Have you ever wondered what true happiness is? Or what is living in a Promised Land like? Or just wondering how can a priest live a happy life if they are to give up on a lot of things? Or have you ever wondered of your purpose on life? On why we are all here on Earth? I believe, each and every one of us, is living in this world with a purpose. It may be a great or a simple one but we are all called by God to fulfill certain tasks. And as we fulfill whatever that task is, we should always be ready to face all sorts of challenges along the way.
Just like in the old days before Jesus walks on the surface of the Earth. There were a lot of people called by God to fulfill some mission, because He was preparing a promise for all humanity. Some mission He believes to be so important to accomplish to achieve a life of Eternity with Him. And these people who fulfilled all the tasks were all written in the history to have contributed a great deal in the realization of God’s greatest plan. A plan so important that we have now a chance to experience and that is to be able to live in the Promised Land. A land filled with happiness.
I could just imagine all the obstacles or painful experiences the people of the past like Abraham, Jacob and Moses had to undergo in order to pave the way for us to enjoy the so called Promise Land. Sacrifices that ordinary people may deem impossible to surpassed. Just take for instance, the great test given to Abraham when he was asked by God to sacrifice the life of his beloved son Isaac, it was a huge test he was able to pass because of his obedience to the Lord. And since these people were given some tasks by our Lord that they greatly tried to accomplish, we can now be assured that as long as we follow ...

...ication or connection with the Lord is another key to live a happy life. A life guided by the Holy Spirit, is always a life of happiness. Surely, problems here in there will come your way yet once you are constantly in-touched with the Lord, you will be assured of the best possible way to handle problems. Happiness is an elusive dream for some, that is because a life without God is never fulfilled, and a life-filled with superficial happiness is not considered happy also. This is because this type of happiness, I think is fleeting. Things may not happen the way you like it, but the greater plan of God will always prevail. And this we should always keep in mind, we should always be an example to others by the way we live. Just like the famous saying, as we live our lives, we should always be a blessing to others, and that alone is a big purpose in life to live by.
“Objection, evasion, joyous distrust, and love of irony are signs of health; everything absolute belongs to pathology.” (Nietzsche 1886) This quote from Beyond Good and Evil, is an example of existentialist purpose, since he is listing parts of life, some of witch can be considered purpose to life, and the consider it a disease, as if he has no purpose. I somewhat agree, because I don’t understand the point in life,¬¬–– there is no point is there. I guess the purpose of living is the everyday family, friends, and trying best to be happy or to make everyone who’s around happy. To be completely honest I’m not sure if there is a purpose, I would think that the main purpose for humankind is to function normally for society. This way we can all insure the well being of others and to keep others alive and well. I would say living in harmony with others would be my purpose. I will know that I have fulfilled my purpose when those around me are happy and at
It all started with a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. During the 1940s, United States placed an embargo on Japan’s access to war materials in an attempt to stop Japan from further invasion in Asia. However, the plan did not work out well. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked the US’s Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor, and caused more than 2,400 deaths of Americans (Roark 671). This surprise attack not only pushed the United States into World War II, but also triggered the start of racial discrimination against Asians in America, specifically Japanese Americans, Chinese, and of course, the Japanese. In this essay, an excerpt taken from the Life Magazine will be analyzed and supported with The American Promise written by James Roark et al.
Even though God saw people as evil, he wanted to show his grace. He wanted to separate certain people in the world as His chosen people. “He wanted a chosen people: 1. To whom He might entrust the Holy Scriptures. 2. To be His witness to the other nations. 3. Through whom the promised Messiah could come” (Mears 47). This covenant is made between God and Abram. This covenant marks the beginning history of Israel, God’s chosen people.
