In my line of employment I have developed the relational and technical skills required to perform and lead others. Technical knowledge is defined as “the knowledge and proficiency in a specific type of activity” (Manning & Curtis, 2003). I started in the waiver-caregiver field at the age of 19, I have managed to grow professionally. Developing the technical skills first hand on how to coordinate schedules and acquiring skills to work with the various consumers who require different types and levels of care. I also gained relational skills to work with and in various people and cultures. I still find myself at this level adjusting to new groups as they form and identify themselves, nonetheless I have been able to work with very difficult consumers
and their families. I do acknowledge that my conceptual skills need improvement, I have reached out to my supervisors for assistance with developing this skill and they have responded by allowing me attend trainings, planning meetings and public forums. Through these actions I have gained a greater understanding of where we as a company stand on current issues. I have been able to be a part of developing strategies to assist the managing supervisors on issues such as overtime and employee relations. Most importantly I feel that I am more proficient in the directives I give my staff in daily operations.
The employees feel explaining how things get done will help prepare the clients to the next level of care. As a leader, the organization needs help with change, and to change the negative behavior of the employee’s lack of motivation. In which, the employees are not recognizing the need of change. The organization wants to make it easier for the clients to learn how independence work; the only way for the clients to learn as if we set up the facility as they are independent with the help of the employee’s. This will help prepare the clients for when the time of transition comes, the clients are capable know how to live and do things on their own. In order to get the employees on board, I have to help them understand why the organization is going with new methods and techniques that will service the client’s needs to be
Changing history has profound effects on humans and the choices that they make, in 1984 by George Orwell Big Brother has the ability to manipulate the past, present, and future because he is the supreme leader of Oceania. The supreme leader of Oceania is Big Brother, none of the citizens in the country know if Big Brother is a group or a single individual. Big Brother stepped into power after the rebellion and has maintained absolute power over his citizens. In order to gain absolute power, Big Brother had to destroy human relationships. Relationships are a problem for Big Brother because they allow citizens to form bonds with one and other. Big Brother has ruined humanity and the relationships that they have in order to gain absolute power. By controlling the essential parts of relationships, physical contact, sex, and breaking the bond between parents and children, Big Brother successfully turns society into individuals in order to gain absolute power which will ensure that he will never lose power.
To understand the skills necessary to achieve cooperative learning you first need to have a brief introduction to the subject of cooperative learning itself:

The supervision of teachers and the methods an administrator uses to go about doing this work is possibly the most important aspect to the job of a principal. Obviously the most important part of a school day is the instruction given to the students by the teacher. Since the principal no longer has the daily instruction of the students as one of their roles, the supervision and guidance of the people hired to do that role becomes the principal’s most important job.
Although I credit my uncle with inspiring my initial decision, my constantly growing interest in this field and desire to continue my education has grown from two sources: the Industrial Relations faculty at LeMoyne and my vocation as a martial arts instructor for almost five years. From my professors, I have learned the practical side of my intended profession: the multitude of laws protecting worker's rights in the workplace, procedures for collective bargaining and arbitration, and how compensation systems function. My job, on the other hand, has helped me acquire the "people" skills that are crucial to being an effective H.R. manager. In the course of a normal workday, I must communicate with a diverse group of people ranging in age from three to seventy-two years old. Each student has unique needs and goals that I must identify and pay attention to. I must constantly evaluate students and give them constructive feedback, walking that fine line between support and criticism. At the same time, I delegate tasks to the less senior instructors and class helpers, while helping them improve their teaching skills. It is challenging and constantly educational. These two sources, my professors and my job, have succeeded in transforming a disinterested college freshman into a senior who has a focused career path.
