The key to a successful empire is the advancements there is for its people so the people can be willing to work. Many comforts like running water, roads, etc. There is a line between size and comfort, I find comfort to be a priority, there is no point on having a huge land and no proper cities or places to stay. There is what Rome does well. There is a lot of innovations that are used to this present day, like sewage, Romans were among the first to have a modern day sewage (running water, hot water, etc.) and they could also transport cargo by horses because they even had roads and highways (more on that later) I find the Romans to be more successful in many ways more than the Mongols. They took food for the militants to the war zone, they took food that could take little to no time to prepare like Gnocchi or Pasta. Mongols were all going to war with Genghis Khan on horses, this meant there killed the horses and there couldn’t do anything. The Mongol Empire had many tribes and when Genghis Khan made them be just one together, this meant they could die during war and the population would decrease. Romans made their soldiers train until perfection was met and then send them to war. Even through there was more land for Mongols, there was more advancements for the Romans and that is what made them more successful. Julius Caesar was more successful in many ways more than Genghis Khan. Julius Caesar believed in second chances and would always be nice to people. Because there was so much going on Genghis Khan would make all the mongols fight, I think it is taking a huge risk, what would happen if they failed to win the battle? Everybody would get killed and would grow to a smaller empire. Genghis Khan left cities after winning battles on fire, like when he took over Beijing, The city was completely destroyed and would render useless to the empire.
