First, every two minutes someone in the United States is sexually assaulted, according to the rape crisis center. “Girls ages sixteen-nineteen are four times more likely to get raped than general population.”(RCC) I can’t even imagine what some of these women are going through. These men take these women peace of mind and hope away by having them to always look back and over their shoulder when walking down the street or even to the mail box. Being rape makes these women not want to even leave the house because it makes them think that it may happen again. Most females either abuse alcohol, drugs, or commit suicide after being raped.
More men rape for control more than to just have sex. Rape is an assault by a person using sexual intercourse or sexual violation of another person without their approval. Rape is considered a serious sex crime, as well as a humane assault. Men who become rapist are known to grow up in an environment where they are abused, molested themselves, or see their mothers or siblings go through it. Therefore, their innocents is taken away in their childhood and teen years because they are unable to get help or get out of the situation. As a result, most men with that experience become rapist. They feel like they’re gaining control and they’re dominate when raping their victim. They look for a victim that reminds them of their mother or siblings as a child.
In fact, sexual violence happens because men are either angry, have no control over anything, addicted to sex, or just depressed. It sickens me to know that men get gratification in raping women. ...hings these men come up with are so outrageous and unethical. It’s like not only do you rape me and badly scar me for the rest of my life, but also have the nerve to tell me I’m not worth anything, and I should kill myself.
Sex that’s forced is aroused by revenge and offsetting actions then by sexual ones. I feel no one will ever know the real reason behind why men rape because not every human is alike. Some do it for sex, some do it for the power, and some do it for both. All in all, it’s a bad thing to do and the rapist should be penalized for his or her actions. “To regard rape as an expression of sexual desire is not only an inaccurate notion but also an insidious assumption.” (Groth) Basically he’s saying that men do not rape for the pleasure, but because they want to have power and feel in control of a situation. Everyone has their own opinion to this crime.
