From August 27th to September 5th a group of university students mainly ranging between the ages of 22 to 25 will be experiencing the park first-hand. As far as the weather, this is an ideal time to experience Algonquin Park because "there are only a few lingering misquotes, the days are warm and the nights are cool" (Friends…, 1998). Within the group of approximately 60 people, the diversity of the individual's outdoor recreation experience is varied. Some have camped, canoed and portaged a great deal while some will be experiencing "the great outdoors" for the first time. Although there will be both rookies and veterans the physical fitness level of all is fairly descent. Therefore, it was only up to the individual to do some informal physical training before the trip if they feel training was needed. However, formal training took place at Northern Edge Algonquin before the group headed into Algonquins interior. Activities such as paddling, orienteering, and first aid were addressed for the first two days of the trip.
There is no better feeling in this world than to be outdoors with nature, especially when there are numerous activities to dabble in. Often times people take for granted the sentimental value that they can experience by simply walking through a park. God created the Earth to be beautiful and peaceful, and people need to keep it that way. I have always shared a love of the outdoors with my dad and my brother. We have gone on numerous camping, hiking, fishing, and star-gazing trips ever since I can remember. It was no surprise to me when my dad decided to buy a lake house on Hyco Lake, right outside of Roxboro. We got a really good deal on the house, so my dad decided that Hyco Lake was the perfect spot.

In Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, there are over 1 million acres of non-federal inholdings to which access is, and has been a major issue of controversy. The following information will be used to convince park managers and conservationist groups that access via R.S. 2477 rights-of-ways are not only necessary, but also guaranteed by state and federal law.
When one thinks of natural resources, probably the first things that come to mind are fossil fuels. If you bring the state of Texas into the equation, you think of the big oil wells. Texas tea, black gold, swamp juice, whatever you want to call it, oil is a big part of people's perception of Texan natural resources. But there are a lot more natural resources in Texas than you might think. The natural soils make for good farming and ranching conditions, we've got great rock deposits for a variety of industrial uses, and we have a number of different mineral deposits scattered through the state. It's time we took a look at some of the many natural resources Texas has to offer.
Last but not the least significant stop is Fishing Bridge. Original bridge was built as a slightly different alignment than the current rough corduroy bridge plank bridge in 1902. Existing bridge was built in 1937. Fishing Bridge is historically very popular place for fishing. Fishing from the bridge was quite good, due to the fact that this is a major cutthroat trout spawning area. Because of the population decline of cruelty (part, the result of this practice) is, however, the bridge was closed to fishing in 1973. Since then, it has become a popular place to observe fish.
The George D. Aiken Wilderness is a favorite among fishermen. Located in the Manchester district, the park boasts 5,060 protected acres. Be sure to bring rubber boots as the wilderness is almost entirely wetlands.
Importantly, paddling offers a great reason to enjoy the lakes or rivers and to appreciate its value. Before heading out, certain things should be considered and must be prepared for both professionals and beginners.
