During the last half of the 1800’s and the early part of the 1900’s urban population in western Europe made enormous increases. During this period France’s overall population living in cities increased twenty percent, and in Germany the increase was almost thirty percent. This great flow of people into cities created many problems in resource demands and patterns of urban life. These demands created a revolution in sanitation and medicine. Part of this revolution was the redesigning of cities. G.E. Baron Von Haussmann was the genius behind the new plans for the city of Paris.
Unfortunately, Marion consideration of allowing him his daughter is postponed. In end of the book it says “But he wanted his child, and nothing was much good now, beside that fact. He wasn’t young anymore, with a lot of nice thoughts and dreams to have by himself” (Fitzgerald 400). Charlie wanted to make changes in his life, but the people around him do not accept that he is a better man and his alcoholic past will continue to hold him back from living the future he wants with his daughter.
It's famous for it's beignets, a square-shaped donut minus the hole, dusted w/ powdered sugar, great w/ coffee. The culture of New Orleans is at its best during Mardi Gras. However, so are hotels, so if you're planning on making the trip and staying in downtown New Orleans, make reservations a few months in advance. Despite the French Quarters old historic appeal, there are many excellent hotels to stay at.

For this book report, I was assigned to read the book titled “How Paris Became Paris, The Invention of the Modern City”. Published in 2014 by former professor and well-known writer Joan DeJean. DeJean has written eleven books in her life consisting of several different topics. She’s written about French literature, history, and culture from the eighteenth century. She is a dynamic writer and perhaps has written her most iconic and dynamic piece in her latest entry “How Paris Became Paris”. In her book, she goes in-depth and details regarding the rise of Paris’ built environment and its effect on the nation of France and the entire global community as a whole. In this book report, I will describe and highlight the tipping point on the evolution
Casablanca is a great American film whose movie stories continuous to inspire us. It is the ultimate classic movie, which is created prior to its time. This film is wartime movie, which is shot during World War Two. Casablanca is French occupied land in Morocco, North Africa, which is also called the city of hope to many European refugees in order to escape to the free land of America. However, during that time, there was a strong political tension between the Nazi and the Anti-Nazi allies, which was the source for prejudice, crime, and bribe that hold the refugees back from escaping to the secure land of the United States. The political conflict, the scene of refugees, the story of everlasting love, the smoky environment, and the small
Downtown has its own kind of stores. Now these stores you won’t find at a mall and only downtown has them. I love exploring each and every one of the stores. On one store they may be selling colorful figurines and a collection of vivid detail blankets and the store next to it may be selling clothes or electronics from blenders to HD televisions. One of the many reasons I like to go into the stores is to glance at the way they’re decorated. It’s just amazing
The fall of France was inevitable because of the divided politics and low national morale. France, in political chaos before germany even attacked, was in a winless situation because it was weakened by their internal conflict, antiwar ideas, and limited support of the allies. A political revolving door in France’s government created problems with their war debt, poor national security, and weak alliances, which weakened France’s confidence. Also, France gave up it’s diplomatic freedom to the allies, which stirred up internal confusion. Furthermore, the French military made mistakes in investing into defense rather than offense because of biased teachings in the French military schools, leading to using less
Paris is one of the oldest and prominent cities of the world. Its istory goes back to 3rd century B.C. Paris was made the capital of France in 508. Since then it became quite an important city in the eyes of the world. The city went through early developments as in the 14th century, Philippe Auguste, a great urban planner, established the walls that surround Paris and he also created the fortress of the Louvre.

Consumer culture plays a key role in the economy. Today, the ways in which urban spaces are arranged facilitate the consumption of goods. One only needs to look to modern cities such as New York, London or Tokyo in order to recognise the countless forms of advertisement intended to lure the mass population into spending money on various merchandises, from novelty items to luxury products. The use of built structures to facilitate the display of retail products for the consumption of the masses is nothing new. After its renovation, Paris became a model innovative city planning and construction for a lot of modern cities that exist today. The wide boulevards and open spaces engaged the mass population and encouraged consumerism.
Some of these great and beautiful landmarks and sites / fields and places to go are , Zoo de guyane, Musée Alexandre-Franconie, Oyapock River Bridge
Paris is known for having good baguettes and duck. Paris is also known for having many bakeries with croissants. I would prefer trying all of the foods in Paris that aren’t in America. Another thing I would like to experience is their culture. I want to be in Paris on July 14, Bastille Day, because it’s on the same date as my dad’s birthday and four days after my own.