I am good at communicating with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team. I listen attentively when being spoken to by others and through my bachelor’s degree program I learned several helpful tools to assist with becoming a better nurse and leader. Journaling helps to reflect back on the day and different situations to get a better understanding of how to handle or not handle things in the future. Mentoring has been a great resource for me since I was a cardiac nurse for so long I was not sure exactly what to expect when transferring to home care. I have a supervisor who has graciously taken me under her wing and assisted me through all the Medicare and Medicaid guidelines which is something I did not have to deal with very much while working in the hospital. I am great at advocating for my patients but I do fall short when it comes to advocating for myself. I have held both nursing and management roles during my nursing career which I feel will attribute to my success in this program but there are still several things that I need to improve
During the course of this semester; the variety of writing styles and essays assigned to me in my communication skills class encouraged the development of my writing skills, as well as provided me with more self-assurance in my abilities. My writing, research, and presentation abilities enhanced through practice, determination, and the understanding I gained during this course. With every single writing assignment, I learned new innovative approaches and skills, which enhanced my abilities to improve my thoughts logically, enabling me to write more clearly, and to organize my papers more effectively. At the beginning of this semester; despite the fact that I already knew the terminology MAP: message, audience, purpose; I never really understood the significance of MAP. For this reason, my writing lacked clarity, organization, and my writings appeared less focused on the topics. As a result my research papers and essays did not flow as smoothly from one passage to the next. Furthermore, I was unaccustomed with the precise procedures used when writing an essay. For instance, my previous classes before college, although requiring a reference page, did not require me to include proper citations in my writings. After evaluating the quality of my writing toward the end of the semester, I recognized vast improvements in several areas of my writing. By concentrating on the beginning stages of my writings, I could distinguish ahead of time my audience and my message. As a result, my essays are clear, and I remain on topic. In addition to that using transition phrases efficiently also helps my writing to flow smoothly. The proper use of transitions makes my writings easy to follow from one topic to the next. I also learned that pre-writing...
The power of knowledge gives a person the ability to influence other’s actions. In addition, when a person is knowledgeable and skillful in him/her profession, the rest of the team, including the leaders respected his/her decisions, actions or judgments. For example, nurses with years of expertise have the ability to exert power and authority over other staff with less level of knowledge. They may not be managers, but their leadership skills and outstanding competence made them role models in the delivery of quality patient care. They are valuable pieces inside the organization because they can guide the staff’s work toward the organization goals (Whitehead, Weiss, & Tappen,
My first wish is to learn and enrich my skills. Co-op allows high school students to apply academic study to the workplace. By alternating study terms with work terms, I can test conceptual knowledge whilst applying pre-existing skills such as being able to communicate. Likewise, I can acknowledge my skills, and discover and amend my strengths and weaknesses. I hope to develop my skills through hands-on experience. Skills such as being able to deal with conflict, make decisions, and work with a team. I believe that acquiring such skills is not only crucial in the workplace, but also in the real world. Hence, I intend to achieve this goal by interacting (cooperating, showing curiosity, asking questions) with the staff at Windsor Regional Hospital in hopes to learn and follow them by example.
Purpose: The interpersonal skill which I intended to develop more was leaning how to express my emotions my accurately. Learning to express ones emotions is a challenging process that can develop over time. This skill personally for me was a challenge since I usually don’t express my emotions but I try to stay serious/professional in every situation that I can. I feel that not having the ability to express my emotions accurately hinders me from effective communication and relationships with others. Four main characteristics that I came across that are affected involve self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. I’m not able to give honest opinions of what I think, it affects my stress management, I don’t
I have developed strong communication skills and gained such strong interdisciplinary relationships with doctors, nurse practitioners, patient care technicians, and healthcare professionals. Teamwork and collaboration attributes will be useful in my preparation to become an autonomous nurse practitioner and I am looking forward to further developing my connections, challenging myself and expanding my nursing
Improving my communication skills has been a work in progress starting back in the early years of my life. I have always been my own worse critic. Usually beating myself down through interpersonal communication. Now as an adult I have made great improvements but still have trouble dealing with perception and self-image. Not being raised in an environment of positive reinforcement and poor communication in the workplace I have made it a point to change that trait in my own family and professional environment.
A relationship is what we choose to have with a family member, friend, significant other, and/or a person that we just have met. You should know that there should be a strong connection or bond for the relationship to grow in many levels. Relationships tend to vary from impersonal to personal. A description of an impersonal relationship is someone who does not care and explicit a lack of concern to anyone they are communicating with. In personal relationships, people do care about each other and share their thoughts and feelings. In my life, I allowed myself to become aware of what needs to be done to improve my relationship skills. I am still in the process of making those changes.
Communication is an important aspect of processing and transferring information in our society. The important entities needed for a successful communication includes; a sender, receiver, message and feedback. First, the sender is a person or entity that is sending information to the receiver. After receiving the message, the receiver will attempt to decode the message and prepares a proper response (feedback). Communication is an essential part of our daily interactions; it can be seen used in businesses, for pleasure, sports, education and many more activities.
