Rise of Revolt TV ( 24HR MUSIC NETWORK)
For those of you who are not aware Revolt TV is a new music cable network from Sean Combs ( P.diddy) which was setup in 2013 Dedicated to the artists of our generation. It is a multi-digital platform that is accessible 24/7 , the website includes the latest videos and latest news in regards to music including documentaries. There are no sections, just one feed of content. The most interesting thing I found out about Revolt TV is that it was created to rival the likes of MTV & VH1 it has been viewed as the next big news channel of music it feels very similar to a 24 hour news show .
So why try and Rival a TV network such as MTV ?
We all know that MTV is the biggest music network out there and to compete

The four elements of a contract are the agreement, the consideration, contractual capacity, and a legal object. The oral agreement between Sam and the chain store satisfies the agreement element of a contract definition because when the chain store offered to sell Sam 's invention at their stores, Sam accepted by agreeing to ship 1000 units in exchange. The second element of a contract, the “consideration of each party,” is satisfied because Sam and the chain store have something to give the other (1000 units of the invention in exchange for the exclusive sales of the product at their stores). The third element is “contractual capacity,” which may or may not be fulfilled since we do not know Sam 's age or whether

Luke has been placed on a project to build an adult entertainment store on a piece of land that is located near his brother’s (Owen) home. It is certain that once the plans for the adult establishment are made public, property values in Owen’s neighborhood will “decrease significantly”. Luke is also aware of the fact that Owen is considering to sell his house. The house can be sold now for an “okay” price, however Owen thinks he may be able to get a better offer once the real estate market recovers.

In assessing the impact and effect of popular cultural forms like MTV, it is important to acknowledge the extent to which, rather than having them imposed upon us, we may instead appropriate or assimilate parts, whilst choosing to reject or ignore the rest. This, of course, has the consumer or viewer acting (or perhaps more accurately interacting) as opposed to simply passively receiving (Philo par 16).Even though critics of MTV stand strongly against the passive consumer, th...
... to get a chance to be broadcasted while still having the “popular music” from American pop culture being played on our radios/Televisions.
MTV single handedly created stars, who may never have gotten the chance without the advent of music video. A prime example of this is Madonna. I dare not infer Madonna is not talented, however it is her image more than her voice that sells albums. Throughout the years we have seen Madonna in all different stages. She constantly re-invents herself. From the material girl to the material mom, Madonna has perfected the use of music video and marketing. Without MTV she may never have attained the success she enjoys.
In the past 30 years, two “Rebellions” have taken place between the Métis and the Government of Canada. I strongly believe that the terminology used to describe the Red River “Rebellion” and North West “Rebellion” is misused and should be modified to correctly represent these events. Due to the nature of these events, the more accurate term to use would be “resistance” as the Métis were strictly defending their rights as human beings. A rebellion is defined as an effort by many people to change the government or leader of a country through the use of violence. A resistance however, is the refusal to accept or comply with something; the attempt to prevent something by action or argument. The Métis were not in pursuit of changing the government; they simply wanted a voice in Confederation. The use of the term “rebellion” delivers the wrong impressions of the Métis. Their use of violence was not an act of destruction but of defense. It is for the following reasons that I believe the term “”rebellion” should be corrected to “resistance”.
The article that appeared in Fortune entitled “Radio’s Stern Challenge” by John Helyar discusses Sirius’ marketing strategy to not only take market share from the entrenched and free terrestrial radio industry but also to beat its only competitor, XM. The Fortune article presents how a fat and lazy radio industry has failed to react to an eroding listening base and an increasing number of competing technologies. Issues like lack of attention to programming, no on-air talent, and an increase of 166% in the time devoted to commercials have driven listeners away from radio. Teens aged 12-17 spend 11% less time listening to radio compared to five years ago and adults 18-24 spend 13% less time compared to five years ago (Helyar, 2004). The article further discusses that terrestrial radio has much to fear from competing technologies like satellite radio, streaming digital radio on the Internet, and Apple’s iPod. What terrestrial radio does have in its favor is that it’s free compared to any of the current competing technologies like satellite radio.

Welcome to backstage! The indie musician podcast where you can hear what your favorite indie musicians and bands have to say to their fans and the world. Backstage is the product of my love for indie music and the desire to share my longing for interview artists before an audience. There's nothing like sharing experiences over common interests, and if there's something that lacks in this world, it's hearing the wisdom of the real people behind the artistic personas whose works we all crave.
The story of subcultures in and through modern music has to start in the 1920’s America. In the wake of prohibition, popular nightclubs were closing down and music fell by the wayside. However, a strong underground scene reared its head during that time as well. Well-dressed men and flapper girls swarmed speakeasies in search of music, liquor and a good time. Mainstream America looked down on these rebels. They were often thought of as no good young people with loose morals and no respect for authority. Little did mainstream America know, however, exactly how important those few rebels were during the roaring Twenties and how their actions helped mold musical societies for the rest of the millennium.
