A place that has many wonders of the world that include, the Great Pyramids, a huge Sphinx, and a valley of kings tombs. What is this place: Egypt. Egypt links northeast Africa with the Middle East. This place dates back to the time of the pharaohs. Egypt is very appealing to me because of its many attractions, all the amazing Gods that Egyptians worshipped, and of course the Nile River.
One thing I would love to visit Egypt to see is the Great Pyramid of Giza. Even though it would probably be really hot there it would be super fun to see this pyramid. This amazing structure is 455 feet in height, super tall. The website “nationalgeographic.com” says that, “The Great Pyramid of Giza is also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops.” Also, the website states that this pyramid is the largest and oldest of the three that are there. still standing so tall and still so put together. Many things as old as this pyramid would have fallen apart or got broken already. The article on the website “ancient-code.com” had many facts about the pyramid, one of these that stuck out to me is, “The centers of the four sides are indented with an extraordinary degree of precision forming the only 8 sided pyramid, this effect is not visible from the ground or from a distance but only from the air, and then only under the proper lighting conditions. This phenomenon is only detectable from the air at dawn and sunset on the spring and autumn equinoxes, when the sun casts shadows on the pyramid.” Being able to go to Egypt and see this amazing thing would be such a cool opportunity. The second big thing that makes Egypt so appealing to me is all the Gods that Egyptians worshipped.
There were so many gods they worshipped, some of these include, Anubis, Bastet, Geb, Hathor, Sekmet, and of course the sun God Ra. The website “primaryhomeworkhelp.co.uk” had a lot of information about the gods. “Amun was the King of Gods. When Amun was combined with the sun God Ra he was even more powerful. He was then called Amun-Ra. Amun has the head of a Ram” All of the egyptian Gods have animals as heads. On “ancientegypt.co.uk” it explains why this is, “Some gods and goddesses were identified with particular animals. There was often a connection between the god or goddess and the actions of the animal. For example, the goddess of war, named Sekhmet was sometimes shown with the head of a lioness to show that she was ferocious.” It is pretty cool that that is how they want to represent their gods because it is a different way they most people would. There is so many things about Egyptian Gods that fascinate me and that is why they are another reason that Egypt is so appealing to
me. The last reason Egypt is so cool to me is because of the Nile River. The river is really fascinating to me. The Nile is so interesting to me because of many reasons but one of the big reasons is because it is the longest river in the world. “The Nile River has a length of about 4,132 miles (6,650 kilometres) and drains an area estimated at 1,293,000 square miles (3,349,000 square kilometres).” from the website “britannica.com.” Another reason is that it is not just one river. There is many rivers connecting to make it one super long river. Also from the same website, “The Nile is formed by three principal streams: the Blue Nile (Arabic: Al-Baḥr Al-Azraq; Amharic: Abay) and the Atbara (Arabic: Nahr ʿAṭbarah), which flow from the highlands of Ethiopia, and the White Nile (Arabic: Al-Baḥr Al-Abyad), the headstreams of which flow into Lakes Victoria and Albert.” Even though there is many more, this is the last reason on here that makes Egypt so appealing to me. In conclusion there is many amazing things in Egypt that make it so appealing to me. Some of these cool things include how many Gods they worshipped, all the history that is in Egypt, and last but not least the Nile river and how fascinating it is. All these things, plus many more, are why Egypt is so captivating to me.
The Pyramids Of Giza were chosen as they are three extraordinary structures that give a rich insight into the context, culture, function, technology, power and experiential aspects of the time period and the buildings themselves. Many conspiracies surround the Great Pyramid at Giza. Of these theories, nearly all of them stem from curiosities involving the construction process, as well as the planning and design process, of the Great Pyramid. While admitting that it is quite curious that the pyramid is oriented almost perfectly to the cardinal directions; along with the fact that both the golden section and the number π seem prevalent in the design; it is also curious how some people instantaneously connect those possibilities with the idea that only aliens could have built such a structure.
