LORA is 57 miles north of Fort Leonard wood and has over 1150 miles of shoreline for Active Duty member, retired military and DoD employees to enjoy.

Working as a recreation specialist at the Lake of the Ozarks is combining 2 of my biggest passions in life the outdoors and helping the military.

...e school, such as; Pelotonia, Light the Night for leukemia and lymphoma, Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities, etc… For many of these organizations I have volunteered more than once. Volunteering at Light the Night has a story. For my 16th Birthday party, I wanted to have my friends and I volunteer in the day while having fun at night. So I had 7 boys and girls, along with me, volunteer for Light the Night, organized by me. The party was a huge success and a lot of fun. I look forward to organizing more volunteer opportunities for my friends and I.
I am going to take the class Practicum, which is a health science class where I get to work at a hospital and learn how to become a medical assistant. At the end of the year I will take the licensing exam and hopefully will be able to get a job as a medical assistant. I am also thinking of rejoining HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) because there are medical volunteering opportunities as well as school medical competitions. I now volunteer with the other members at elementary schools, parades downtown, etc. I think volunteering in any form is very good for teaching the values of service, how it’s important to give back to the community and help those who have have helped you. I volunteer for AVID and NHS.
Who I am as a person is the sum of my experiences, what I enjoy and the skills that I possess. From an early age I have always enjoyed the outdoors and find nature relaxing. My enjoyment of the woods has led to camping so many times that I have lost track, which has led to backpacking becoming one of my favorite ways to get out of the city and into the mountains, just myself and my dogs. As I grew older, my love for the outdoors

I am currently a member of the National Honor Society. This organization is based on the concept of volunteering for the local community. I currently have 30 volunteering hours for this year. Along with this I have participated in a habitat for humanity build. Prior to joining the National Honor Society, I have accumulated around 10 hours in volunteer work that I received my junior year of high school as
This involved working in High Tide Kayak School which provided help and support for individuals from all around the world. The centre focused on adaptive courses for people with varied physical disability. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in these courses while observing their practical applications. I was able to support a various groups, providing help and support to those who needed to improve their confidence and improve their skills. This also helped me to improve my communication skills. I particularly enjoyed kayaking for the first time which encouraged me to discover how much I enjoy learning new skills.
I am interested in Footlocker because of its outstanding reputation of shoe history. When I saw that you were looking for a sales associate I knew that I would the best fit. I have great leadership abilities as a two year captain of a football team, outstanding merchandising and organization skills and great customer service by volunteering weekly in my local recreation community center. I am ready to apply these skills to the sales associate position.
When deciding on what career best suited me, I found myself considering my role as a global citizen. As an inhabitant of this earth, I felt that it was my duty to advocate for its protection. I therefore decided to study Environmental Engineering. By generating ways for humans to creatively coexist with our environment I will be helping to create a more sustainable world as a whole. Similarly, this idea of making decisions based on the needs of my community has been prevalent throughout my life. I have participated in many volunteer groups including National Honor Society along with lending my knowledge to those who require help through tutoring and in-class aid. I plan on continuing to take an active leadership role in my community through a profession in environmental engineering and strong sense of environmental stewardship.
I was nominated by my counselor who saw potential for leadership development and diversity amalgamation. To say the least, I strongly believe that the leadership engagement and grueling situations I have endured will help in the long run to accomplish my future goals. Ever since I was in JROTC, I knew that I wanted to serve; I felt I owed an obligation to give back to a nation that has selflessly gave my father citizenship and an opportunity to succeed. On that note, my future plan is to commission in the US ARMY and seek an Active-duty Commission. I have taken a step forward to my goal by, enlisting into the TX Army National Guard my senior year and delaying my first semester of college to complete Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT). A short-term goal I have is to ensure that I take advantage of the student resources offered here at Tarleton to overall maintain a 4.0 GPA. That will put my name on the Dean’s list and be a stepping stone to my four year career here at Tarleton. I hope to accomplish my goals by staying involved on campus, continuing my membership on SGA, becoming Battalion Commander my senior year, and
I have been involved in the American Cancer Society for five years. My team, Team Hoot has raised funds for cancer as well as participating in Relay for Life each year. This year, I will be on the board committee at Relay; giving back to the survivors. This organization is one that I always promote and give back to. Also being involved in Relay for Life this year, National Honors Society is a club that helps the community. Being on the executive board, I correlate new service projects as well as corresponding with the Lee County National Honor Society chapter. Also, I am forming a new club at North Fort Myers High, Red Cross Club. Being president, Red Cross helps donates funds back to the American Red Cross. This year we are planning to donate materials for our troops as well as materials for individuals in disaster situations. Giving back to the community is very important to me. Being passionate about making a difference is a drive that I always
The entire course content including envisioning, developing and implementing a recreation program, as well as preparing a grant application will be most useful in my professional career. Practicing wilderness survival is fun. In order for the outdoors to be fun, you love it instantly or you have to learn to love it. I have always loved the outdoors. Who would not like to go to the mountains and see something new? Camping and hiking may not be for everybody, but the skills are necessary for survival.
Sometimes I need to take a break from all of the working and school and just do things that are fun such as playing sports, hiking, and fishing. I love to play sports. Playing sports is one of my favorite things to do. I love to be competitive and also win. Sports are a fun activity that I can do to relax and have a good time. Sports also help me stay active and in shape so that I stay healthy and strong. Likewise, hiking is also an activity that I find fun and relaxing. When I go hiking I like to go somewhere that is high up, to a cliff or a canyon. When I am up there I feel like I am on the top of the world and nothing bad can happen. I love seeing the wildlife and being outdoors. Www.fitness.mercola.com says that being outdoors is a good thing because it boosts creativity and focus, improves mood and self-esteem, being in nature helps to create a sense of calmness that helps boost self-esteem. It also increases vitamin D levels from being out in the sunlight. All of these examples are reasons why I enjoy being outside and hiking and why I should manage my time to be outdoors more. One more activity that I love to do is going fishing. I love to fish and feel the coolness of the water around my legs. Hearing the river run and the animals, making noises are all things that I enjoy. The thing that I like most about fishing though is that it is so
2006). To me recreation is having fun with people that makes you laugh and smile. Outdoor recreation, to me, means to remember the joy that nature brought me at five years old with friends and family exploring what Mother Nature provides us and feeling youthful again. Sometimes this would be exploring the countryside, seeing what humanity has not touched, and running around the fields at top speed. Finding a new path to take or just exploring somewhere new by hiking to a swimming hole, or even just walking around somewhere new and taking in all the details so you can recreate them in a drawing to share with people and to look back on years from now. During my experience simulation, I walked along paths in the forest by my house and took in every detail that nature provides. I would look at a fallen tree and remember being at my cottage climbing a falling tree and wanting to hang off it. I saw all the leaves changing colour and remembered cleaning up the grounds of my family farm and then wanting to jump into the colourful pile. My experience gave me memories of when I was younger and it allowed me
