Big Bang Boomerang Imagine you’re standing in line for your first rollercoaster ride. All of a sudden you feel excited but at the same time you feel like the whole world stopped except for the extreme rollercoaster going on with so many screams! There are thousands of people around and you feel so excited it feels like you are going to pee your pants. While I and my dad were waiting to get on we just watched the intense rollercoaster go by and hear all the screams just imagining that we were also on with them. That’s how I felt like. One 90 degree day I went to Six Flags in San Antonio, Texas. The first ride that I and my dad went on was the boomerang! That was my very first time riding a rollercoaster. We got in the line which look like

It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
for example, we are in a class or a rally and there is a sudden
What most people expect to hear is me looking forward to riding the roller coasters. I hope that’s not what you thought because I hate them, maybe not hate, but really I’m just not a big fan of high altitudes in general. Consequently, this is why I was always reluctant to going with my family on this trip. Nevertheless I always went. Now that you know I’m not a fan of heights you could guess what attractions I was accustomed to riding, let’s just say my height requirement was more than enough to be eligible to ride. This specific year I decided to bring a friend to accompany me and in hindsight that was a bad idea because he was a roller coaster
A trebuchet is a siege device that was used in the wars and sieges of the Middle Ages. It is used to either smash masonry walls or to throw projectiles over them. It is sometimes called the “counterweight trebuchet” in order to differentiate it from an earlier weapon that has come be to be called the “traction” trebuchet, the original type with pulling men instead of a counterweight.
It’s when my brother tries to steal my Monopoly money when I’m not looking, or when my mom’s Pictionary drawing of a car somehow ends up looking like swiss cheese, or when my dad refuses to stop playing Rummikub until he wins, that I look around the table and realize that I am incredibly thankful for these cherished moments with the people I
I was so excited. I could hardly breathe through the hour drive it took to get there. I was squished between my two ten-year-old best friends in the back seat of a white Saturn, but I didn't care. I was practicing over and over in my head what I was going to say to all the smart-alecky adults who would tell me I was too young to ride the water slides. I was simply going to reply, "Actually I'm ten, going on eleven."
outside the range of usual human experiences. In the book The Perks of Being a Wallflower by
Humans have always tried to produce inventive and original designs for weapons all over past, which attack an enemy from a good amount of distance. One of the most successful of these weapons being catapult. A number of steps were taken before the catapult was designed, the sling was shaped to overcome the limitations of the weak human arm, hunters and soldiers developed the bow and arrow to advance in aim and velocity. In the long run, with the design of the catapult key improvements in power and precision were achieved. The catapult was first designed by the Greeks around 400 BC. After much upgradation, their catapults were able to throw 60lb rocks five football fields away. The catapult was the first practice of field artillery, which was
A Catapult is a device that is used to launch an object. These devices are very ancient and have been used in many areas, mostly in Europe during the middle ages. Catapults were highly used weapons. The first Catapult was meant to replace a crossbow, by increasing the range and power. Diodorus Siculus was a Greek historian, he was the first to actually document a catapult in action. Catapults were used to launch missiles at walls and also over walls to create extreme damage to the population. They would also launch diseased bodies over walls to infect the population as well.
A catapult can be best described as a structure that uses various concepts of physics in order to launch an object across a given area in a projectile motion. Catapults eliminate the use of any explosives that accelerate the object into motion, like bullets from a gun, or cannons. The concept of catapults have been in existence since medieval times, and were extremely important during wartime. The catapult, first came into existence in Greece, which the Romans quickly learnt of. The two most common types of catapults used during ancient wartime were the doubled armed machine, more commonly known as the ballista for shooting arrows, and the single-armed catapult for the larger objects. In an article named “Stone-Hurling Catapult,
Catapults are objects that have been used in many cases of war or even work. Catapults are used all over the world. People might recognize them more when they see a movie like 300. catapults are large objects that people like I said before would use for war or for there type of work. Most jobs today do use catapults but they look different. The modern day ones look more advanced.
Your hands are shaking so much it takes a while for you to get your seat belt off, so you need a little assistance from a worker. When you stand up, it instantly feels like you are about to vomit all of the cotton candy, and candy apples you had eaten early that day. It feels as though the bile has built up in your gut and it is ready to spew through your mouth. When you step out of your seat, your legs are wobbly and feel like Jello making it challenging for you to walk correctly, and everyone notices you having a hard time standing. Your hands are quivering, but you know you just had the ride of your life, so you feel some sense of pleasure. Even though you feel like your life has flashed before your eyes, you are cheerful you rode the ride, but don’t know if you would consider riding it
However, there are few moments in our lives where we cannot even describe our emotions. I remember exchanging playlist with Daniel Li and thinking to myself, “Wow these songs are not in english and are played on the piano, is Daniel trying to be special by choosing songs that were originally written in a different language?” I did as I was told and chose a quiet setting and plugged in my earphones. The first song started with a lullaby creating a relaxing sensation within me. But as the first song progressed, the pianist began to play more intensely and something inside of me changed. The relaxing sensation suddenly changed into a sense of euphoria. I knew that I was in a state of excitement but there was something else also there that I cannot describe in words. What emotion was I feeling? This feeling created by the pianist was something that I have never experienced before. I could not stop and figure out what this newfound emotion was until the song finally ended. It was as if my emotions were controlling me making me feeling this powerful emotion. The more intimate one is with an experience, then more likely that person is to experience a powerful
When life is perfect there is this feeling of overwhelming smiles. Like I want to scream or yell just because my life is so incredibly perfect. I felt this way the summer of 2002 at Lutherdale Bible Camp. But what is weird is that I don't know what makes it so perfect. Like what is the real difference from here to there? There I have this feeling of being so incredibly close to everything. As opposed to being to being in the real world, hearing and seeing what really goes on. When I was at camp I feel like I am really special. Like people wanted me to be there, and want to get to know me and just want to be around me. Of course I have plenty of friends and family at my house, but the people there are somewhat different. They make it seem like I am important.
