Draco Malfoy laid his hands on the wet, silver rail, staring across the endless landscape. The rain trickling in the background, the icy winds piercing his pale skin. He couldn't do it, he couldn't do it, those four words repeating in his head, over and over again. How could he? It was impossible, having to murder someone, even Dumbledore. But, even so, Dumbledore never did him wrong, he may have favoured Potter and his friends, but regardless, he still should him kindness. No, he couldn't do it. Hoping to take his made off his thoughts, Draco looked up to observe the view. All he could see was the dark forest, misty fog and heavy rain, patches of black and white. Black and white, like the world he lived in. The world will always be divided …show more content…
He took a deep breath, and proceeded to push up against the rail and to swing his leg over. "Stop, don't do it. " someone ordered. Draco turned around and saw it was y/n. "What makes you think you can tell me what to do?" Draco snorted back, emphasising on the me, it was rude, but he couldn't let y/n know that he was weak. "Well, the fact that I have caught you doing something you will regret makes me immediately involved." she remarked back. "You don't know anything about me, you don't know what I have been through, what I have experienced, so don't you dare think you can tell me what to do with my life." Draco said almost screaming, he had said it to y/n, but he knew he was really directing it to his father. Y/N had a blank stare on her face, she didn't know Draco well, she had only seen him around the school and in between classes, they weren't in the same house so there paths rarely met, but she had heard the rumours. The rumours that he had become a Death Eater. She didn't know what to believe, she knew he was a bully, a pure blood who thought better of himself, but he was still a teenager, despite his beliefs she never truly believed he would of chosen that …show more content…
She stepped forward towards him, he was still looking towards the horizon, his back turned away from her, " Draco, I understand you're scared, that you feel afraid and sad, but to fall so low as wanting to take your life, that's wrong, you can't do that. Just think about what would happened, how your parent and your friends would feel, they would miss." Draco interrupted her, " Miss me? As if they would, they don't care, because of my father I'm in this mess and I don't have any friends." " Well what are Crabbe and Goyle, your guardian fairies?" She asked back. "Friends, as if." he scoffed. " No one will miss me or care." Draco said, coming to a realisation. "Well I will, I'll miss you Draco." she whispered. " Why? You barely know me, I don't even know your name." he growled. Y/N winced, it hurt, but she knew he was only trying to scare her away and she wouldn't fall for his tricks. " I don't care if you don't know me, I'm involved now, if you did jump, I would have to live knowing I could of stopped you, Draco Malfoy could of lived if only Y/N Y/S stopped him. How do you think that makes me feel?" There was a beat of silence. "I understand that maybe you haven't had the best support in the world, that your parents haven't been
“Straining his eyes, he saw the lean figure of General Zaroff. Then... everything went dark. Maggie woke up in her bed. “Finally woke up from that nightmare. Man… I miss my brother. Who was that person that my brother wanted to kill?” she looks at the clock and its 9:15am “Crap I’m late for work!” Maggie got in her car and drove to the hospital for work.
Roger has shaped his identity throughout the book by doing actions to form his new cruel, violent identity. Roger has done things such as throw and release rocks at two boys, and then viciously hunting a pig and killing him.
Oh dear! I can't believe what I just did, it was so hilarious, I hope
The Crucible, a play written in the 1950’s by American playwright, Arthur Miller, is based on the chaotic witch hysteria in Salem, Massachusetts during the 1600’s. Abigail, a sinful protagonist in the play, is the root to the myriad problems that conspire throughout the play. She is to blame for the executions of innocent citizens, and for acts of lechery between marriages. An important reappearing theme throughout the play is one’s reputation and the extremes the characters would take in order to preserve their name. The characters in The Crucible, particularly, Parris, John Proctor, and Judge Danforth, use the sanctity of their names to prioritize how they will look in the public eye, rather than what is beneficial to them individually.
I also don't own the idea, it was requested to me by the wonderful Amanda. Thank you so much! I hope I did this idea justice.
