Ricky Santiaga Character Analysis

Winter a popular girl who was born and raised in Brooklyn New York projects. The daughter of one of the biggest drug dealers in Brooklyn Ricky Santiaga a businessman but in everyone else's eyes a God. Mr. Santiaga and his wife Mrs.santiaga displayed their daughter's winter, Porsche, Lexus and Mercedes a certain lifestyle. Since the day they were born they were spoiled with jewels, designer clothes and of course Mrs.santiaga didn't work. She influenced others as a remodel, the way she dressed and her fetish with hair. Even winter her own daughter admired her mother.She said " Momma didn't work because beauty was a full-time occupation that left no room for anything else .''(pg.2 ) Mrs.santiaga made it clear to winter that beautiful woman should

be taken care of like her father did for her mother she admired her father and mother's relationship as a couple. Which she seemed to think one day she could live the same lifestyle and relationship with Midnight which was an allusion in her head . what she didn't seem to think was that school was going to be the important source of her life. In order to survive in society, As people, we all need some sort of education from school. If not we are always going to be confused about this world and well life is beautiful.
A girl like winter had to have it all the best shoes, clothes, purses, jewelry nothing else was important if it wasn't beauty or looking the best you didn't matter in her little world , nothing was enough for her if she didn't have it she grew jealous and was desperate to take it from you in order to have it NO wasn't an option, like when her friend Natalie had a chanel outfit she got jealous because she looked good in it and her man was treating her with designer outfits so she tried to take her boyfriend but he was just as broke as winter . He was willing to date winter and dump Natalie and ask for the channel outfit back so winter could wear it but winter didn't agree. Not little did she think that her father operation was never going to fall. Mr. Santiaga was prepared for one day it was going to come crashing down that's why he told winter to focus on college and meeting a doctor or astronaut someone that doesn't have to depend on where or how he going to get paid , he wanted the best for his daughter but she didn't seem to understand what her father was trying to tell her she wanted someone like midnight but he had a story to why he was hustling ,he was trying to get out of that life and get money to better their lives and those in them like her father did for all of them . Winter questioned her father about Midnight if he would be the right guy for her he disagreed even though he was loyal and his right-hand man but he wanted better for his daughter.
Midnight was one of Mr.santiaga workers that helped him look after his business before he moved and after he moved his family to Rhode island. Midnight was serious and a man with little words to say he was handsome and tall in all the girl's eyes but winter had her eye on him. The thing with both of them there completely the opposite. Winter name was a season which was cold which fit her personality shallow and a vain person who was self-centered. Not ever once did she come to think if she did something nice for them for free it was always getting something back in return. Like when simone got locked up, she called winter to bail her out of jail and didn't believe her so left her pregnant inside county jail for about two weeks. Winter didn't want to use her money and simone clearly told her she was going to pay her back. After she got out of jail she went looking for winter at the house of success wanting to fight winter but she was afraid because she had already made Natalie and simone her enemy . She finds herself homeless again but willing to do anything .After they find out that winter not coming back they rob her things then sterling dumps her for a chubby girl .
Rashida who she met at the house if success who goes to her meeting who winter thought she was stupid which she heard of on the radio when midnight toke her home .

Which was sister souji who is a psychologist or someone who comes and preached and gives advice to those in trouble , in need of some good advice she is well known in new york . Winter gets introduced to sister souji who takes her in even though winter gives her a fake name . She asked sister souji if she knew her cousin midnight she said “yes” . Winter had lied and said that her mother was very sick and her mother wanted to see midnight which was her cousin . she asked if she could stay there which sister souji let her for a few weeks till midnight came to get her . Sister souji introduced her to her little sister lauren which who also liked to party and was a bit sneaky . Then the doctor who works down stairs and has her little clinic which winter seems to keeps an eye on because she make 300 dollars each patients . Sister souji gets invited to her friends party who most likely her boyfriend on the low but things don't seems to workout at the moment with his career and lifestyle as a rapper . Which winter sees a big opportunity to snatch and if she sleeps with the rapper she can make him fall in love with her body which is not true at all because the moment she gets a chance to go back to the mansion and gets picked to go up stairs . She gets played out. who she really sleeps with is the bodyguard .

