Airplane ride alone The most memorable childhood event I've had was when I was six years old I rode a plane all by myself from New Orleans, LA to Indiana. My mom and I were moving from New Orleans to Indiana to help take care of one of my aunts which is my mom's sister because she caught seizures very bad. My aunt had moved to Indiana from New Orleans like a year prior to our visit and she didn't know anyone nor did she have any family members out there. My mom took a leave from work and she went out there a couple of weeks before I did because I still had to go to school.
The plane flight was booked for the last day of school, my grandma packed my clothes the night before and when she picked me up from school we headed straight to the airport. I didn't know that I was flying all alone until the flight was scheduled to leave. I immediately had bubble guts, I cried because I was rather scared to be on the plane a million feet in the air let alone be on it by myself. This was around the time the terrorist attack on nine eleven happened, so I had so many negative thought's running through my six-year-old brain. Although I

An older lady sat next to me and noticed how jittery I was so she decided to switch seats with me. I had games to play and all kinds of snacks to eat yet I still focused on the plane ride instead of the bigger picture, which was I was going to be able to see my mom and I hadn't saw her in maybe two weeks. The lady that sat next to me was very pleasant, she played all of my games and even some of her games with me. She did everything that she could to ease my worries. She gave me gum because my ears were popping as the plane flew higher and higher into the sky. The woman even sung songs soothing songs to me, I eventually fell
When I was about 10 years old, my mom took me to a roller coaster theme park in Massachusetts. I was terribly afraid of the huge roller coaster that appeared in front of me, and while I waited in line, the anxiety of waiting to die in a roller coaster made my heart beat through my chest. The huge coaster went up and down and up and down, and even though my mom continuously asked me if I was sure that I wanted to go, I repeatedly said yes. I wanted to make it clear that I was a man, not a crying baby. Stepping onto that roller coaster was what I remember the most.
I lost my shoes that night to cause they fell off in the lake so my mom had to make me some it was pretty funny. I wouldn't say it was the best experience, but it sure wasn't the worst. Now for the funny part, Some of my worst experiences. i was about eleven so not that long ago we were down in the racetrack area we had found and we hadn't been there for a while and noticed there was a hill of rocks about four feet high so we decided to ride up them because it was flat on the top. I was scared like normal, so my grandpa said “ why don't you go ahead and do the throttle?” I was okay with that so I got ready my grandpa was behind me ready to steer and right when I pushed the throttle I pushed just a little too much and we tipped the four wheeler on top of us, we were crushed between the rocks and the four wheeler for about ten minutes and now when I run I think that's why my knee messes up all the time cause I got a rock stuck in it. Another experience is I was riding my sister around I was ten, she was five I had her up front so she would be safe and we pulled into the driveway because i needed a drink. We stopped and my mom got us a drink, I was turned around talking to my grandpa on the four wheeler no one was paying attention to my sister and while we were talking she pressed the throttle and we crashed into the
Have you ever wondered sitting on a chair at the height of 45,000 feet is safest way to travel? Yes, travelling through airplane is seven times safer than travelling through car and even walking on roads. But, though it is safest way, but it doesn’t mean that it is most comfortable and friendly way.
There are two flies to which the term May-fly is applied. The first, which is known by anglers generally as the May-fly, is the green drake, a large yellowish fly, which makes its appearance on some streams in great numbers, from the middle to the end of June. Trout are very fond of them, seizing greedily every unlucky individual that ventures on the water; and a couple of them put on a small hook, and allowed to play on the surface will be found very effective, particularly in woody places. It is subject, however, to the great objection of being almost as difficult to catch as the trout themselves; so that as far as angling, at least in Scotland, is concerned, it hardly deserves attention.
