Welders could improve their careers if they had more knowledge regarding the three basic welding methods. How could they improve their career? The three basic welding methods are TIG(Tungsten Inert Gas.) MIG(Metal Inert Gas.) And SMAW(Shielded Metal Arc Welding.) If the welder had more knowledge about the welding methods, then they could figure out which of the three can produce the most welds in a certain amount of time. TIG welding is the optimum, and most efficient because it can deliver more welds in a day, and reduces the cost of sales.
The welding trade has new TIG welding machines which has improved TIG welding fabrication. So, how has the advantages of TIG welding improved the trade? With these new machines there is an extended balance control. The balance control narrows the weld bead, but also creates greater penetration for thicker sections of the weld. There is a decreasing frequency which produces a broader arc core. The new machines provide a true pulse which means it will allow the welder to change the amount of heat applied, and also can control the decreased amount of heat. The tungsten is pointed, creating a finer weld. The layout for the machines is more simple and easier to use. These new and lighter duty machines feature a better balance check set for more progress than modification. All these new machines mean that the welder can produce better and more efficient and reliable welds in one work day (Austin, Gerald. "Advantages and Disadvantages.").
The differences between MIG, TIG and SMAW are listed in the following. MIG welding uses continuous feeding wire, but it also melts and fuses the parent and base metals together. MIG welding can weld a variety of different metals such as steel, aluminum, and st...

Thomas Jefferson said, “I find that the harder I work, the less I call it work”. I have often found myself in situations where I needed to fix something but could not because it is metal. I believe this might be why I began to show interest in welding. There is great satisfaction in being able to create or fix a metal object on your own. As a Certified Welder, I will be able to combine my hardworking drive with my personal interest in metal working to be a successful welder. This paper will explore the job description, requirements, and salary expectation for a Certified Welder.
Now it is feasible to weld, starting from thin metal sheets of fraction of mm to very thick plates of virtually any thickness. The quality of welding is not restricted only to work done by the welder but depends on many other factors, viz. welding technique and its parameters, welding equipment, shielding medium, working environment, etc. The heat input rate is one of the most important variables in fusion welding, since it governs heating rates, cooling rates and weld pool size. In the welding of steel, this is important relationship since increased cooling rates increase the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking.
What is welding some may ask. “Welding is the use of brazing or soldering to join together or split apart pieces of metal.” Says miller electric inc. The First recorded forms of welding was from the bronze age when metal boxes were made by “pressure welding lap joints together.” In medieval times welding was used by hammer to forge weapons of different types. “It was actually not until the late 1800’s that traditional welding
Friction stir welding is a solid state welding process; this remarkable up-gradation of friction welding was invented in 1991 in The Welding Institute [1]. Figure 1 shows the schematic representation of the Friction Stir Welding process. The process starts with clamping the plates to be welded to a backing plate, so that the plates do not fly away during the welding process. A rotating wear resistant tool is plunged on the interface between the plates to a predetermined depth and moved forward in the interface between the plates to form the weld. The external tool has a probe and shoulder which stirs the material to be joined and forges the surface. FSW comes together with forging and extrusion processes. The probe and shoulder extrudes the material by stirring and the shoulder alone forges the material surface to be joined.
Welding is a excellent career choice for those who like to build things with their hands and have a strong attention to detail. It requires an extensive amount of knowledge and skill but for those who get a solid grasp of the respected trade they're rewarded with tremendous job opportunities and first-rate pay.

Being a welder was never in my mind for a career, but that changed when I started taking welding classes at the Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District. I've been welding for two years and am now enrolled at Bay West Community College for their Early College Program for welding. After I complete the one year program with Bay I will be moving forward with my education. I will be deciding between Ferris State University for Welding Engineering, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College for Machine Tool CNC Technician, or The Advanced Welding Institute. After I complete the rest of my schooling I will also be moving forward to become a Weld Inspector. I do not want to be just a welder I want to be higher up and have a better education, so that
The recruiter told me Tig welding would be the best choice for me but I don’t know if I’m sure on that. I did a little research on pipe line welding but I couldn’t find too much of noting on the website I was on. The recruiter also told me Tig welding will be the hardest and take the longest to learn. I aren’t even tripping about that though because I know that in order for me to succeed something have to be hard alone the way, nothing comes easy for nobody.
Skills of welding students welding program learn the art of heating and shaping metal, required classes may include advanced mathematics. To become a certified welder you are required for two year educational high school or college. Travel opportunities for welders you prefer the open or even the open ocean to a cramped office, life style of the ‘’road warrior’ ’welder could lead to an exciting career once you’ve completed a welding program, these travel bound welders are used to going across the country in order to work on huge projects. The advantage of becoming a welder you have plenty of travel opportunities your afford to work on land/or ocean.
There is a type of welding that utilizes hydrogen, called Atomic Hydrogen Welding. The welding tool is two tungsten steel rods, acting as electrodes, through which passes an arc of electricity. Hydrogen gas is pump through the arc, and the temperature of the arc disassociates the gas into individual molecules, which absorb an incredible amount of heat. When the gas passes through the arc, it reassembles itself, and burns ordinarily, and using oxygen in the air. This is the hottest type of welding process yet; with a flame of over 7232 degrees F. it was invented in 1926, and was used extensively in Germany during WWII.

Welding is an art, science, and high paying career all in one. Welding is the most effective way to join two pieces of metal, it is the only way to join them so they act as one. Numerous things in our daily lives has been welded from coffeepots to skyscrapers. Welding can be done almost anywhere outdoors, indoors, underwater, and even space (“Welding Basics”). It is practically

Welding is a very important tool used in our daily lives. Welding is the process of joining two metal pieces together by applying heat. A filler helps to make the joint. Everything we use from trucks to houses have some type of welding in them. There are many types of welding careers to choose from. There is a great demand for welders today. My project was to build a table and candelabra out of metal. Most of the metal I gathered came from junk yards and had to be cleaned of rust.