“Life is a balanced system of learning, adjusting, and evolving. Whether pleasure or pain; every situation in your life serves a purpose. It is up to us to recognize what that purpose could be.” - Dr. Steve Maraboli
The following sections describe the ongoing march of the people under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. People stop in the end to relax and at various sites. The next stage of the journey of the chosen people was the conquest of the land beyond Jordan. The last chapters of the Book of Numbers are all about the enumeration of rights, which Jehovah gave to his people. They had to follow them, and always live in peace with God 's will. Book of Numbers describes the last stage of the Israelites wandering in the desert. The most important message of this letter is to highlight the specific hierarchy in the “God and man” relationship. Meanwhile wandering, people rebelled and constantly were having doubts which was not something pleasing to God. In response, he always punished people who were guilty of that. The Book of Numbers also highlights that the Promised Land could only be reached by those who were most persistent, patient, and steadfast in their faith. This connects to salvation and eternal life. In heaven, the Lord will have only the best by his side, those people with a pure heart and a willingness to
“The Old Testament has a vision of the people of God which will include, but not confined, to ethnic Israelites: many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become may people’ (Zech. 2:11); it was built into the “genetic code” of Israel from the outside, as the New Testament’s scriptural quotation and argumentation on this point show clearly” (Wright, C., 1992, p.2). These types of passages assured the people of Israel that God was near, and they also sculpted the path of today’s world. The Old Testament lays out the principles of the Bible. The stories are used a guidance to those who are seeking a relationship with God and have a desire to
Too often, we become too caught up in our everyday mundane routines that we forget, or perhaps, never truly see what our purpose is. We forget what truly motivates us to live and what truly drives us to reach a greater goal. Oscar Wilde once said, “To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.” As I look at the people around me, I see ones who furnish their goals with intents of gaining wealth, success, or recognition. However, are they truly happy? How many times have you actually sat down and asked yourself, “why do I do what I do?”.
...orking progress to reach a stage where one can focus on oneself and see the larger picture, as an adventure and experiences. The one secret to actually getting happiness has nothing to do with setting goals or achieving them. To obtain your definition of happiness, firstly, be more optimistic and have a positive outlook on all opportunities and not look for “happy moments,” because “happy moments” can last for so long. All in all, happiness equals appreciating each and every moment for whatever it has to offer, and to add personal values and purpose onto your life. This all might make happiness hard to achieve, but the up side is that happiness can be created in any situation. There are plenty of stories of people facing hardships in their life, but would still find happiness in their family, faith, and career, and the hardships just doesn’t seem too hard after all.
A happy life and meaningful life are associated with one another, since happiness is a feeling that can drive you toward finding this meaningful life. Depending on where you are in your life, be it a student or worker, happiness should be incorporated into it. Having the passion in your work will make it more valuable and respected for yourself as we spend most of our time at school or work. Also connections with people are made throughout your time at school/work which become a part of a meaningful life. Having happiness will help create more of these relationships and be able to give you the needed support for life.
Everyone has a purpose and a calling in life, and it is our duty to find what that
I truly believe that every single person in the world has a purpose in life. God created each and every one of us for a reason. Whether we know it or not our life is planned and we follow a path throughout our life. In this path, we have the option to make good decisions or bad decisions. In order to achieve salvation and enter a virtuous after life we had to do deeds that had a positive impact on other people. In order to do this though, one must have the self-discipline and devotion to God. There are many obstacles that can get in the way of achieving this goal and the main one is our desires. Desire is a strong feeling of something we want or wish to have. Our desire negatively impacts our life because it detaches our body both physically and emotionally from our mind which then influences us to make morally wrong decisions.
...f being satisfied in life: There is no rule. Each individual has the right to look at things from his own point of view. We can all choose different paths and ways to fulfill our happiness. We can see it in wealth, in the dream-job, or in the people around us. As long as we choose that direction and take those decisions by ourselves, without being influenced by any external thought, happiness is inevitable. Here, I agree with Daniel Gilbert when he said “I don't think that's the problem. The problem is you can't always know what you want.” That is why the most important thing for happiness to be achieved is recognizing our wants and desires because just when we do, we will finally get to say “I am happy with my life!”
I believe that happiness is the key to living a good and prosperous life. Through all of the sadness and hate in the world, happiness gives me hope. It gives not only me, but others hope and joy. Happiness gives us something to hold onto, therefore we cherish it as much as we can.
Happiness can come in different forms for each person. Some people dream of achieving great wealth to buy everything they ever wanted. Others may find simple tasks such as, reading a book, to make them happy. There are people who find happiness by making others happy, whether it’d be, feeding the homeless, or giving random compliments to strangers. I think that most people would agree that the purpose of life is happiness. There are several things that bring happiness to my world, which include, family, health, and laughter, among other things. Accomplishments can also bring happiness to people, which is what many people strive for during their lives. It can be a promotion, diploma, house, etc. It is usually something that is challenging,
“Happiness is involved in a deep sense of purpose in life,” quoted Mike Steere in Pursuit of Happiness. But, how exactly does happiness play a purpose in life? The answer lies within you. Only you know what your happiness is and what it does for you. Happiness lies within me in several ways. Happiness definitely plays a major role at this point of my life.
