Joining the Unites States military can be rewarding, it can provide you with an education and a life changing experience at least that is what you are told. Even though these statements are true; when the military is recruiting they hide information, for example one is sexual assault among the soldiers, especially females. Sexual assault is described as sexual contact upon a person or persons unwillingly, by means of force, physical threat, and abuse of authority (womenshealth.gov).

And the public has become aware of this issue, researchers, victims and other female leaders are releasing books, articles and films concerning the issue. On the long run can affect the numbers of females that would like to join the military. If the military do not change the process in which they handle these cases the number of women within the military will diminish. The soldiers committing this type of behavior are not being punished, the victims are the ones receiving the punishment. The victims can be anybody, male or female but mostly females. When these victims come forward and report their assaults or rape, the other rebel on them and humiliate them. And they should be handle by civilian courts instead of their own military leaders. This process would allowed for the victims to report their cases much easier and for the attackers to be fairly judge and punished. We all know that the military has made up rules and regulations to follow when a case is reported but as we can see it still favors the attackers.
