I used a survey as this way I could ask about the specific topics I needed feedback on. I wanted to know which features of the Xbox people liked and which features of the PlayStation they liked, and if there was anything that Xbox could improve on, as then I could determine how Xbox can increase their customer base and better compete with PlayStation.
Also carrying out a survey myself meant that the information I was collecting was up to date and reliable, as I gave it out myself a week prior to writing my report and only asked those who were aware of the features of gaming and could give insightful feedback and their preferences. However, a disadvantage of using this survey was that it took a lot of time to carry out and convert the data into graphs and statistics. Another disadvantage was that some people could be biased towards their preferred consoles and may not rate the other fairly and give valid
Microsoft has been only been in this industry for fourteen years. They’ve only created three consoles so far, Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Their huge success with the Xbox 360 put them at the forefront of the battle. Their newest console, the Xbox One, was announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 in March of 2013 and released later that year in November. They told the world how revolutionary their console was with all of its innovate features. The console, weighing in at 6.3 pounds, is a monster of a device with 5 vents on each side of the console, it runs almost silent and experiences almost no overheating problems. Looking like a retro, 1960’s VCR, many people believe it is an ugly piece of hardware. Personally, I like the design of the console. It is big and heavy which makes it feel like a sturdy piece of technology. Inside the beast is an 8 core 64x AMD processor which runs at1.75GHz and features a Direct X 11.1 graphics card running at 1.2 Teraflops. It also comes with 8 GBs of GDDR3 RAM and a 500 GB H...
Atari was the first commercial video game company with hits like ‘break out” and “pong”. For many people pong was the first video game they have ever played. The idea of pong is that there is two rectangles that only move up and down and a little square that bounces around the screen until one of the rectangles miss, once the rectangle miss’ the game is over. This game may seem simple now but it sold 19,000 units so you can say what you want but back then this was the greatest game ever.
The following paper analyzes the initial release of Microsoft's XBOX 360 gaming system release into the United States and the changes that occurred with the supply, demand and pricing of the product in the months following its release. The social science of economics tells us that supply, demand and price are closely related to one another and have a significant on how much of a particular good is purchased and the rate at which it is purchased by consumers. The XBOX 360 phenomenon is a solid example of the impact that changes in supply, demand and price have on the marketplace and the rate at which goods are purchased.

The Xbox One’s features trump those of the Playstation 4. Although many of their features are very similar, Microsoft has taken their gaming system to an entire different league. The Microsoft Xbox has powerful components within that overpower any other console, including its CPU or it’s Central Processing Unit. The Xbox runs an Intel Pentium III 733-megahertz (MHz) processor. This is a lot more powerful than Nintendo Gamecube’s IBM Power PC 485-megahertz Gekko chip processor and even lower the Sony Playstation 2’s 128 bit “Emotion Engine” which is clocked around 294-megahertz. A few more components that make this console far superior to any other is its graphics processor, or GPU, which stands for Graphic Processing Unit. Microsoft had teamed up with Nvidia to create a chip that was made especially for the Xbox. The computer-based company ‘s 250-megahertz chip gives the console an amazing resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and 125 Million Polygons per Second. Sixty four- (64) megabytes (Mb) of DDRam back all this up, for great non-glitch games and smooth running. Nintendo also has a computer-based company teaming up with them to create the 162-megahertz ATI Flipper GPU Chip. This chip can only handle around 6-12 Million polygons a second and is only backed up by 43-megabytes of DDRam.
The Magnavox Odyssey (created by Ralph Baer) has been debated to be the first video game and console. Atari, which came out 2 years after the Odyssey, Senger Emily states “ In the 1977 with the launch of Atari 2600 video game console. Atari dominated the home-market through the 70’s and 80’s.” Atari is the first big game company to emerge in U.S soil and dominated the game market. The Magnavox Odyssey sold with Magnavox tv’s and brought forth the idea that the game system only worked on their tv’s. With the arrival of Atari’s 2600 video game console they released Pong ,similar to Odyssey’s paddle and ball game, a new game that sold better than their rival, Odyssey. “Atari's position as the top video-game console brand dipped in the early '80s, when competitors flooded the market and quality across the industry waned leading to the video game crash of 1983”which Senger Emily claim to be Atari’s downfall. Due to their problems after the video game crash, “1992, Atari's share of the North American video-game market had shrunk to just 12%.”(Senger) Atari switched CEO to tramiel in 1989 , which never kept the company afloat. People have been comparing Xbox and PlayStation for a long time now, some people says that Xbox is the best system but other say PlayStation is the best console. PC is a competitor to but this is mainly about Xbox and PlayStation war. What side would you choose Sony or Microsoft? If you choose one and your friends choose a different side no one is wrong or right. Personally I am going to chose Xbox because I had Xbox for a long time and I enjoy it more. I think people who isn’t into gaming won’t really care but this is a gaming topic. Both consoles have good games but I like Xbox because i’m used to the controllers, etc and I haven’t played PlayStation in like 4 years. This is an important topic for certain people, most people love comparing the two consoles but they are very similar in some ways. Some examples are that they both have the same type of players, the consoles are the same in some ways, and they both have game exclusives.

The Sony PlayStation has stable ground in the video game industry, but needs to evolve more. Through research and interviews, we have discovered that the general public is uninformed of the network’s capabilities. Sony needs to focus on customer needs and wants to reach their customers better. Currently, the PlayStation 3’s strongest aspect Word choice.
