Shootings. Homicides. Bombings. It’s safe to say that crime is very abundant in today’s society, filling our news casts with daily reminders of the negative ora that is associated with criminal behavior. But why do people commit the crimes that they commit? Theologians have been studying crime for years, trying to determine the main reasons as to who commits crime and why. These theologians, such as Edwin Sutherland, Ronald Akers, and Robert Agnew, each take very unique view of criminal behavior, giving society many rationalities for these why people exhibit these behaviors.
...tions, which makes these groups much more dangerous. Behind the peaceful and reasonable mask, they seem quite harmless, which gives chances to act on sly. Intentions are overt; Islam religion and Muslim identity are seen as the only source of universality. The Ramadan’s sayings are like explicit indicator of their visions that is believed that all humanity either with gentle coercion or with overt violence will be Muslim. “One day we shall go back to the source!” (qtd in Bogaard). As long as Europe does not struggle to recover its weakness that generates powerless image in the eye of Muslims and does not abolish the Europe- Arab alliance that causes dependency on Arab countries; ultimately, cannot stop that the radical groups’ increasing power, the Islamization of Europe will become faster. In the light of these reasons, the coexistence in Europe is not possible.
Ritual fasting is obligatory during the month of Ramadan. Muslims must abstain from food and drink from dawn to dusk during this month, and are supposed to be especially mindful of other sins. The fast is meant to allow Muslims to seek nearness and to look for forgiveness from God, to express their gratitude to and dependence on him, and to atone for their past sins.
As the racial targeting, hate-crime increased, racial discrimination bullying, becoming victims of prejudice, and having unequal publicity because of bias racial after 9/11 towards the Islam-Americans. It was often proven how Islam-Americans have become pariahs in all religion that are in the categories of Islam, because of the similarity in the image that a Sikh-American or Muslim-American holds. However this bias view in society towards the Islamic-American is certainly wrong because it has created an unfair environment in communities for them which leads them to become and feel pariahs, as it should be change by speaking up, changing the way we socialize around the topic as it may spread.
The holidays celebrated by Lebanese Americans can vary depending on their religious views. Many Lebanese Christians celebrate the feast days of saints, Christmas and Easter. “Muslims celebrate three major holidays: Ramadan (the 30-day period of daytime fasting); 'Eid al Fitr, a five-day holiday that marks the end of Ramadan; and 'Eid al-Adha, the "Feast of the Sacrifice," which commemorates Abraham's agreement with God that he would sacrifice his son Ishmael” (Hajar & Jones, n.d.). The holidays celebrated can affect the food choices of this culture during the celebration period.
The author notes, “Since Trump's election, there's been an increase in the number of hate crimes reported against immigrants and minorities, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center and others. Muslim-Americans in particular are on edge. They haven't forgotten that Trump talked during the campaign about banning all Muslims from coming into the country” (Joel Rose). In this quote, Muslims are receiving increasing hate crimes because Trump normalizes discrimination for them. Furthermore, some terrorist attacks linking to Muslims has created the stereotype that all Muslims are terrorists. The author states, “It only took 14 handwritten words — delivered last week on a sheet of paper taped to their front door — to shatter their peace and make the Muslim family wonder how well they know the country they now call home” (Peter Holley). Amar Samel and his wife, Muna Abdalla, received hate-filled notes that threatened their lives and their comfort. Religious intolerance in some communities does not only threaten the lives of Muslims, but also threatens the safety of the
...se who commit such crimes, should not be associated with any religion at all" Nesbitt-Larking, 2007). A large population of Muslims recognize that they themselves also could do much more to connect with society on a bigger scale, to conquer the obstacles and difficulties that they experience and to take more accountability for integration. Nonetheless, commitment and involvement need also encouragement and support from the majority of society; there is a need to do more to provide accommodation for diversity and eliminate barriers to integration. Political members and the institutions have a meticulous duty to send an understandable message of respect to all communities and offer believable answers. Now more than ever they need to institute significant intercultural discourse and endorse practical policies that support integration and diversity among minorities.
Rape, kidnapping and domestic violent crimes have been increasing over the past decades. Studies proved that these crimes had influenced individual’s behavior and attitudes towards the community. Researches have also suggested possible solutions by the government. This could happen by raising awareness and provide support in order to influence the surroundings. Although, this essay concentrated on three types, the issue can be further analysed by investigating different areas, such as murdering and robbery. It appears to be that government should play a major role on reducing such crimes by implementing restricted policies and
For centuries, many variations of fasting have been used in an attempt to improve health. Recently however, the practicality of long-term fasting has been questioned, therefore causing intermittent fasting to emerge with debatable weight loss results. According to Adrianna Taylor Abbott, in her book Intermittent Fasting, this method of fasting is much more than simply dieting. Rather, it has evolved into a revolutionary way of living life and of improving overall fitness. This review will examine the overall reliability of the book’s claims as well as whether intermittent fasting should indeed be trusted as a viable method for weight loss.

Their religion, women, kids, and beliefs play a big role in the culture. Islam is the religion which claims a vast majority of the Iraqi population, the majority of the Iraqi’s identify with the Arab culture. The second-largest cultural group is the Kurds, who are in the highlands and mountain valleys of the north in a politically autonomous settlement. The Kurds occupy the provinces of As Sulaymaniyah, Dahuk and Irbil, the area of which is commonly referred to as Kurdistan. Almost all Iraqi’s speak, read, and write their official language, Arabic. As in Kurdistan, they speak Kurdish so they can distinguish between the Iraqi’s and the Kurds. After 9/11 has induced negative attitudes towards Muslim peoples who tend to be strongly associated with any act of terrorism. The media has played a colossal role in developing such negative association wherein it constantly portrays Muslim people in combination with violent terrorist acts. It does so in a way that they both go hand-and-hand. In other words, it has made it as though the Islamic religion is synonymous with terrorism. The media has perpetuated Muslim stereotypes over the years that followed the 9/11 incident. Because of this, society has developed, and still has developed, this prejudiced mindset about the Islamic religion and the Muslim communities around the world. People immediately assume that any violent act being depicted through the media is the direct result of Muslims. They automatically generate this idea that the act was performed by a Muslim terrorist even when they were not involved whatsoever. Regardless of whether it was true or not, Islamic religion and its Muslim adherents are at the top of societies’ agenda just waiting for the evidence to be generated so that they can then safely blame them for such world affairs. Again, this has led to the attack on the Islamic religion itself wherein people have come to postulate Islam as an act of oppression, violence and hatred towards non-Muslims. Anti-Muslim sentiments and campaigns have resulted from such misinformation the media has been generating and feeding its viewers.
