Many students attend schools with different mindset and attitude that have been moulding them from home. Many times parents often ignore the fact of providing and teaching good discipline procedures in order to have a good self-discipline child. If self-discipline is not taught from home through biblical perspective than teachers must ensure that it is taught in school. Not all schools practice redemptive discipline. However, it is one of the most impact strategies available in moulding student’s behavioural problems. Redemptive discipline is a teaching view to be similar with how God teachers His people (Graham, 2003, p. 265). However, in the book of Romans stated that the main goal of redemptive discipline is not to conform students behaviorally but for students to be “conformed to the image of God” (Romans: 8:29, English standard version). Teachers must base their rules also on the biblical perspective in order to bring students to a point of submitting themselves to the authority of God. In order to achieve this goal, it involves more than a simply regulating behaviour and also being able to lead students to the point of self- discipline where a student can, among other things, recognise, admit and repent of their sin (Tripp, 2001). Redemptive discipline is moulding a student’s behaviour in cooperation with Christ teaching. It enables learners to see Christ more clearly in a way to see how God have created their lives and for them to personally experience His salvation. In redemptive discipline, students’ needs to know that it is Christ who has changed their hearts and moulds their character. Therefore, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, students are able to be restored to the image of God. Teachers must also provide a spirit- filled environment that the student would actually experience Gods present in the classroom.
