In this chapter, I will present the questions that were asked during the interviews and two corresponding answers to each of the questions. 4.1. Section 1: Ministry Policy and Practice Question 1: Regarding the people involved in the refugee ministry, what are the signs of their relationship with God and other people? Answer A: "A majority of the volunteers are committed believers in Christ who are involved in local churches. One or two are not believers but help because of their compassion and their relationship with other volunteers. Many of the volunteers have gone out of their way to visit and build deeper relationships with the refugee families." Answer B: "The love of Christ is very evident in all of our volunteers. We entered into this ministry less than three months after beginning a revitalization of our church as a church plant, so research and assessment were not given much priority. Essentially, our initiative and motivation for this ministry were born out of the necessity of alleviating some of the pressure of Kilbourne Park Baptist Church, which had become overwhelmed by their ESL student numbers. We did meet to plan our ESL ministry program before beginning it and received help and training from an experienced ESL teacher and teacher trainer, as well as helpful suggestions and an overall program design from one of our members who is trained in TESOL. Answer A: "Yes. In addition to learning from people with refugee ministry experience and ESL experience, we also seek to learn from each other and learn and build on our experiences up to this point. We meet periodically to debrief and to plan for the next stages of ministry." Answer B: "Yes, I definitely see our group as a learning entity. Most of us are new to refugee ministry and have learned a lot over the past year since we began. We have provided some limited cultural education related to Muslims, which I believe has been helpful.
