Rebellious Teenagers
Romeo and Juliet is a work of literature based on two young kids who believe to be in love with each other, they are on opposing sides when referring to the two sides which does not allow them to be together. They become a private couple where other people were not allowed to know about it, they got married in secret where they were ignored and neglected for what they wanted by their parents. They were different from anyone before having done this since no ones done it before. In these aspects there are many other literature pieces that include a sense of teen rebellion, they are primarily used as a form to prove a point or get their way of something. A few prime examples of something such as teenage rebellion occurring in different areas of art including music and films are Gary Come Home and The Emoji Movie, these two show a character of which is being neglected for their needs and or what they want, The song Gary Come Home from Spongebob shows a pet who is neglected by their parent and or owner the sentimental episodes song explores the consequences of neglection showing Gary running away and creating a different more enjoyable life for himself while leaving his owner behind. The famous lines from the song “Gary come home” also known as the title shows the owner expressing that Gary ran away and he wants him to return much like the parents and other people of the town in the story (Gary’s). This is in direct correlation to Romeo and Juliet where the two kids run away to create what they believe to be a better, more suitable life for them as their love is forbidden because they are on opposite sides of two feuding families.
