Sometimes you do something incredibly stupid now for Jim that came more often than most people but here is one major time that he did something that would seem insane to the average human mind but not to me. Jims and his friend Carl were over at Jim's house running around in the yard they decided to go over and climb the tree that Jim had in his yard. So they got up there and started jumping around when all of a sudden Jim had this great idea Redneck Tightrope. Jim told Carl to wait for a bit while he went in to fetch some rope with the right length and width. After about five minutes of searching Jim finally found it a 22 foot long 1 inch thick white rope it was the perfect length and perfect thickness he grabbed the rope and rushed back outside to the tree he called Carl down and he helped Jim tie the rope on one tree and then the other. …show more content…
It was a perfect work of tangled knots and bad engineering they did a quick game of lawn mower racing in order to see who would be able to go up on the glorious death trap first.
Obviously Jim won so that means he would be the first contestant. Jim made the easy climb up to the tree using stubbs from where branches had been cut off after about 10 seconds of climbing he got a hold of the lowest branch and hauled his 110 pound body up there and made one step onto the rope at first Jim put roughly 75 percent of his weight on the branch that was hanging about 3 feet over the rope after all the only thing keeping the rope from sliding of the tree were more stubs from a bad arborist. Jim gradually got about 6 feet across the 15 foot span of the rope and about 10 feet in it was time to switch from the strong pine branch that he was holding onto to a thinner one on the other tree. It looked like no problem from the ground but being there seeing He would have to quickly shuffle 2 feet not holding onto anything and relying on an inch thick rope to keep him from falling it was a lot harder than he would have
thought. Of course Jim got across with only a little bit of a wobble but now it was Carl's turn to commit this dangerous feat. He got up the same way that Jim did but his go across was a little more shaky. sure he got to the gap where you had to switch to the other branch but that's where the milk spilled and the toast burnt. he had just let go of the branch when the rope started to wobble of course that made Carl shake which mad the the rope wobble even more until the rope finally gave out from under his feet and he fell off. he landed right on his arm with a thud he ended up spraining his arm that day but you know live and learn.

His second attempt was again a failure but of a different and more serious type. The momentum of Jim’s feet kept going as he grasped the rim. This motion swung him upside down forcing him to lose his grip and fall ten very long feet.
You must first go and find an area where you can repel down that has 3 places to tie off from. You must find 3 sturdy places that will not give way once you start to repel down. Some examples would be thick trees, steel beams, and concrete pillars. Then you must tie a figure eight knot at the end of your rope that you are repelling off from. Then you will wrap the rope around the secure structure five times and slip a carabineer in the figure eight and attach and lock it to the other end of the rope. Pull the rope so it is tight and there is no chance of slipping. Next find the other two places to tie off from and go ahead and tie the webbing into water knots around the tie off points and attach a carabineer and lock it to the webbing from the rope. Where you attach the carabineer to the rope you should also tie a figure eight knot in the rope. Once you have tied everything up you must then go ahead and test the ropes to make sure they will not slip.
Tree stands consist of two parts, a top sitting platform, and a bottom standing platform. In order to climb the tree, both parts must be adjusted to fit around the tree, and placed at a slight upward angle. To start the climb, the hunter stand on the bottom platform so the teeth can bite into the tree and then sit down on the top platform for the teeth to bite into the tree. Once the teeth are firmly secured in the tree, the hunter pulls the top platform to waist level, sits back down, and slides their feet into the foot straps and pulls the bottom platform up. The hunter repeats this process until at desired height.
