I am currently working as an associate dentist in two different practices and pursuing MSc in restorative and aesthetic dentistry in parallel .Being the early years in dentistry I felt the need of improving my skills and found this course to be the best one for the young dentist to have all necessary skills to practice dentistry in a better way in future .The dissertation part of the course has been very daunting as I had never done one before ,it appeared as very tough to begin with and just the thought of it .

Feelings:
I felt extremely stressed and depressed to know that i was such an important part of the course which I had no clue how to do .We were informed that we will be given support throughout the dissertation and …show more content…

Teaching materials provided and the vast reading helped me to clear my doubts along with the help of the tutors.
The topic I had a chosen was of a particular interest to me as I was having trouble managing the patients with the similar symptoms on a day to day basis. I wanted to have a clearer idea myself and to show to the dental field overall the evidence if found any in the research for the well being of the patients and to increase the efficiency of the dentist in providing the similar treatment for the patients suffering from dentinal hypersensitivity . I took it as a challenge and started making a draft, going through the teaching materials provided by the university and the feedback by my tutor. At this early stage I could only hope that that everything is going to be on track and will be fine. But it was not as easy I thought it is going to be .It needed a lot of research ,reading through the past papers, getting to know the methods of doing research from the scratch .It was getting difficult as the day progressed but constant reading ,discussions and the feedbacks were very helpful to be on the right track. It was a constant struggle to cope with the work and personal life balance