It was a murky overcast summer's eve; crisp morsels of rain splashed on the ground vigorously. Sounds of jet engines buzzed in the back of my ear lobes through the torrential downpour. The common sight of the departure time of our flight being delayed yet again caught my eye as we turned the corner towards the gate. Almost an hour later we began to finally line up at the gate to get on the what then seemed massive jet plane. I remember looking out the gigantic floor to ceiling windows at providence airport at the bright blue, red and orange of the jet, so excited to be going on it. Our family carefully chose seats right near the wing emergency exits. I rushed to the window seat, plopped down and buckled my seat belt. I was ready to go to Florida. I barely took up half of the seat, I was 8 or 9, and as a curious kid I was touching nearly anything I could put my hands on. I remember soon after we sat down in the back row on the left of the aircraft the same side as us, I heard a great commotion. A woman at the back was on the phone telling her friend she had drugs and she just took them. Not soon after three men boarded the plane. One had
At our arrival the planes door wouldn’t open and they said we might have to return to New York. I couldn’t believe this. I was ready to jump out a window. Finally we are let out of the plane and I had to wait like three hours for my grandfather to come pick me up.
The day we were leaving to go to the airport, I remember waking up and feeling a bit nauseous. I still had not realized yet that it was actually happening. I remember seeing my grandpa’s frightened face through the car’s window, crying like a child as his daughter and granddaughter were moving to an unknown place. Strangely enough, when we got to the airport we were told that we had missed our flight. This felt like a sign that maybe moving was a bad idea. I let out a huge sigh of relief because I thought that missing the flight indicated that we might decide to not move to Canada. Unfortunately, we booked another flight which was two days later. As we were heading back home from the airport, it all felt like a dream. It was unreal because we were mentally prepared to leave that day and then we missed the flight which made us even more nervous about the whole situation. As we made our way again to the airport for our second flight, I was even more overwhelmed and scared about the move than I was when we left for the first time. When my mom and I passed through security, I turned around and saw my uncle waving and I felt sick to my stomach. It hit me then that it was actually happening and that I was leaving the place and people that I had been most depended on for the last eight
When the plane started moving, I started to freak out a bit, but my sister was enjoying the ride. I was clutching the armrest of my seat so hard, my knuckles turned white. The plane went so fast, so I flew back into my seat.
Gazing at the stars for the first time is something I will never forget. My mom had just moved to North Carolina and my brother brought a friend down to hang out for the weekend. Since it was a rare occasion to have everyone together at the same time and in the same spot, we did everything possible to make the weekend memorable. Our new house had mini French doors that opened onto the flat part of the
8 years of age walking on a dirt road looking at bizarre houses in a strange land but yet so familiar. it was 2004 my parents felt that there kids were losing touch with their culture and become too americanized. they decided to take us to iraq to show us the ways of our people the land we truly belong not the place we live in. that was the first time i been to iraq i lived there for 2 years while the country was extremely dangerous. i have seen many things that most children in america will probably never witness. some violent but most was the difference between america and iraq culture, the houses the roads the traditions even the way people dress and act. it was all influenced from different religions and landscape, it gave me a deeper appreciation
Watching the New York Rangers with my dad became he and my mom watching me shoot a soccer ball or run a sprint. At the age of nine that all changed, my father passed away suddenly from a heart attack and all of the comforts and stability I had were jerked into turmoil. As the only third grader in my class with one parent, life started to feel very lonely. Even at such a young age I remember the feeling of my confidence and all sense of normal slipping through my grasp and the gaping hole in my gut that was getting larger each day.
When I was a young child I would love to hear my parents tell me that we were going on a trip. I would be full of excitement, because I knew that we would be going to a place that I had never seen before. My parents, my brother, and I would pack our luggage and venture out in our small gray minivan. Three of my most cherished memories in our minivan are when we went to Disney World, the beach, and the mountains.
When I was seven years old I went on my very first holiday abroad, to
We had been standing in the airport for what felt like hours at the time, but was probably only thirty minutes. We were waiting for my dad to bring my sisters from Moldova, a country in Europe landlocked between Romania and Ukraine. It is one of the poorest countries in Europe and is the main source of human trafficking in Russia and surrounding countries. It was the beginning of second grade when we first started working towards adopting Viorica, Marina, and Diana. They were three teenage girls that my dad had met while he was on a mission trip.
