In the song Radioactive by Imagine Dragons, a new age has risen in society and the people began to revolutionize against it, but are left with no choice but to give up. Although the protagonist of the song has a strong rebellious tone he is revealed to simmer down and let the new age take power over society. Letting the new age take over the character begins to sob with hopelessness that he is “breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus”(line 8). and end his sorrow with “This is it, the apocalypse”(line 9). By losing hope and letting the new age take over the singer shows that the protagonist is not strong enough to stop the new age and is willing to shape up along with it and declare an apocalyptic end to the old age he