By this time they had passed beyond Frome's earshot and he could only follow the shadowy pantomime of their silhouettes as they continued to move along the crest of the slope above him. He saw Eady, after a moment, jump from the cutter and go toward the girl with the reins over one arm. The other he tried to slip through hers; but she eluded him nimbly, and Frome's heart, which had swung out over a black void, trembled back to safety.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once stated, "I am not interested in power for power’s sake, but I’m interested in power that is moral, that is right, and that is good,” and a character from "Lord of the Flies" applies to this, and his name is Ralph. He symbolizes civilization within William Golding's allegory. First off, he brought up the idea of designated chief to lead the survivors, rather than anarchy. Also, being elected by most of the survivors and they trusted him to help them. Concerning the idea of being rescued, he constantly enforces the idea of the fire. The idea is for someone not on the island see the boat and to leave the island. Due to that, Ralph places a rule of having a fire constantly on. This rule, along with the many others
...a seat next to me on the soft, blue rug. “It’s okay, I know how you feel. I felt the same way when I was forced out of my book and left in a new world”, Abby said sympathetically. “You mean I was right?” I said, slowly lifting my face to the light, my cheeks red and my face damp from my salty tears. “Yes, and you must help me get out of this place. I don’t belong here. It’s just that every time somebody reads my book, I am forced out of it. You see, my book wants me to leave for a while. That reason I do not know why. But I do know that you are the only one that can help me back to my home. I will need three stars, four tears of a puppy and a monkey’s paw. That is what my book requires from me at this dimension. So will you help me?” Abby says, her eyes glittering of hope. “Sure,” I say. After all, she is now my friend and she did confess so I see no problem there.
Richard Rescorla showed heroic qualities in the evacuation of thousands of people during the 9/11 attacks. He was the director of security at Morgan Stanley. Rescorla was a stickler for his building’s safety and held twice-yearly evacuation drills to get people out. When the attacks happened and the tower next to Rescorla’s was hit, he stood up and took action. His plan was to simply instruct people to leave calmly. The plan continued right up until the moment he was killed. Rescorla’s actions were considered instrumental in the successful evacuation of over 2,500 people. John Olson, a Morgan Stanley regional director, saw Rescorla reassuring colleagues in the 10th-floor stairwell. “Rick, you’ve got to get out, too,” Olson told him.
Pyramus was the cute boy next door, and Thisbe the prettiest girl in the entire neighborhood. They lived right next door to each other. Their parents were in a dispute over rent money; Thisbe’s father was the manager of the apartments and Pyramus’s parents had been late on their payments for a few months now. The kids were not allowed to talk or to see each other. One thing, however, they could not forbid- their young and carefree love that pound in each others hearts. They conversed by signs and glances, and the fire burned more intensely for being covered up.
Worrying about how to handle this meeting, Ralph “[loses] himself in a maze of thoughts that [are] rendered vague by his lack of words to express them,” even though his mind is not a maze, this analogy works effectively, because Ralph usually loses his train of thought which is from of the stress he is under, his poor amount of nutrition and sleep; the weight of leadership has its toll on Ralph as the story progresses. He is dutiful and dedicated, but his attempts to instill order and calm among the boys are decreasingly successful and contrast with Ralph growing knowledge of leadership which is evident when Golding says, “the assembly shredded away and [become] a discursive and random scatter”; Golding suggests that their civilized society is slipping away and it is becoming primitive. Golding develops Ralph's particular concerns and insecurities in this chapter; by showing him brooding over his perceived failures, Golding highlights Ralph’s responsible, adult nature. Although Ralph exemplifies a more than sufficient intellect, he begins to realize that he lacks Piggy's knowledge when he says, “I can’t think [...] not like Piggy”.
“ ‘What is the use of daughter learning a lot of drivel? You know that a girl can’t support herself.’ His voice was rising.
You may not believe me, because I certainly did not know that you would be this important in my life, but I chose the latter. I was going to be separated from you if I spoke the truth and vaporized if not. A world without you is death, worse than any pain or torture the world could give me.” Julia said.
Why me? what did I do? I try to increase the chance of rescue, keep everyone safe and now I'm forced to hide in this dark, wet, jungle. I am absolutely terrified and I feel as though I am a small animal being preyed on by a gigantic beast. I can hear footsteps and quiet chanting in the distance; the noises are getting closer.
