It was one cold rainy afternoon. I had just arrived home from school and I immediately rushed to change into a different outfit then got back to my usual routine; watching TV. At that time, my favorite cartoon "SpongeBob" was on and I was full of excitement. In the middle of the show, the screen went blank and a "NO SIGNAL" notification popped up. This really pissed me off and with little thought, I concluded that the problem was definitely the new antenna my father had just bought. I quickly rose from my seat and brought down the antenna from the top of the TV. At the time, indoor analogue antennas were quite common in the country. I decided to open and take a look inside the antenna so I could figure out what the problem was.Even though I had no idea what I was going to do, I was confident that I was going to fix the antenna myself. …show more content…
In no time, the antenna was open. Unfortunately, some connecting wires had accidentally been unrooted from the main circuit board. As the saying goes, "When it rains, it pours", the situation had just turned for the worse when I realized that I could not figure out where the connecting wires had originated from on the circuit board. "I am toast!", I said to myself, realizing that the antenna was now really broken. SpongeBob was the last thing on my mind as I was filled with fear; fear of what my father would do if he learnt of what I had done.My father normally came home from work around 5pm and my fear grew bigger by the minute. I had not yet figured out what I was going to tell him this time. I never really took responsibility for my mistakes. Then came the horn at the gate. I was very sure it was my father's car. I started getting nauseous as I watched him park the car. Carrying his bag from the car was my usual routine but this day was an exception.

My first business experience at the age of 12 ignited my fascination for business. I created a website selling cartoon merchandise as an affiliate marketer. My ‘Spongebob’ website ranked No 1 in Google for major keywords and made over five hundred pounds. I grew up in single parent home and although I felt I missed out not having a father figure the struggles in life have only strengthened my personality and made me the person I am today. I have became strong willed, self-motivated, hardworking and caring.
...d my sister screaming my name. I got out of the golf-cart and thanked the man and went to our little black rental car, where my dad was getting my little brother into his car seat. When we got to the car, I explained to everyone what had happened, still out of breath, and my dad said, “Wait, you were lost?” He did not even notice I was gone.
David Vetter born 21 September 1971 or better known by media as “David the bubble boy” was diagnosed with SICD which resulted in him being very susceptible to diseases viruses and other harmful bacteria in which his body would be unable to protect against these pathogens. The reason why he was named “bubble boy” is because as soon as David was born he was placed into a sterile, bacteria free chamber to prevent him from dying. Although he lived all his love inside of such an environment this was only supposed to be a temporary solution before he could get a bone marrow transplant. Ultimately he died at the age of 12, 4 months after the transplant, when it was found the transplant contained an infection. He died the 22 February 1984. The world
George’s ladder was gone from it’s usual spot it was later found in an embankment. The engine in his truck wouldn’t start, later someone would say they had seen someone messing with the engine during the night. The buckets full of water were frozen solid. The phones in neighboring homes wouldn’t connect to the operators to get a hold of the operators.
Shows such as Spongebob Squarepants don’t generate attention disorders like ADHD, but they do contribute to shorter attention spans. This is especially unhealthy for younger people. Watching cartoons makes it harder to employ executive function in the brain, the process used to complete tasks. Viewing TV programming with a still developing brain is hurtful for the younger generations. Fast-paced programs over-stimulate young kids’ brains.
The wonderful show SpongeBob Square pants is a good show about a sponge who lives at the bottom of the ocean in the bikini bottom. SpongeBob lives with his pet snail Gary in a pineapple. As my brother, sister, dad, and I pull up to the house, I look at it with uncertainty, not knowing what to expect. It was a small blue house and had flowers planted around it. We walked up to the house with me in the lead. That didn't last long though. I was too nervous, so I stood still and turned around, waiting for my dad to get ahead of me.
I turned around and followed my family to our car. What a day I had had.
Slime is a special play material made up of tangled polymer. It is mostly made by mixing polyvinyl with the chemical compound known as borate ions, you can describe it as a liquid and mix it in a sizable container for mixing. In a more difficult explanation, slime is more commonly known amongst scientists as a Non-Newtonian fluid. These are thick liquids that have a numerous selection of viscosity.
My dad is one of those people that Murphy’s Law applies to. That is, if anything is going to go wrong then it is going to go wrong for my dad. My family started on this trip with great expectations. It was going to be our first trip to Disney World and we were all very excited.
Having to wait thirteen years for anything can make anyone impatient. Teens and young adults around the world can agree since it took thirteen years to create the long-awaited Finding Dory (the sequel to Finding Nemo). I showed up at the hospital about thirty minutes later. I was so scared and did not know what to expect. I did not know if my father was dead, ...
Finally it passed through the other side followed by an eerie screeching sound. The dreadful sound was emanating from the dry rotted tires that were rubbing against the rails. After the car emerged from the exit of the car wash, it was then wiped dry by the co-workers of the car wash. Watching the employee’s wipe the car I could hear the boy my age say, “I feel bad for who ever owns that car”. The car was fully washed and ready to go as one of the staff members approached the benched and asked which one of us the owner of the vehicle. Again the muttered another comment, “sure isn’t mine”. The comment from the boy made me hesitant, but for a moment I realized the only person I was fooling was myself. So I picked myself up and as I was about to leave, the man in his mid forties stated to me “it could have been worse, my first car barely ran”. With that comment I was a little more encouraged to get into the car and leave with some dignity.
My mom and I arrived at my great aunt’s house in Ely, Nevada at around dinnertime. We both decided it was time to get some sleep due to our long drive. My mom had asked me to wake her up if my dad did not call or arrive by midnight. She was obviously very tired from driving and I had slept most of the way anyways. I could tell my mom was very worried about my dad because he was traveling on his Harley Davidson, and the roads were dangerous. My innocent ten-year-old mind did not think anything bad could happen,
