Queen Lilioukalani was the last Queen of Hawaii and had to go through a lot in her life. Even at the beginning of her life, she had to endure many things (author pg.#). During the middle of her life, while she was fighting against annexation from the U.S., she had many hardships that happened to both her and her people (author pg.#). Near the end of her life, she still advocated for Hawaiian rights and culture (author pg.#)(Unknown pg.2). Queen Liliuokalani worked to peacefully protect her homeland from U.S. annexes, and although she was unable to stop the annexation of Hawaii, she advocated for justice for her and her people. Queen Lydia Lilioukalani was born on September 2, 1838. Her birth mother was one of King Kamehameha III's advisers. She was adopted by the High Chief and Chiefess Pki and Konia in a Hawaii tradition called Hnai. She was raised with wealthy, high-class parents, which meant she got a good education. What many people have never known, is the warrior that hid behind her beautiful physique. She was a fighter; for her country, people, and the truth. Within her short 23 years, Princess Kaiulani became Hawaii's last hope to save the monarchy that had existed for so long. Sadly, she did not accomplish this feat, and her heroism and efforts have either been overlooked or forgotten. To be knowledgeable of her childhood, teenage life, and final years is the least that can be done out of respect for this great Hawaiian Princess.

Queen Ka’ahumanu was born on March 17, 1768 in a cave called Pu’u Kauki in Hāna on the island of Maui. Her father was Ke’eaumoku Papa’iahiahi, a fugitive noble from the island of Hawai’i. Her mother was Nāmāhānaikaleleokalani. On her mother’s side, she was related to many kings of Maui. On her father’s side, she was King Kamehameha I’s third cousin. Ka’ahumanu was named after her father’s rival, Kahekilinui’ahumanu because he was the cause of her father fleeing at the time. Her father was an advisor and close friend to King Kamehameha I, and ended up being the royal governor of Maui. When Ka'ahumanu was thirteen years old, her father arranged for her to marry Kamehameha I. He had a total of twenty-two wives, but assured Ka’ahumanu that she was his favorite.
Lydia Kamakaeha better know as Queen Liliuokalani was born on September 2, 1838, in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was born into Royalty. She was the last monarch and only queen of the kingdom of Hawaii. Liliuokalani parents were Caesar Kapa‘akea and Analea Keohokālole. Her father was the Hawaiian chief of the patriarch of the House of Kalākaua, he ruled the Kingdom of Hawaii from 1874 to 1893. Her mother was a Hawaiian chiefess and matriarch of the House of Kalākaua she ruled the Kingdom of Hawaii from 1874 to 1893. Liliuokalani had three siblings named David Kalākaua, Miriam Likelike and William Pitt Leleiōhoku. Her brother David was the last reigning king of Hawaii’s Kingdom. Her Sister Likelike was a Princess of Hawaii’s kingdom. Her brother William was a prince of the Kingdom of Hawaii and a member of the reigning House of Kalākaua.

Queen Emma's great humanitarianism for the Hawaiian people pushed her to take action in order to help them.
