall in love, Romeo and Juliet rushed into marriage, Pyramus and Thisbe left home on their own terms, and in both stories, the main characters decided to commit suicide. This is something that cannot be determined by the stars, your choices determine what happens, not some mystical prophecy. Though that is what we believe, it is also believed that destiny has a greater impact because they were doomed from the stars.
Life is filled with difficult situations and tough choices to make. The question is, should we choose to make them ourselves? Some people feel it's best to do things alone, while others do not. For example, most of the characters in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare that are analyzed in the text, “What’s the Rush?: Young Brains Cause Doomed Love” by Lexi Tucker, do not consider other’s opinions at all. However, the opinions of people who love us positively affect our choices so it would be smart to consider them in most cases, but not in those that are very personal.
Romeo & Juliet Romeo and Juliet was a tragedy, but it did not have to be. Many things could have been done to prevent their deaths. Many characters contributed to their deaths. The sole character that was responsible for their deaths is Friar Lawrence. Friar Lawrence is responsible for the deaths of the lovers because he was secretive with their relationship, he was unable communicate effectively, and he had a cowardly persona.
The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet published in 1597 by William Shakespeare is a suspenseful and romantic story about two lovers whose love cannot part them from their feuding families. Although they were responsible for killing themselves, there are certain individuals who influenced them to commit suicide. Those who are most responsible for the unfortunate deaths of Romeo and Juliet include Friar Lawrence, for his selfish desire to be a hero, Capulet, for imposing an ultimatum and his disconnection from his daughter, and the Nurse, for her irresponsibility and betrayal to Juliet.
Friar Lawrence plays an integral part in the action and plot of Romeo and Juliet by secretly marrying them, and giving Juliet the idea to fake her own death. Romeo and Juliet meet in the Friar’s cell for their marriage and the Friar says, “Come, come with me…For, by your leaves you shall not stay alone, Till Holy Church incorporate two in one.”(II.vi.35-37). The Friar marries the two in hopes “to turn [their] households rancor to pure love”(II.iii.99). The Friar is the binding power between Romeo and Juliet, by helping them be together. Without the Friar, Romeo and Juliet would have a difficult time trying to meet in secret with each other, but because of him, they are able to get married. Ultimately, the Friar’s wishes of ending the feud between the Montagues and Capulets are fulfilled, but the reason of their reconciliation being the death of their children. The deaths of Romeo ...

Once in a while many people make bad decisions. Usually these decisions don’t cause them any harm in their futures, unlike Romeo Montague’s and Juliet Capulet’s decisions. In Verona, a city in Italy, two lovers fall in love. The catch is their families despise each other. Eventually Romeo get’s banished from Verona, and Juliet is forced to marry someone she doesn’t want to marry. Juliet takes a potion that knocks her out for 42 hours, and feigns her death, hoping she does not have to marry Count Paris. Romeo assumes Juliet is dead, and drinks a potion that kills him, and when Juliet wakes up and realizes that Romeo is dead, she stabs herself. In William Shakespeare’s tragic play, Romeo and Juliet, the main protagonists, Romeo and Juliet, make poor choices which eventually lead to their death at the end of the story.
Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy- but it did not have to be. Romeo and Juliet is the tragic story of two star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, who are the son and daughter of two feuding families, the Montagues and the Capulets. Written by the famed playwright Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet take place in the 14-15 century in the cities of Verona and Mantua, cities in northern Italy. After a series of events that involves Romeo getting banished from Verona and Juliet getting forced to marry a count, Paris, they kill themselves. It has been argued for centuries about who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. But, once reading the book thoroughly and consulting several sources, it is obvious who is solely to blame- Friar Lawrence. Because of the actions of Friar Lawrence, the play ended with two grieving families instead of two happy newlyweds. Although many characters contributed to their deaths, only Friar Lawrence was solely responsible for them. Friar Lawrence’s cowardice, secrecy, and miscommunication led directly to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
As shown in the book hasty decisions lead to bad things. William Shakespeare has also mentioned this multiple times. There are numerous examples of this in his play Romeo and Juliet. Nevertheless impulsive choices make up most of this well known writing. These decisions are made by various characters and in different ways.
