The capacity to overcome hardship and recover from trying circumstances in life is known as resilience, it is a capacity which greatly showcases how emotionally and mentally strong individuals are. Because the the elders of the community had experienced electrical blackouts such as the one Evan was facing, they were able to adapt easily, guiding the younger generations to do the same. Through themes of community, cultural legacy, and adaptation, the novel Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice emphasizes survival and resiliency. We must not put ourselves first and ignore the development and prosperity of our neighbourhood. For our own sakes, as much as for the sakes of others, our goals must be wide enough to encompass their goals and needs.