In the morning she wakes up and is escorted out the front door because the mansion was only rented for a video shoot . She gets home to sister souji place and acts normal like nothing happened .Lauren gets home two days later after that party she made up a lame excuse but her winter have to inform there self about that night . About if she really slept with the rapper which they try and get a hold of but they call one of the body guards which he put on speaker phone .while there on the tour bus heading to north carolina for a concert and one of them make a comment about winter how she had gotten played out as fool it wasn't really the rapper it was the bodyguard she gets made and starts cursing and hangs up but she was really embarrassed inside .
After a few weeks staying at sister souji housing she gets used to everyone routine throughout the day and keeps an eye on the doctor money .

Sister souji has her participate in her meeting that she has for the young girls and older adults on how to make life better and fix the neighborhood talks some sense to them but winter seems to think it's just a waste of time and hates it there . She seems to feel sick and runs out the meeting and packs her stuff because she is tired of being there , goes into sister souji room and gets midnight file and see her file and it had newspaper articles of her father and mansion and her . She knew all along of who she really was and played it cool . Then stops by the Doctor room and steals money where she stashed her cash , steals it and puts it in her sports bag but they get switched up and noticed once she was already at the bus station that she had no money . Someone in her past seems to recognize her in a lexus which was bullet the guy she spent her seventh birthday with while her father was arrested

Bullet seems to be controlling after he makes her his girlfriend doesn't let her handle any money and uses her name under everything like the apartment the credit cards . She seems to fall in love with him but hide things from him like her pregnancy which she aborts because she knew it wasn't his baby and he would be mad . She seems to go to clubs with him and handle business with him . He introduces her to a friend who she quite seems to remember meeting and he seems to not ever have heard of her and shakes her hand . Then one of his body guard approaches her with a different name and starts yelling at her and bullet . Then bullets tells his guys to go handle him which they meant to go kill him . Winter reads a new york article and see the guy found dead , the bodyguard who got her pregnant . His family seems to come forward and ask for information about their lost . Winter seems to not give a fly and laughs because she got played out . She knew it was bullet who had killed him and dumped his body . Things were getting hot in New york so he plans out a trip for them to move from brooklyn to miami florida . When they try to leave bullet stops by his apartment she sees her mother who seems to walk towards the car and starts screaming winter i know thats you come out and give your momma a hug . Bullet comes back and tells her to get away from the car and then she says i got letters from your daddy that he wanted to give to you winter here. Then bullet snatchs them and doesnt want to give them to winter then she starts crying and then he gives them to her . Natalie come out of nowhere and slashes winter in the face , bullet shots off his gun toward the sky and the police sirens starts to get closer . Bullet runs away from the car they had rented out and winter is hurt blood is squirting out of her face she his sitting in the passenger side and police seem to find drugs , money , weapons and the car under her name she take 25 years but never snitched on bullet even though she got found of conspiracy . After a few years being in prison all her friends ended up in rikers womens facility she finally gets to read her father's letters and finds out what really happened . After a few year her mother dies they all attend their mother's funeral she see her father and bursts out in tears . Then sees midnight and his wife which he adopted the twins mercedes and lexus . Then they hear car with music coming fast and porsha gets off of it . In a new mercedez and designer clothes . Winter knew what she was up to but couldn't give her no advice so let her figure it for herself . I believe everything that happened in this story was because of winters actions and how she reacted them . Even though her life fall apart she could've made the best of it and go to school but school was never an option . Every person she crossed in the past kept coming back to her presents . This story was interesting but only if she had gotten a job and went to school and married a engineer like her father wanted to do .
