Sitting down to your favorite romance or murder mystery novel does more for you then entertain. Enjoying the best chapter helps with brain connectivity, focus, and language comprehension. Reading anything helps your brain in some way. Whether you are just skimming or are super engaged in the book, your mind is working to improve. Getting involved in a good book can be better for you then you think. Finding something that peaks your interest can be difficult but it serves a good purpose in the end.

When you read, especially fiction, you experience a broad sweep of human life. You gain access to the thoughts of others, look at history through another person’s eyes and learn from their mistakes, something that you otherwise would not be able to experience.
For me, reading as well as rereading, books such as Junie B Jones, Berenstain Bears, or the Harry Potter series, impacted my life immensely by increasing my vocabulary, developing my vital language skills and many more developmental skills. In the past, being literate meant beating kids in how many books I could read and being able to comprehend difficult vocabulary, but now being literate in the adult world means developing new and creative ideas or being able to prosper an opinion based on facts and previous knowledge.
If you had the choice between your phone and a book,you would probably without thinking grab your phone. But what if you knew that reading is crucial to a future. In “Reading for pleasure Is in Painful Decline” by Stephen L. Carter and “Twilight of the books” by Caleb Crain, both authors argue about the state of reading in The United States. Within both passages they give valid points as to why and how the state of reading are negatively affecting the country. Stephen L. Carter represents how the decline in reading for fun is the main concern, while on the other hand, Caleb Crain shows it’s technology and social media that actually are the main contributors.

Modern literature makes fascinating reads because readers are able to escape into a fantasy world. Reading exposes the reader into a different mindset (Covington). It allows bookworms to think about what they do not have, what they wish to have, or simply just escape from reality. Sometimes it is nice to sit down after a tiresome day, open up a fantasy book and read about the things that can never happen. The reader knows it will never happen, but it is just relaxing to start dreaming about the mystical.
My earliest memories related to reading I can scarcely remember not being able to read. I do have one memory of looking at the cover of a paperback book. The background was yellowish-orange, and the illustration was a pen and ink drawing of a young man, climbing along some rocks and looking over his shoulder. I recall making up a story about how he was running away from someone who was trying to hurt him. Years later, I found the book: it was kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson. I couldn't have been more than three or four when I saw that book for the first time. If it seems unbelievable that I could remember that far back, I think that the earliest memories I have are related to reading and, in fact, may well be due to reading. An older sister taught me to read when I was three. She made me learn the alphabet, and from there I moved on to sight words. I would learn a word and look for it in books for the rest of the day. My mother likes to talk about the day my word du jour was "the." I sat in the middle of the kitchen floor while she tried to make supper, pointing out one "the" after another, and each time she bent down and admired it. I don't recall when it all came together for me, and I became a reader. I remember Golden Books, two in particular. One was called Nurse Nancy and was about a little girl who liked to play nurse, putting Band-Aids on everyone in sight. The book originally came with a set of real Band-Aids, but by the time the book made it to me from two older sisters, the Band-Aids were long gone. What did I read? In this paper, I will analyze reading strategies for the content area of language arts in a fifth grade class. Reading comprehension is one of the most critical skills a student can master. Without a firm grasp on the comprehension process, learners will struggle in every subject they encounter, whether it’s science, math, or social studies as well as everyday living skills. The content areas typically included disciplines like science, social studies/history and math, but any area outside of English literature instruction constitutes a content area. The reading associated with content area courses reflects not only the concepts and ideas important to these subjects, but also the text structures used by those practicing the field.

Why do humans reading in order to gain knowledge? In this paper I'll explain how a reading of chapters 2-3 in Genesis can be combined with psychological research to partially explain why we may read. The two chapters of Genesis I’ll discuss demonstrates that acquisition of knowledge implies that it is impossible not to acknowledge that you were once ignorant of whatever it is you have learned. The psychological research explains that whenever you read a story (like this story within Genesis), what you feel during the experience is based on the order of your memory, not on the order of the actual experience depicted. I'll then combine these two threads together to show that reading allows us to gather knowledge that augments our consciousness. It does this by surpassing the highest level of consciousness that we are capable of knowing without it.

The books that do this are among some of the best. Anyone who wants to write an award-winning story, should know that certain qualities are required of the book. The ingredients for a good book are an immense amount of detail, a fast-paced plot, and a lovable main character.
Usually, when you read a good series, you will want to read the rest of the books. If the students like the series they will continue reading, and learn more vocabulary and reading skills to help them succeed in school. If students get interested in a book, then they will continue reading, which will also help their academic performance. If they are reading more, they will want to read instead of doing unproductive things. Therefore, the more books they read the less times they will be spending doing unproductive things.
